Hi James I have been suffering for nearly a year now. I have a physio but non have ever told me to do these exercises. I have random flare ups when I try stretching the tendons (as recommended) should I try these instead as the stretching always seems to aggravate! Hence this constant loop, also would you recommend cycling on a stationary bike to keep a level of fitness up as I’ve not been able to walk properly for 10 months now so fitness really lacking! I look forward to hearing back from you!

If i pronate & had plantar faciitis, which is better?

I had lapiplasty surgery a couple years ago and hardware removal a year in March. Now I have bone spurs on my heel. I still need to accommodate my other foot that has a small bunion. What shoe would you recommend to not put pressure on the ball of the foot and yet have a a deep cushy heel cup for the spur? I love to walk but am having such a hard time fining shoes. Thanks!

After wearing Hoka running shoes for last 10 years, the Bondi 8 that I bought made me quit Hoka. I bought a 8.5 US Bondi 8 so narrow and so uncomfortable that I couldn’t wear them anymore after just one month. I hated them. They feel more like a 7.5 US or a 8 US instead of a 8.5 like it should be… and so much narrow… Hoka should refund all Bondi 8 buyers!

Just would like to say that your knowledge on running shoes is the best i have seen .. you give all the right info in a clear easy manner. I started running ultra marathons back in the mid 1980s when at that time , very few knew about 100 mile events and the trainers used were very basic, its interesting to see how far shoes have come on .

I'm running a Hyrox tomorrow and had bought a pair of Cloudboom Echo 3 for races. I was injured before my first scheduled race so didn't get to try them out before other than a sample run over a couple of km. Found them very fast but super soft when doing anything with weight in your hand or unstable movement. Separately, I've just bought the Cloudmonster 2 to replace my standard Clifton 9 Hokas for general running and actually, I think I'm going to go with the Cloudmonster 2 for the Hyrox tomorrow because of the firmness. I think they will be much better for things like the farmers walk, lunges and the like

Please help me. I'm 16, and I've been running track at school recently. I've been experiencing some unknown pain that feels like it's circling all around my lower ankle and the front of my shins. Throughout the day, it doesn't hurt because I'm walking in school, but when I get to track practice and begin running, it starts to hurt. Even walking and standing alone causes me pain.

I have foot drop and stand off and on on concrete all day. Would this be a good fit for me?

I broke my fibula and tibia bones back Memorial Day last year. I’ve been trying to find a shoe since then and haven’t had much luck finding anything comfortable around the ankle area. I’m on my feet all day at work and even have to climb stairs. I want to try to Hokas but they are so expensive I don’t want to get them and have them not feel comfortable. I also work around water so sometimes water splashes on my shoes so I need something that’s going to be a little resistant to that and not soak my foot. Do you have any recommendations for something like that?

Question: I'm a huge fan of Asics since I got my Cumulus last year. I switched to Nimbus this year after trying them on in store and they felt more 'cushiony' to me. Been wearing them for a couple weeks now and still having really sore feet/legs after standing and walking all day at work. Thinking about going back to Cumulus or trying something else out... Anyone have opinions on if I switched to GT-2000 or one of these shoes if I'd maybe find more success? I do like the Asics brand a lot, very impressed with all the shoes I try on, but wondering what's up with my soreness.

I have to do a 14 day trip where every day I will walk on concrete about 20km every day, I recently did a similar trip but I was wearing a pair of Nike air force and this caused my knees to hurt a lot in the anterior part of them. Now I'm undecided whether the NB 860 V14 stability shoes or the more cushioned NB 1080 V13 are better for walking so much and for my knees. I would love it if you answered me! I tend to land outer side heel and show wear outer front and back of the soles when I run. Have had medial meniscus tears on both knees and both have been repaired. Looking for a good stable comfortable shoe to continue running. Would this be a good option for me?

I have a previous stress fracture in my lateral sesamoid and high arches and am trying to find a shoe which provides maximum stiffness to minimise flexing at the MTPs. I have previously had a paid of the Hoka Bondi and wonder which is stiffer between the Bondi and Gaviota? I also use insoles but sounds like both would be wide enough to accommodate those. Would be very grateful for your advice. Cheers, Ben

Brooks it is the best for me, and it is really comfortable on my feet and I can wear it for a long time without aching legs and feet.

I have this pair also..... Altra road shoe...... this is a mildly cushioned shoe (compared to a Brook Ghost Max)..... but if you have a long stride you'll love them - it has a gradual curved base - this is awesome for uphills and down hills but way better for a mid foot runner - after running in the Altra Olympus 5 around Snowdonia this is a lovely road shoe to return to.... please shout as I'm still running daily in them - and HUGE thanks for the awesome post!!!
