Hey Zack first of all thanks for the video. How is your experience with the 1650 on this model? is there enough space and ventilation for this GPU? looks like is very close to the power unit. Thanks in advance!
install Heaven Benchmark 4.0 and run benchmark you see average of 60 fps and i had before gt 1030 and getting 22 fps. your benchmark test ,not so good for information. have same pc 7010 and cards
Hi OptiGPU, I'm would like to check with you. My pc is Dell optiplex 7010 i7-3770 16Gb Ram. Can I upgrade a gtx 1650 super? The space is enough to this GPU? Need to change the power supply to 500w?
I have a hp model similar to the Dell, I have a 1050 init with i5 4570 and it does very well. Stays super cool cpu stays under 40 most of the time gpu in the 40s I have 250$ in it total
I was wondering the same thing. I am considering buying a low profile GTX 1650 but I can't find a 300w+ PSU that will fit in the case. (Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF)
thanks for helping thats way better because i have gtx 750 ti and i think of getting a gtx 1050 ti 4gb low profile or the same as yours but, atleast the low profiles aren't a hasselle to put the pci-e slot into a motherboard!
Hi Thanks for the great video it's really useful as I'm about to take delivery of an i3 7010 and a low profile GPU. I'm thinking of upgrading the i3 CPU in the PC to an i5 but I'm wondering what's the power supply wattage in your machine?
Hey! Great video, but I was wondering if you could answer some questions? I have a refurbished Optiplex 7020 SFF, and I want to find a graphics card that will both fit into the case, and also has a VGA port. I don't want to do anything major with the card, just minecraft and rocket league. I've been told to look into the GeForce 700 series, or a GT 1030, but I'm not sure if any of them will fit, or how to check. (The power supply shield sits directly under the port and doesn't leave much room, which ive heard can cause issues) I can live without the VGA port if necessary, but that would mean either finding a new monitor or buying an adapter, so I'd rather just try and find a card with one. Any ideas?
did you have any problems with the power supply, Becuase mine is only 240 W and the card requirement is 400 w minimum, i have the same optiplex 7010, did you upgrade the power supply?
That’s a good question. I wasn’t gaming for hours on end with this card, but it fared fine with light gaming. I should do a follow up video with a temperature overlay.
I stuck a WIFI card in and used a piece of pool noodle, cut with a steak knife, to jam in and apply adequate pressure when the case door is closed. I can't find SFF brackets either !!
What brand? Is it low profile? The minitower case is much roomier than the small form factor case I showed in the video. You could therefore get away with a standard height card. It looks like all the GT 1030s are shorter cards and so the RAM wouldn’t get in the way. That’s the only thing I’d be worried about. Measure the space along the blue PCI slot from the edge of the case to where the RAM is, then get a card with a length that fits.
You could play some games at the lowest graphics settings with that, but to play everything new in 2022 you’ll need something with at least double the capabilities of that card. It could work for casual gaming, but I’d go for one featured in my videos if you’re wanting to play something more competitive.
730 is meh... it means 7.3 frames per second :D that card is only useable as a "display-adapter" for having a picture on the monitor and nothing more. Some newer integrated Intel HD/UHD/Iris Graphics can do the same as the GT730. go at least for a NVIDIA 1030 (90 to 100$) or T600 (about 210$, GPU for Workstation but also good for gaming) or GTX1650 (also about 200$) or AMD RX 6400 (about 170 to 210$). But avoid GTX 1050ti (still !! about 200$). That card is old and expensive and have less power than T600 or GTX 1650. All cards I've listed for you are low-profile compatible.
The graphics card will have an HDMI port, so I’m guessing you mean your monitor can only do VGA? If that’s the case, I’ve been there. You’ll have to head over to Amazon and get an adapter to convert the HDMI from your card to VGA (just make sure the conversion is in the right direction and that it is the proper male/female for your set up).
not really. but it could be almost on limit already with the new GPU. There's not much headroom for further upgrades. CPU, HDD, RAM, Fans, all that needs power too. normally this PSU have about 200 to 250 watts of power. GPU needs up to 75 watts, CPU needs about up to 40 watts, HDD and RAM will consume an extra of 15 to 50 watts depending of if you have only a SSD or 1 SSD paired with 1 or 2 HDDs and the amount in GB and count of RAM installed.
in a HP EliteDesk 800G1 SFF about 65°C on CPU and 70°C on GPU (Intel i5 4570 with NVIDIA T600) on hard gaming with the fans clearly audible in mid-range. but it runs 5 year old AAA-games at 1080p with low settings just fine at 60 fps. (or you can do medium settings at 30 fps but I prefer more fps than quality) Not ideal temps of course but in acceptable range. A PS3 with less power makes more noise than that PC. (Just for comparing)
Just make sure you measure the length of the space first. Most of the small form factor Optiplex’s have about .5” variance in the available space, and the ones with the smaller space could have trouble fitting the dual fan cards.

It needs to be single-width for the pcie 16x slot, so I’d go with the GT 1030. It’s the best one with a VGA port.

Nope. It gets all its power from the pcie slot.
