Even if it pisses you off, you can't just tell to someone behind you on a slope to slow down and go back off, because for you there's another way to solve the problem: speed up a bit more than him for a few hundred meters... and normally there won't be the problem anymore, you'll be alone. Fair of you to drop back when asked. If you had asked, perhaps he would have been ok for a bit longer. But all in all, public roads or not, personal space is still a thing, and anyone who rides themselves knows how annoying it can be, let alone the increased risk of wheel clipping (definitely when one party's going all-out).
Dont delete it. Its already going around the internet elsewhere. Theres no benefits to you if you delete it and he doesn't have a right to tell you what to do.
I don't have any experience with this but is it common for riders to stick to other riders wheels when training alone? It would annoy the hell out of me if there was someone breathing down my neck when i just wanted to do my training in peace.
Cheap furniture felt pads placed on GoPro mics work wonderfully in suppressing wind noise! Nice colors, is it some adjustment in post or one of GoPro color presets?
Remco was... silly on that one. If you don't want someone else on your wheel, just sprint away. No one can simply forbid someone to be on the wheel. That's ridiculous.
nah its actually annoying as hell when someone is following without asking first or even just saying hi, and remco probably has to keep to his intervals and not throw random sprints. also if he wouldn't tell anyone off they'd probably try to sprint with him and create dangerous situations.
Wrong. It's just rude and retarded to ride on the wheel of someone you don't know... not to mention DANGEROUS. I'm a lot slower than Remco, but I feel annoyed too when I'm on a training ride/run, someone who is a little slower than me tries to follow me and thus literally breathe down my neck. It's just a personal preference to not have someone super close to me. I do understand the road is public so it's everyone's right to cycle/run as close to someone as you want, but Remco also has the right to ask if they could stay away. Artem here very kindly did as asked, I guess out of respect for the world champ and also another humanbeing. Don't see how either side did anything wrong here. (Sure Remco could have asked with a big smile on his face. But he doesn't have to. No one is required to always be on a jolly jolly mood)

Should've just went around him instead of dropping back 😆
Sprinting away from him and taking an other route or faking that someone calls you to don't have the shame that he overtakes you again.
Silly you, look at his heartbeat. He would have died with a heart attack ;)
Bom vídeo. Você roda super bem. Assisti a outros vídeos seus e gostei.
O Remco é um bom piloto, mas o que tem de arrogância é impressionante.
Strange reaction from the world champion regarding you… but really great performance from you on his wheel. You impressed me !
Bravo!Tough ride indeed!
About Remco public roads are public, a gentlemen's agreement is preferable than a suspect of arrogance! This is not football!
Even if it pisses you off, you can't just tell to someone behind you on a slope to slow down and go back off, because for you there's another way to solve the problem: speed up a bit more than him for a few hundred meters... and normally there won't be the problem anymore, you'll be alone. If this is not possible, you have to tolerate the problem.
It is not good to me to say someone 'back off '.for me if theres a rider following me. I don't care, just ride thats all.
I make people ride through and take a turn.. always.

In this comment section: It's public roads... He's world champion... He shouldn't know the concept of 'personal space'... 🤔
Good on you to meet him. Great you could follow him for a few minutes.
Is he too famous to get dropped by a amateur 😂
Dont delete it. Its already going around the internet elsewhere. Theres no benefits to you if you delete it and he doesn't have a right to tell you what to do.

He can't even follow him,.... How pathetic and you have to imagine remco is only 22
Good effort, I think I would have stayed 10-20 metres behind him though.
he even takes care of curve technice in the uphill
I don't have any experience with this but is it common for riders to stick to other riders wheels when training alone? It would annoy the hell out of me if there was someone breathing down my neck when i just wanted to do my training in peace.
Meanwhile Remco was on 6 hour endurance ride listening to podcast and dyeing from boredom :D
Cheap furniture felt pads placed on GoPro mics work wonderfully in suppressing wind noise! Nice colors, is it some adjustment in post or one of GoPro color presets?
No adjustments, just pure video straight from Gopro11

Remco was... silly on that one. If you don't want someone else on your wheel, just sprint away. No one can simply forbid someone to be on the wheel. That's ridiculous.
nah its actually annoying as hell when someone is following without asking first or even just saying hi, and remco probably has to keep to his intervals and not throw random sprints. also if he wouldn't tell anyone off they'd probably try to sprint with him and create dangerous situations.
Wrong. It's just rude and retarded to ride on the wheel of someone you don't know... not to mention DANGEROUS. Only a complete douchebag would do that--especially UPHILL... where there is ZERO reason to ever ride on anyone's wheel. (There is no slipstream / drafting benefit when climbing--particularly something steep.)
Especially when you are being filmed without permission
@@rebinu thats right
Following someone without agreement is such a rude behavior.
Remco was forced to interval not by his intention
It supprised me he didnt react why you where following him. Remco is a verry good in the mountens. Maybe not like pogacar but verry close. You should be proud of youreself you could follow him that long... I noteced a few times he went to the left to let you feeling the wind. Remco is my countrymen as Wout and they both verry popular in belgium. We have now a thirth upcomming big talent, his name is Cian. He is even better in moutenstages.
I agree with most of your comment, knowing how annoying it is when a random stranger just sits on your wheel, no request, no nothing just panting behind. I think it was wrong he's training, just leave him alone - there are rights and then there's basic manners and courtesy to others
Agreed, fine if it's team and you've got an agreement. Weird if it's an unknown...
If they are slower than you then just speed up...
@@sampreece You know when sometimes people have a training plan they want to follow? Or they are on a long session and not want to throw in sprint repeats because of strangers want to get overly close?

I admire cyclists even tho I don't really follow competitions. And I understand people talking about his reaction. But from a person like me, the worst thing in this video is to see how is he more than once (and you once also, if I am not mistaken), crossing the solid white line in a mountain road open to vehicles. Train, enjoy cycling, but don't ignore safety/trafffic rules.
I would have overtaken him after that and once he catches up again to me, I'd wave him to stay back just like he did

Great leg's, did you have Strava?
Strong ride. I’m sure Remco does not want someone breathing down his neck. He had enough and took off. If anything you should not ride directly behind him.
Rule of the road is you can draft whoever you want. There was no danger here and Remco new he was behind him. Instead of being a douche he should represent the WC jersey WAY better. Without fans his sponsors dont make money and neither will he.
He didnt know who this kid was or who is dad was connected too. His ego just couldnt handle a Strava lover keeping up when he was obviously pushing the wkg.
They were climbing, no danger at all. I can understand while being at 40km/h +, but climbing at like 18 km/h is not dangerous at all.

Not a remco fan, but i think he’s right to tell you to back off. It’s easier for you to follow his wheel, so the power/effort doesn’t really say something, but more important , it’s annoying when you are training and there’s somebody in your wheel . Some info shouldn’t be shared with the web. Same whould be if you letting him ride in your wheel, it’s not the training he went out for. Why not stay in the wheel for 2 mins and then back off?
Well done keep training like this!!! And the next time you approach a world champion and he tells you to go back... go ahead.
