A few corrections/clarifications: 1) I have since nailed down that Red would have the Scizor team since the player would spend a significant amount of time going against Team Rocket in the Celedon Game Corner. I still stand by that his original team is fantastic and should not change, but the Scizor one is what I would change it to if I had to. 2) I 100% meant to give Wallace a Swampert instead of Whiscash, but I accidentally put the wrong graphic in and got confused by that in the moment. A Water specialist Champion should absolutely be able to have the Water starter Pokemon, especially when it is a straight upgrade to a Pokemon he already has. 3) I like the idea of a Bug specialist Champion and I think Unova is possibly the only region where it could really work, but I do think Alder's team should be the more diverse one just to give those Pokemon and the region more representation overall.
