    Great video Troy, thanks 👍
    The sliders with a battery hold down system are now available in addition to the smooth sliders.

      Thank you Rob for QUICKLY producing something like this for the Ascent. I think a lot of folks will benefit from it.

      @@RoadsideRC I like it! You really left alot on the table leaving the shocks in stock tune. Stock shocks, with no internal springs, and heavy fluid. Add a unfair advantage rear link riser and adjust your upper mount position on all 4 corners. Then you will have something

    That's a lot of weight taken off that truck is definitely better than it was. would like to see it on the rocks with a steeper incline I would say that it goes like a mountain goat!! great video !! Will be watching for the next one.

    The only gain from what I can see is the $100 that seller will make, from all the videos that I have seen on this truck, with little upgrade. People are killing it with the Ascent when it comes crawling

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  8 месяцев назад +1

      Having driven it, I can confidently say that is wrong. This chassis genuinely makes the truck better - but incrementally, not game-changing.

    Definitely improved, that's a heck of a diet on the weight lol! Interested trying this chassis with the changes I've made to my current Ascent I'm super interested

    That was a considerable amount of weight you took of the top, you could really see the difference in the side hill test. Nice save coming down those 2 logs around 18:00... 👏👍😊

    looks an excellent upgrade maybe you need outside lights for outdoors tests when its dark the daylight test showed it often seemed a bit light at the front but it did cope quite well
    *💯full view always👀👍like☑🌲🎅wishing you happy christmas and holidays🌲🧑‍🎄*

    I do agree with some about the gains not being worth replacing the frame rails because the gains are so little but once you’ve upgraded everything to wring out all the performance something like this is appealing as it provides even more performance. It’s like any upgrades for example you add brass to the front ya that helps a little just like the rails but you put all those upgrades & mods together & you have pretty much the best performance out of it.

    I’m not trying to dog on the ascent, it’s a car that I’m interested in buying but at this point why not get a vanquish carbon for around a 100 bucks more? (actually with the brass you add it would be the same price). It seems like most people are changing the wheels/tires, the motor and esc. I penciled it out and with the carbon chassis and changing out the other stuff mentioned above (fusion SE, $100 for wheels/tires) your into the Redcat $579. The vanquish would be $692 with same motor, wheels/tires, LDARC RX/TX and a ascent body.
    The vanquish also has brass inserts for the axles and portal weights for the front so add the cost of any weight your putting on the redcat. Looking at the weights you added would make these two rigs right at the same price.

      Your point is part if the age-old build vs buy debate. Most folks who are VERY serious don't start with a RTR. They buy chassis rails and go from there.
      But - MOST folks start with a RTR, and the cheaper the better.
      Also, I haven't gotten my hands on one of the Vanquish kits to see how good it is. See if it really is any better.

    • @huffingearoil
      @huffingearoil 8 месяцев назад

      Very true and thanks for the reply. As far as performance rtr’s go, I don’t think it gets much better then the ascent that’s for sure!

    Did you remove the inner shock springs like they recommended? I just did the conversion as well, and I agree all the bolt holes lined right up and everything fit very nicely. Improved the flexibility and crawling capability of the Ascent, hands down.

    You really can't do a fair side hill angle test without having the truck at actual ride height for crawling, otherwise it is a false reading.

      I expect this may continue to change as I experiment with different link placement, shock setup, etc.
