I've only had to contact Connecting Thread customer service twice. And both times I was blown away with the awesome customer service. So accommodating and helpful. Sorry you had a bad experience.
Hey Becky, Thank you for letting us know about Embrilliance. I downloaded the free version and love it. Would never had known if you hadn't mentioned it.
I laughed so much during this video…you cracked me up!! Also, I TOTALLY understand the blocks not coming out to the right size! Isn’t that just so frustrating when its smaller than it should be UGH! Hear, hear 😂!
Good morning. I live in Dallas area. Love your video’s. And I watch your videos more than once sometimes. You do a great job explaining the technical aspects of computers and quilting. Could you put a link to your blog in the space under your videos.
oh ugh wide leg… I had them in the 70’s, them my kids in the 80’s and now again? I was forever getting them twisted up in my legs as I walked….and I am a faller lol/😂
Just checked the Connecting Threads pattern errata page and they did put up a notation for a Mercantile BOM #2 fabric correction. Somebody followed up, BUT that doesn't make up for poor customer phone service. I think Mari Martin must have retired, she was very good with her pattern pages.
Thank you, Becky! I am traveling and planned to sew set 2 of my Mercantile when I arrive home next week.....truly appreciate the heads up on pattern errors!!! I am also a bit frustrated with CT. I am not happy with one of my blocks from set 1 (OCD....haha) so want to remake it and need a piece of fabric which may....or may not.....be coming back in stock. I had to purchase a fat quarter bundle to assure I had a replacement piece so looks like I’ll have lots of pillows to match my quilt. 🙂 Love, love, love your videos!! Blessings!
Yes I saw that! Crazy! I couldn't find my 10 spool one for the same amount but I did come across the 20. I sure have used that on this project. Thanks!
Becky, We all have so much respect for you that's why we watch your VLOG all the time. You are terrific. My question for you is how do you file your designs? I'm drowning up here (PA) in designs with no way to file them. I'm computer illerate see I can't even spell it. Alice
Love your information. I made a quilt two years ago and pattern was missing finished sizes I was so frustratied my sister and I had to improvise..Then I took to a long arm guilter and she had skipped stitches . I took it back but she took out missing stitches. I was very upset.
That is so frustrating when you spend so much time, effort, and money on a quilt top and then little details are missed. I'm glad she fixed it but it's still a shame that you had to endure that.
Becky, I have no interest in embroidering. I watch you because I like to listen to you giving us all that info. It helps when I go to the quilting store and hear those women talking about it at least to not be parallel with the subject. I just realized how little interest I have in embroidering. Man...one needs a lot of motivation to go through all that ordeal with the threads and files and computer stuff plus what if :1. thread breaks, 2. program gets stuck , 2,3,,4...etc. The prices for all those machines...you are all brave women. I am knitting while I listen to you , lol! Same goes for Joy or Vivmom. I go through fazes: now i am knitting. I might sew next week, who knows? I need to post another cooking video soon but who cares watching? Cheers to all! Catalina
There is a lot of ordeal in embroidering isn't there? Unless you do it for money, you're never going to get your investment back on just personal projects. It's just another creative outlet to play with I guess. Me? I'd rather give birth than knit! I have absolutely no interest in knitting or any other hand needle craft. I'm a Power Tool girl for sure. But I'm glad you watch! lol
"I'd rather give birth than knit " hahaha! I think is something that connects me with the past. As mom got older and she can't knit anymore visiting her this month it felt even funny : in my childhood she would knit while I was drawing or coloring , now is the other way around, I was knitting while she was coloring a book . " LOL. Obviously I watched you , Viv, Joy and knitting podcasts...I am so grateful for the youtube community and all podcasters like yourself. Very inspiring.
hiya there, can you tell me what size the pole stand is..piece inbetween. As i have top and bottom..but missing piece connect it together.. Can you give me the measurements please. thanx
Hi Becky, I recently found your videos and I’m hooked! I really enjoy watching you and learning from you. You’re so easy to relate to! Anyhow, I read on Facebook that you have an easy way of changing thread colors using that embroidery thread tree with a single needle embroidery machine. I’m guessing you tie a knot between the old thread and the new thread and pull the new thread through the thread path. What type of knot do you use and is there anything in particular to watch out for? Thanks and I’m gonna go sew something! Lol ... thanks!
Becky, just wanted to let you know that the Trapunto Seashell Runner has a listed web address that does not work to download the patterns. I went to www.ameliescott.com and there is 2 corrections for this pattern. That is where is the designs are available also. Maybe you have discovered that already but thought I would still make it known. I do plan to join you in making the table runner and I need to get my fabric and supplies rounded up. Thank you for your computer lesson it was very informative and helpful. Look forward to your video blogs each week.
Hey Becky - I love your videos. I think you should join me in the Moda At the Seashore quit along because I need another obsessed quilter joining me - ha! I have so many projects to sew but joined this one too. I think the quilt will be perfect for your vacation home. Go to Moda Bake Shop blog for info.
The one on the wall in the shadow box was for me from when I retired from the USAF back in 2003. It was flown over the Texas state capitol and presented to me at my retirement. :)
Hi Tynee! That's great! I'm sure you'll love it. I'll be making more videos I'm sure using that software. Here's a blog post I did awhile back with some details. So happy for you! Enjoy! powertoolswiththread.com/2018/09/23/automated-machine-embroidered-applique-with-brother-scan-n-cut-simply-applique/
Oh, I wish I could share it! That would be fun. Unfortunately, they call that intellectual property theft and I could be sued, banned from RUclips or BOTH! ACK! :)
I bought Simply Applique after watching your videos. I can cut the shapes with Scan and Cut, create my Pes file with S.A. but how do I know where to place the fabric in the hoop to make it sew out correctly. After i have ironed the fusible shape to the material, then what? I' m missing something here. How do i get the outline to match up to where my shape is on the fabric? Could u possibly do a video? I spent the money on the program but dont see how to use the file I create. :-(
You're almost there! Simply Applique turns things around a bit that can be counter intuitive in your head. Print out the shape from the program so you have a visual to look at. Fold the paper into quarters first so it folds easy, then open it up and place it against your project. I'm right handed so I keep it exactly where I want it with my left hand and carefully fold it back into quarters holding it steady against the project. Then with my right hand, I put a target sticker (dot with a crosshair on it) just under the center corner to mark the center of the design. Easier yet, use a crosshair laser. Once the center is marked, I hoop the project. Go to the machine and put your needle over the crosshair and remove the sticker. Then SA will stitch out a placement line. Iron your fabric exactly on the line, then the 2nd stitch will tack it down. The 3rd stitch will do the blanket or satin stitch. Hope this helps!
The funny thing is, I nolonger watch regular television! I watch you, Joy, Viv, and a few more!
I've only had to contact Connecting Thread customer service twice. And both times I was blown away with the awesome customer service. So accommodating and helpful. Sorry you had a bad experience.
Your T-shirt is so cute.
Love, love, love your thread tree and how you picked the colors for your gnome bag.
Love to watch you!!! Lots of good tips and ideas!!!! Don’t need regular tv when there are these wonderful videos!!!!
Yes, I've just popped over to Joy, then you and then Vivmom. You are such a great gang, lots of laughs and good info.
I use round foam make up pads under my thread spools, works great for me.
Love your videos. You are always sooo busy, love it! Such good information too!

Love the panel would like to see when you finished the quilt .the Christmas tree quilt looks great
When I was editing the video, the images don't do it justice. I'm definitely making up the little one very soon. I've go so many irons in the fire...
oh ugh wide leg… I had them in the 70’s, them my kids in the 80’s and now again? I was forever getting them twisted up in my legs as I walked….and I am a faller lol/😂

Glad to have helped. It sure confuses me!
Thank you for the info on the thread tree!! I have wanted one forever. Brother wants over $100 and doesn't hold that meaning spools.
Yes I saw that! Crazy! I couldn't find my 10 spool one for the same amount but I did come across the 20. I sure have used that on this project. Thanks!

Mahalo once again, you are soooo funny, Aloha from Hawaii
I don't know where you are at, but I sew all year. If I can all day.
Girl, if I could sew all day, every day, that's all I would do. I'm so envious of you! Lucky girl!
