- 14 Year old Smash is chasing his fist Red Stag to take home and feed his family. In the last year with the help of the GBC we have got this keen, fit well mannered young man onto his first wild sow, boar, red hind and now we are after a red stag. What you're doing with these young boys / young men is amazing Clay. My father passed away when I was 11 months old and I was always at a loss for a father figure in my life. I can't tell you what I would have done or paid to have somebody like you introduce me to life like you are these young men. Keep on doing what you're doing for as long as you can. I'm sure you can imagine the influence you're having on these boys but if you can't, let me tell you as somebody who grew up without a father figure it's something unreplaceable and unmeasurable. Love what you do. Its very admirable. Love and peace to you bro.
Got Smash the heart on that comment mate. My folks separated when I was 10 and although I got to know my dad well in later years I really struggled to find my own way into manhood without a dad being around as a boy & teen so I relate totally to what you are saying RS. Thank you
R S I totally agree! In fact, I was thinking the exact same thing as I rolled into the first comment which was this one!! I grew up with an active father who took us out each weekend and involved us in scouting etc but I knew guys who either didn’t have a father figure or had a piss poor excuse for one so I can testify that each hour u spend with these boys could literally affect generations going forward, especially during their formative years!! You’re an inspiration Clay! The work that matters most is that which continues to produce and grow long after we are gone! That is the work you’re undertaking and you’re doing a fine job from what I’ve seen!!

Appreciating what you are doing for these young men. And what a great set of supporters you have involved to help out. I think we all look back on our youth days and know people like you need to be around to channel them down the right path. Had a few "Clays" keep me on the right path in the past.

Your a good man Clay. My old man passed when I was only young but I was fortunate enough to be taken out pighunting, deer stalking and diving by my next door neighbour we lived on a remote coastal wairarapa sheep and beef station. He showed me the ropes as they say, the dos and donts. Forever thankful to you Paul Peeti.
Losing your dad young is a tough one mate. Great to hear there was a good bastard around to step up and get some hunting in for you as a boy.
He smash good job its not the kill, but knowing that the it will end up feeding a couple of people. Sharing food is comfort for the soul. And thanks clay for taking them out.

Done this for years while meat hunting on the West Coast in the late 60`s and 70`s now had one knee replacement and waiting for a hip replacement 68yrs young wouldn`t have it any other way go boys, makes men out of boys.
