I remember that laughing while riding this monster was the same on my GSX1400 15 years ago. Awesome bike. My best experience on a motorbike for more than 30 years on bikes.
massive power, comfy seat, wide bars, relaxed riding position and super affordable this may just be the ultimate no fuss raw bike, after years on modern bikes its refreshing to go back to something with some raw character
That's crazy 200 bhp, I have a GSX1400 with a TTS 1550cc conversion (150bhp) I also have an uprated oil cooler, Akrapovic headers 4-1 exhaust and PC, I also have an uprated rear swinging arm (braced) that improves the cornering. Awesome bikes!
great fun video. Thank you. I had one in 2002-03 and although it was a lard arse and I've had bikes since technically way more advanced, I still find a soft spot in my heart when remembering the GSX1400. With a supercharger it'd be a battle to tame on the country roads but a pleasing experience.
TTS are putting through another production run of these kits in the near future. If you want one email richard@tts-performance.co.uk They are going to revise the design slightly to improve the looks some more.
Love your answer Paul. The point is as you say - its a fighter with decent power. I got one as well - black from 2007 - its a nice bike and I like the torque it produces. I had a 1250 bandit before and a SV 1000. They was both sold after 1 year. But this bike will stay with me for a longer time. I could do with the power you are handling here. It is amazing. Best regards Christian from Denmark
Beautiful, congratulations on the bike! I read on a Spanish magazine that supercharging a motorcycle was a bit expensive and put 'a lot of weight' high on the engine... I'm glad you got it made.
how can this bike be a waste of time, i have a gsx1400 with a twin scorpion, K&N filter, timing retarder eliminator fitted, and engine re-mapped for the exhaust. A shit hot pure grunt bike that gives no quarter and needs to be treated with care. Pure retro fun. Like he says a "blokes bike". Brilliant!!!
That was fantastic synkuk, really top quality production. I have a relatively stock GSX1400 and as it accellerates very, very hard from 3000 rpm onwards, and the thought of a blown 1400 is something I can't even begin to imagine. Is the torque curve the same shape across the rev range (just a lot more) or does the delivery of torque and power change (again other than the fact that you get a lot more). Cheers
Where exactly has this work been done. I myself have a 1550cc which has 156Hp and 156Nm on the rear wheel. I could well imagine such a job being done on mine.
As the guy said that power is too much for that type if bike I love my gsx 1400 have had it 11 years now and running nice changed rear springs due to do a front rebuild and my tank resprayed and plastics (mudguard and rear ) done full refurb on brakes myself new deals etc new recent customs seat I just love the torque pulls in every gear I think I'd rather up the horses by adding better exhaust system and engine components etc 200 is too much for this design love the bike as it is
love mossie.. have a gsx1100ef, have busa, may need to buy one of these lads too... more poverty eh!!! Brilliant, thanks for uploading it. Ed from Eire :)
I know what you mean .. however when you punt loads more power onto the road .. you need to modify suspension and brakes.. sometimes tweaking just isnt enough.
Fantastique bike - Congratulations, I would love to supercharge mine (SV 1000). when I will get a new bike I will make sure that there are fitting Rotrex kits available :-). Have also a look at the Rotrex kits from A&A Performance, they've put a great clip on youtube, looks very nicely made.
@TenseNotDense , bikes not bad .. look at my other 1400 vid to see what it changes into :) btw it takes a lot more than a jack up kit to make a blown 1400 work..
Personally speaking, when your doing over 165 on a naked it feels like you are about to enter hyperspace.. :) I just dont feel the speed on a faired bike.. compared to a naked.. Anyways its all about acceleration.. and up to 100 + it looses nothing on a faired bike as wind resistance doesn't play such a significant effect...
by a 'lot of weight' you mean adding around 3 - 5 kg to the weight of the bike tes it does .. but that is more than made up for by the power and the fact that this isnt a race bike so who cares about a little extra weight.. Thanks for the nice comment :)
I assume you own a S1000RR or something similar and are feeling a need to make a point .. or are you a wannabe ? My bike isnt supposed to be a race bike .. its a fighter .. with some decent power.. you could also mention that almost any decent sports-bike will out handle it as well ;) There will always be something with decent power out the factory..
You mean video quality or manufacturing quality ? I think both are improving always .. we would have said the same thing in 2006 at 1990 kit and video :D
.. and your point is ? theres a turbo 14 making 480bhp + this 14 is for the road..( with small blower ) and I challenge the any rider to tell me they need more than 200bhp on the road. btw I own one ;)
The torque curve goes flat from about 4k - 9k.. with no drop off so the power just climbs at a 45 degree angle. The advantage of this type of blower is its not like a traditional forced induction i.e. no woolly bottom end .. no sudden power steps.. it just feels like a much bigger N/A motor.. Could have fitted a bigger blower, however it wouldnt have fitted behind the motor, I feel this would ruin the line of the bike.. and any one who says they can user over 200bhp on the road is a liar.

I've modded it to 126hp and 142nm on the back wheel and it's monstrously torquey. Adding as supercharger is just mental... WANT IT.
Beautiful, congratulations on the bike! I read on a Spanish magazine that supercharging a motorcycle was a bit expensive and put 'a lot of weight' high on the engine... I'm glad you got it made.
This was a great video: Excellent camera work, good editing, a good story and most importantly a genuine character talking head. More!

I WANT ONE! I love the GSX-1400! Awesome naked bike look and FA Engine! ;-)

Great video!!! I'm wondering if he ride it with the suspension left on standard settings or maybe they hardened it up a bit...
@TenseNotDense , bikes not bad .. look at my other 1400 vid to see what it changes into :)

Amazing video...Just fit a Yoshimura on it for the absolute sound. !!
great riding for an old man!

Can you fit one of them supercharges to any sports bikes? Nice bike

Would love to supere my 600rr, i just wonder would it still handle well?
god damn that bike looks like fun, wonder if he stuck to the speed limit lol,
is that beast running with stock internals? pistons rods etc???
WOW, I want a supercharger too on my bike!!!
beautiful bike with some great performance.. but it looks like the aluminium drive cover allmost touches the ground during cornering:O
cool vid ;)
Amazing how crappy quality was back in time. Still a fantastic bike.
You mean video quality or manufacturing quality ? I think both are improving always .. we would have said the same thing in 2006 at 1990 kit and video :D
@@synkuk Video quality. It wasn‘t meant as an offence. I loved the review and the bike back then - that hasn‘t changed. Have a great 2021!
I want that bike!!!
Is it still available to get?
.. and your point is ?
theres a turbo 14 making 480bhp +
this 14 is for the road..( with small blower ) and I challenge the any rider to tell me they need more than 200bhp on the road.
btw I own one ;)
allthat power and no fairing!?
whats the point if you can't get the full potential out of the machine due to wind resistance?
only asking.
Nice bike, chains a bit slack tho ;)
hmm so TTS charge £1000 to change a wheel sod goin there for any work lol
4:18,says slow,not fast....
@utterlycutterly he is a journo

What if i told you the bmw s1000rr makes 187 hp with a 1000 cc engine.
Thanks for the 'advice', I bet you feel the same about anything that isnt just like what you bought :D
Idiot !
GSX1400 is a copy of a ZRX 'all I've got in common with a lawson is the paint color' .. dont make me laugh...
