i purchased the Asics Gel-Kayano 30, because I am moving abroad this year and will be doing some walking. I never realized a shoe would change my life so much. So many people have plantar fascitis and I have no idea why there are not commercials for shoes like this. Thank you for all your videos that talk about this. Flat feet is a common problem and you really do have to research the right shoe for yourself.
Interesting, I can't wear the gel kayano, it caused issues in my foot in the last 2 toes area, and the New Balance 860 (the floppy heel counter version) did exactly the same, and actually cracked the heel counter
Asics Gel Kayano 30 is one of the greatest shoes I have ever used. I went into the London Asics showroom requesting for a shoe that can help prevent my inward ankle twist(inside ankle, not outside twist which happens to a lot of people). I was more inclined towards Gel Nimbus 25. The lady in the shop suggested to try Gel Kayano 30 as it has better stability. I found that it fits me like a glove. Never had ankle issues for the past 1 year now since the purchase. Very happy and couldn't have found a better pair. I don't yet know if any other brand would have a pair that works this well. If there is, I would be interested to explore that as well. Also I can walk very fast with these shoes for a considerable amount of tine without getting any pain in the shin or heel or ankle part, which is not the case with my previous shoes. Its an excellent buy.
Thank you for your recommendations! The asics gel kayanu have been a game changer for me. I am now trying to find a boot for walking in winter. At this point I have found nothing that doesn't irritate my foot. I overpronate my left foot and I am pretty sure I have PTT. The stretching exercises and asics gave worked wonders. I am afraid to reinjure so I am very about what I wear. If I have to I'll just wear my asics in the cold wisconsin weather.
Hello. My feet are inward facing. I am looking for the best shoes that will prevent my feet from inward facing. But the sole of the shoe should not be high. Can you give me some advice? Thank you. Greetings from Turkey.
Hi I hope you can read my comment and I have important question. I bought the ASICS gel kayano 31 stability shoes. But during my running about 15km my left ankle bone is paining is like scratching with my shoes. But my right side is normal I don’t feel any pain. Can you give me the advice thanks
I’ve recently gotten back into running, but I tend to experience shin splints, and I know I overpronate. I currently run in a pair of GTS 12s (us mens 12.5 double wide) that I haven’t put many miles on, but I’m considering upgrading while taking advantage of a sale. I got them by going to a running store and they put me on a treadmill and analyzed how I run. My podiatrist confirmed that I overpronate and have flat feet. A few years ago, I had an issue where the tissue under the ball of my foot, beneath my middle toe, gave way, leading to a collapse. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis at the time and was advised to wear orthotics, with Dr. Scholl’s being recommended. Thankfully, I’ve since recovered. Given all this, what would you recommend for running shoes or additional support?
How about for underpronators? Will these shoes work? I understand underpronators are generally advised neutral shoes but will neutral shoes be enough for someone who has a history of recurrent ankle sprains from oversupination?
Hi mate, I’m returning from tearing my post tib tendon and my plantar fascia, I’m pretty sure I over pronate as I have posterior shin splints right now in the same leg! I was running 6 days a week and enjoying doing ultras but really struggling getting back. I also have a wide foot and high arches! Please help me with some ideas for some shoes I can try, thankyou so much!!!
For overpronation i feel the main issue is ankle support, which is not covered in this video. We can have custom insoles made for our feet but we still need soemthing firm holding our ankles in place so we don't flop over. High tops are usually the only thing but unfortunately trainers like these dont tend to b made high
These shoes provide ankle stability through stiff heel counters, deep heel cups, and good lockdown. There is no evidence to suggest that a high top provides greater support. However, everyone's experiences are different, so thank you for sharing yours.
Hellow sir I met an accident and unfortunately in my right hip IT fracture ,, after implantation it recovered and little gait problem very minor after my 3rd surgery. If I wear height heel shoes it pains me lot in hip and especially lumber region right side. I am a lecturer and daily I have to sand 5-7 hours everyday. Foot shape is broad and arc support also I don’t find comfortable in shoes, I don’t have flat feet , it’s normal feetWhich shoes you suggest me. Recently I tried kayano 30 in store ..it’s comfortable , I didn’t purchase till now. Can u suggest me any better optio. That I can try
Hi! I just sprained my ankle because i tripped sideways wearing a chunky sneakers. I am now recovering and I need a good shoes that does not make me trip sideways anymore! Can you please give me a recommendation?
Hi there I’m suffering achilles tendonitis, I saw your previous video about Achilles tendonitis so,wanted to know ASICS gel kayano 30 is better than gel kayano 31 ?
Would have been nice if you atleast give the answer with a link of your video of your recommentions when asked, instead of just writtung "we have a video...!" Thank you!
I can’t provide direct advice without an assessment. I’ve tried to create videos for most common conditions. In each video I’ve tried to provide 3 options so people can make an independent decision.
Which shoe would you recommend for my son with over pronation due to hypotonia and developmental delay? He cannot toe shoe laces due to his intellectual disability.

Broadly for shin splints a high drop and medial post works well but everyone differs and an assessment is always recommended
How about for underpronators? Will these shoes work? I understand underpronators are generally advised neutral shoes but will neutral shoes be enough for someone who has a history of recurrent ankle sprains from oversupination?

I explain this in the video. Higher stack = increase instability.
Badminton shoes are the best in stability 🙂 start using that.
