While it certainly would be EPIC with all Caps, I fear it would be unlikely...The Mechwarrior Games have yet to figure out a good way to handle Melee (Like the Axeman's Hatchet) or Battle Armor... Still though, one can dream...
Lovely re-enactment of one of the running jokes of the Battletech Universe! ^^ I love how the animated series also exists in-universe as a kids cartoon and propaganda piece. Apparently it flopped in the Inner Sphere, but really took off in popularity in the Clan occupation zones and the homeworlds, being seen as a kind of slapstic comedy! In one Technical Readout(I think it was a TR...), we can read a conversation between 2 Warriors of Clan Coyote, one joking about how over the top and ridiculous Nicolai Malthus was portrayed and if the spheroids really think that Clan Warriors talk like that, the other then aping the "YOU DARE REFUSE MY BATCHALL?!" line, and both literally going LOL. xD
Oh man, I forgot all about how they retconned the cartoon D: I had no idea about that last part with the clan Coyote warriors, that's awesome! :D Let me know if you find the source for it, won't you. .... YOOOOOOOOOOOU DAAAAAAARE TO RUH-FHJOOOSE MY BATCHALL?!
Thanks, that's very kind of you :) I did my best to mimic his style and manner of speech (I played Malthus, the other actors are listed in the credit roll)
You DARE refuse my batchall?! this is an awesome video! I remember this show from my childhood, and still love it, even with the inaccuracies and "acting". I love how precisely you preserved the awful acting in this remake. It's awesome!
That was, AWESOME. I sat through the entirety of the original run of the animated series and I have to say, even the purposeful reenactment of the original dialogue was well matched to the new animations. Wicked job man. I look forward to the continuation of your team's project.
Thank you so much! I was indeed a challenge and a tricky choice when I made the call that we would try to mirror the style of the original cast, since this meant intentionally doing the lines in the same, somewhat cheesy and over-the-top style as in the cartoon (especially for the 'bad guys'). Not everyone will appreciate what we were aiming for with that. We could have had people do the lines in their own style/register, which would have sounded much more natural, but I feel that something would have been lost in the process, as the over-the-top villains and cheesiness inherent to these early 90's cartoons are part of their nostalgic essence. I always planned this as a one-off thing, but a surprising amount of people have been asking for another episode. In practice, most everything is done by me, and the massive amount of work involved, and great difficulty of getting people to help with the recordings does make me hesitant to start a new one. It's not completely out of the question though :)
Well, I can say that, personally, I would most definitely follow this for as many as you're willing to produce. I look forward to any work you do in the future, whether it be this of something else related to the franchise.
Wow! Thank you very much, I am humbled by your kind words. Reading this commend absolutely made my day. I'm really glad I was able to bring you something so enjoyable! :)
Thank you very much! It brings me great pleasure when fans of the cartoon give great feedback like this! If I was able to do the original show justice, then I've achieved my aim :)
I loved it! The voices were great (especially Malthus). Let me know if you decide to splice some live action bits. We made a FedCom coolant vest and uniform, and I am working on the neurohelmet and a FedCom dress uniform for GenCon Indy 2017. Also, check in with Bravo Whiskey Charlie for info on their BattleTech film.
Thanks again, you always leave such nice feedback, appreciate it :) I'm really glad people seem to like the vid, so much time and effort went into it, that it's a relief to have this nice of a reception. The video was indeed quite a departure from my usual stuff, and I had to learn quite a lot of new skills just to do it (Like how to work with, texture and animate the 3D models in the vid). It was quite a challenge, but I've been wanting to do a machinima for some time, and to test my skills as a content creator. The voice acting was quite a challenge too, since we had to imitate the original voice actors' performance. I hope I/we did a decent job D:
That was really nice! I recently bought battletech and have been reading over old lore and watching the old series. I can see the love you guys put into this, thank you! Excellent credits music!
IMPRESSIVE WORK. Movement and scenes were dead-on accurate and highly faithful to the original. The dialog was too, and I was especially impressed with your Enhanced Imaging trick, that was superbly done. I also noticed you included some footage of what I assume was the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO as certain scenes in the Somerset Academy barracks. Your voice work does need improvement; but I doubt you're professional voice actors so that can be overlooked. The only flaws I could see, other than the aforementioned voice work, was your use of pulse-lasers for the mechs on both sides. I don't think they had those in the cartoon, with both sides using the longer-duration beams. But as you said yourself, you used what you could. It's quite passable. Other than those two nit-picky flaws, you did a VERY impressive job of this re-enactment. You just earned yourself a sub!
I always planned this as a one-off thing. However, so many people have requested more that I will consider it. There are several reasons why that's not likely to happen though; The massive amount of work involved, the months of time needed, the incredible difficulty of getting people to do the machinima recordings (and show up when planned) and do voices ect. Another major issue is that while the mech-y scenes are mostly doable, most of the show is in fact focused on the character dialogue and action, and I simply have no way of doing the character scenes in any decent manner.
Fair enough. As a hobbyist animator and as a member of a gameing guild, I understand exactly where you are coming from. Still, I can dream. Good luck in all your further endeavors!
Hey :) Sorry I never replied to you on the Battletech (pc game) forums. This is propably a one-off though, I don't see another episode happening, just too damn much work. May be some other kind of machinima in the future though, never know...
Love this! All though I would have let some casaulties happen. Like the two mechwarrios with Steiner should have perished since this is a remake. A good remake too!
Yeah, thanks for pointing that out so quickly. Somehow, not one of my assistants or previewers spotted that mistake :P I was able to quickly pull that version to fix that problem and some other stuff that bugged me while I was at it. So it's all good :)
Now we just need a series that isn't based on the Somerset Strikers. Like the new turn based strategy BATTLETECH that came out a couple years ago, but perhaps for the fall of the Star League.
as a kid i watch the Battletech animated series, but i forget what was the title of the show until quite recently and i just happen to rewatch all 13 episodes. Holy cow you def nailed the invasion of Clan Jade Falcon. Those IS light and medium mech have no chance against the Clan heavies. If the IS side had a Atlas, King Crab or the Annihilator, the Clan Jade Falcon will have a hard time bringing it down and the Atlas will prob lay waste to Malthus's Thor. The Clan Jade Falcon are the bunch of A-holes and they do kinda like Nazis taking Jews as prisoners Its too bad it ended with Adam Steiner taking back his planet but not his people. And the whole production end there too
I saw the thumbnail and thought it was a Cloud Cobra Mad Dog for a second, then I realized it was just a lime parakeet being weird and stealing our color scheme.
Yeah :D I hope it was worth the wait :o I did my best to bring ya'all some quality entertainment. Many long nights spent on this one, with extra impetus to finish it due to your nice shout-out video a few months back ^_^b
please tell me you guys plan to make more from other battle scenes of the cartoon! this was awesome! xD wish i could hit the like button more than once.
I guess I'm the only one who thought meh. I can see some development of your animation skills, hoping to see it further progress and hopefully take queues from the mw2 intro.
hi...nice work, man. just a little too much "standing still", but i guess it´s tough for one person to make more dynamic fights. just something to consider for later work, this one was cool, keep it up :)
yea okay... i haven´t seen the original in years, so appologies ;) ... but i am sure this bugged me back then as well :D as mentioned, good work... good luck for future projects :)
That was good i really liked it much better than the original. I would watch more. But i saw 2 tech errors 1 I think someone mentioned, the other is a mistake the original had to I beleive. 1. Dropship out of a dropship 2. When Nicolai targets the wolfhound, it should have come up as unknown mech. The clans warbook would only have star league era records and clan models. The wolfhound is a new mech design.
man, I WISH my graphics looked like that on MWO god damn it...but yeah AMAZING work dude. I've done editing and it's a lot more complicated than people think..side note for the love of space jesus why hasn't michael bay or any other hollywood remake happy producer picked this up? I would watch even the chesiest crap (not that this was cheasy it was actually good) if it was battletech and modern production values.
This just makes me want a full remake of the series
While it certainly would be EPIC with all Caps, I fear it would be unlikely...The Mechwarrior Games have yet to figure out a good way to handle Melee (Like the Axeman's Hatchet) or Battle Armor...
Still though, one can dream...
Likewise, I have wanted this for a long time, and not a fan-made creation like this one.
Lovely re-enactment of one of the running jokes of the Battletech Universe! ^^

....
YOOOOOOOOOOOU DAAAAAAARE TO RUH-FHJOOOSE MY BATCHALL?!
I was looking for "Trial Mech Tribulations" and found this...
This looks like it was a lot of work!
Yep, lots and lots (and lots) :D
the voice actor really did sound like Nicolai Malthus, awesome project!
Thanks, that's very kind of you :) I did my best to mimic his style and manner of speech (I played Malthus, the other actors are listed in the credit roll)

Any word lesser than Awesome! does not do this piece justice. Thank you for creating this piece of art!
Wow! Thank you very much, I am humbled by your kind words. Reading this commend absolutely made my day. I'm really glad I was able to bring you something so enjoyable! :)
That Nikolai Malthus reminds me to Rattache Ossis from MW3 for some reason
I WANT MORE!!! MORE!!
You have won your trial of position for the rank of Star Remaker Commander.
Brilliance! Thank you for the amazing treatment of what is still, sadly, the only Battletech show to be had . . .
Thank you very much! It brings me great pleasure when fans of the cartoon give great feedback like this! If I was able to do the original show justice, then I've achieved my aim :)

Wow! THis is so very good! Great job!
Great job! I definitly enjoyed watching it. Hopefully we will be able to see the rest of the first episode as well. Keep up the good work!
You and your friends did an awesome job!
Worth the weight
:))))
Wow that was really good, nice idea
Thanks again, you always leave such nice feedback, appreciate it :)

WOW! Please continue through the whole series, I've been wanting this and praying for this for YEARS. great work!
You nailed it, I really enjoyed this (Just wished there was more to watch you got me hooked) I hope you continue to do great work.
Amazing work, enjoyed watching.
High praise coming from a skilled video creator like yourself :) Thanks!
That was really nice! I recently bought battletech and have been reading over old lore and watching the old series. I can see the love you guys put into this, thank you! Excellent credits music!
Well done! I really enjoyed that bit of updated nostalgia.
Thank you very much, sir. Always nice to hear feedback like this from folks who watched the cartoon :)
That was an exceptional piece of work. Congrats and hope to see more one day
Epic job on reenacting the scenes of the first ep.
IMPRESSIVE WORK. Movement and scenes were dead-on accurate and highly faithful to the original. That was a fun watch. You folks really hit all the notes.
Cool :) Sounds like we accomplished what we aimed for then 👍
Ah, there's the super catchy theme song at the end. Great work man. I bet it took a lot to make this.
Can't say how amazing this is, encore please.
Excellent work!
Thanks! There was indeed a lot of said work, I'm glad the finished vid turned out well :)
MORE please!!! great great work will have many fans im sure
Nice Work, i enjoyed watching this. hope to see more of this!!!!!
good work... loved how you mixed all kind of things together like SWTOR :D
Yay! So good! Can't wait 4 new episodes!
Благословляю вас именем Александра Керенского!
Спасибо :)
Awesome! I absolutely love it! I sure hope there will be more!
This was quite the pleasant surprise RUclips pointed me to today!!!!
Thanks! Seeing comments like this always makes me happy :)
Fantastic work! :) Would love to see the series remade!
This is AMAZING! How am I just now seeing it?!?!? Great job guys!
Thanks a lot, Kristian, and a happy new year to ya ^_^b
This made me feel as impressed as the kid who originally watched the cartoon all those years ago. Well done! 😊
omg! I'm young again, i remember seeing this in saturday mornings! Great reconstruction! I wish i could leave a million likes!
Thank you very much :) I'm glad I could recreate some of that nostalgic magic for you.
Freaking bad ass.. I tried watching the originals.. painful, but this is just amazing. Great job!!
A most excellent remake. I know it may be too much to ask, but will we see more?
I always planned this as a one-off thing. However, so many people have requested more that I will consider it. Very nice fan made mix for Battletech fans ;J
Excellent! Reminds me of the first time I watched the original series! Well done!
Wow man, this is awesome. Great work!! It looks really cool!!!
Wow, so great to get feedback like this :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Swotor! Hahah I love this amalgamation. Brilliant
Hey Vux, Finally the new Video which you promised to us! Please Keep going with the next episode!
Hey :) Sorry I never replied to you on the Battletech (pc game) forums. This is propably a one-off though, I don't see another episode happening, just too damn much work. May be some other kind of machinima in the future though, never know...
nice, very nice, like allways. looks great.
holy shit, great work vux!
Thank you very much for your kind words! I'm Really glad you liked it :)
now i really want a battletech movie
Great work. Cannot wait for the next episode. +1 sub
Love this! All though I would have let some casaulties happen. Like the two mechwarrios with Steiner should have perished since this is a remake. A good remake too!
Great work! Hope you do more!
Awesome! Excellent job!
Thank you! I appreciate the support :)
AWESOME FUCKING SAUCE!!! Esp if one has watched the original episode before! Exactly the same lines! LOL!
Thank you very much! Always makes my day when I get feedback like this! Glad you enjoyed it :)
now the right dropship ;) very nice
Yeah, thanks for pointing that out so quickly. Somehow, not one of my assistants or previewers spotted that mistake :P I was able to quickly pull that version to fix that problem and some other stuff that bugged me while I was at it. So it's all good :)
This is amazing!
Awesome work very well done.
Very Cool! Nice work.
Very nicely done :)
Much better then the crummy Saturday morning cartoon!
#MyHomePlanet!
#InformationIsAmmunition
@@ShadowKittehRawr #ByKerenskysGhost
Excellently made! It must have taken a lot of time to go through the maps and then add the effects on top. Especially with the Aerospace fighters.
Thanks! And yeah, those scenes with the 3D models (fighters and dropships) took weeks to get right, I hope the end result was decent :)
Nicely Done! 👍🏻
I think Malthus should have piloted an orion instead of the hellbringer, the orions shape matches the one seen in the animated series
In the animated series he refers to it as a thor /summoner, but it's a weird variant without the signature missile rack
Nicely done
Pretty cool!
Very well done.
Thank you very much mister classy owl :)
Now we just need a series that isn't based on the Somerset Strikers. Like the new turn based strategy BATTLETECH that came out a couple years ago, but perhaps for the fall of the Star League.
I like how video games today have better graphics than animation back then.
as a kid i watch the Battletech animated series, but i forget what was the title of the show until quite recently and i just happen to rewatch all 13 episodes. Holy cow you def nailed the invasion of Clan Jade Falcon. Those IS light and medium mech have no chance against the Clan heavies.

Its too bad it ended with Adam Steiner taking back his planet but not his people. And the whole production end there too
Haha nice, using SWTOR and MWO machinima among other things (by the looks of it :3)
I saw the thumbnail and thought it was a Cloud Cobra Mad Dog for a second, then I realized it was just a lime parakeet being weird and stealing our color scheme.
Fekkin' Clanners!
Silence, you filthy inner sphere stravag!
Just you wait, until i liberate my Scorpion mech from Russ's Circus!
I'll fight you Clanners all the way back to your homeworlds!
This was pretty awesome, but you made one mistake.
YOU ATTACKED MY HOME PLANET!
YOU'RE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah :D I hope it was worth the wait :o I did my best to bring ya'all some quality entertainment. Many long nights spent on this one, with extra impetus to finish it due to your nice shout-out video a few months back ^_^b
i always wonder what Malthus had on his mech, wiki says he likes the M comfig
but thats not what he had in the show
nice job! Can you do the entire series? I know, massive undertaking!!
More episodes please! :D
with what you had to work with that was damn good! hey if you ever need any help with voice acting or Mech pilots I'd be glad to hop on the bandwagon!
WHAT IN THE NAME OF KERENSKY... actually that's exactly who they are!
You need to make more!!!!
please tell me you guys plan to make more from other battle scenes of the cartoon! this was awesome! xD wish i could hit the like button more than once.
I guess I'm the only one who thought meh. I can see some development of your animation skills, hoping to see it further progress and hopefully take queues from the mw2 intro.
Vux and cast, you all did a great job on this. Any more planned?
Maybe a "meme version" would be nice, where no Centurion or wolfhound comes, but one atlas one Banshee and one zeus.
Did that dropship drop a dropship?
hi...nice work, man. just a little too much "standing still", but i guess it´s tough for one person to make more dynamic fights. just something to consider for later work, this one was cool, keep it up :)
The amount of standing still is the same as in the original cartoon this scene is based off, as it's largely a scene-for-scene remake.
yea okay... i haven´t seen the original in years, so appologies ;) ... but i am sure this bugged me back then as well :D
as mentioned, good work... good luck for future projects :)
^_^b
That was good i really liked it much better than the original. I would watch more. But i saw 2 tech errors 1 I think someone mentioned, the other is a mistake the original had to I beleive.
1. Dropship out of a dropship
2. When Nicolai targets the wolfhound, it should have come up as unknown mech. The clans warbook would only have star league era records and clan models. The wolfhound is a new mech design.
I miss battletech
NO URBY, NO WIN!
3d battletech cartoon? aewsome remake ,especially like the music. is there anyway i can get an mp3 of the remade Battletech theme, it sounds awesome
MY HOME PLANET!
I kinda wish you had used the original voice actors, but this was good! Any chance of more?
YOU DARE TO REFUSE MY BACHAL!? X3
The clan boss has the same voice as Cell in DBZ lol
Nice one! Are you looking for some extra hands for that?
Nice idea. ;-) See some SWTOR in there too.
Roger that, Bravo Whisky Charlie, we have visual of target Victor Uniform Xray in the SWTOR AO.
Please tell me how I can be a part of this? I'm sure that there are others that-d like to know as well?
But they attacked MY HOME PLANET!
Brother Malachai #MyHomePlanet!
Please, continue.
man, I WISH my graphics looked like that on MWO god damn it...but yeah AMAZING work dude. I've done editing and it's a lot more complicated than people think..side note for the love of space jesus why hasn't michael bay or any other hollywood remake happy producer picked this up?
