As a simracer for 15 years, and track marshal for 3, we are all one big family
Absolutely true Tom 😃 in both, real and sim I always felt that family feeling even if we are competing on track! Is really beautiful feeling to mix with people who share that same passion 😃
One that should be up there or an honorable mention is Mixed Reality Sim Racing.
VR headset w/ camera on the headset & facing him, then fully wrapped green screen w/ cutouts for his wheel, shifter, and button box. This allowed him to race in VR while seeing his real hands, wheel, etc and look behind him to see out the back of the car. And the second camera would record his real body in the drivers seat.
Some of my friends play football or cricket, but I drive fake race cars in my bedroom and I love it. 🏎🏎🏎
Cars are not real but racing is 💪😃
Don’t even try to explain that to people who are not part of sim racing. For us sim racers it’s a dream to have a rig like those guys. As you said my gears just make me HAPPY. It’s a feeling only sim racers can understand.

it's very difficult to explain it to someone, but I still think we all should try. Even if just every 50th person understands it, gives it a try, and loves it as much as we do, I would consider that a success and worth the 49 people who don't understand us.

Aside from all the fancy gear and setups, I must say by far out of many simracers I follow, you seem to have the most humble approach to this hobby. Sharing your passion and setups in your own unique way is why I keep coming back to view your channel. You have a very special way of communicating to your audience and love for the simsport. Makes me feel that I'am like I'm not alone or crazy that Iam deeply invested in such a great hobby that makes us happy. Keep it up and hope one day I will race you on the virtual track!

Surrounded with people who don’t understand why I’m investing so much time in games ( that’s how most of there think about this 😁) was not fun but there are so many people like us around the world 💪

I'm quite "late to the market" (started at 63 years of age last year. My motivation is reversing the feeling of deteriorating memory. Think about it, if you want to improve your time in time trials (Rally) you have to get to know every bump and rock.So in terms of braintraining this beats playing memory with my grandkids.
Did some 800 hours last year during which I got myself a Sim Lab rig on which I bolted a seat from a Smart obtained from our local junk yard. PS4, single screen (but a good one), Thrustmaster T300RS, shifter and handbrake.
My brain is doing better, memory seems to pick up nicely, and my times are improving, sometimes reaching the top 50 in the total ranking.
Hope to be here and share with the community of e-racers for a long time. I love this channel

Yes I agree I am 60 this year & only got into sim racing last year as we know can be a mindfield setting up your rig. I have to say that RBM posts such great motivational & passionate vidoes with passion & so humble with a very unique way of getting the message across - yes we are competitive - we love racing & more than that we love the kick we get from sim racing

I've been into cars since the day I got my conscience and consequently been into motorsports, racing for my whole life. You're one of the people out there who I respect so much because you genuinely don't even seem like but actually HAVE insane amount of passion and it shows in every one of your videos, I hope to one day build a rig that fully immerses me into my passion the way you and alot of these guys have done. Kudos to you and keep on inspiring likeminded people cus not only you're inspiring them to just go and buy stuff but also inspiring people to work hard for such investments thus building character in the outside world.

I have triple 27" and went nuts when i saw this channel, and the awesome setup. Went to VR and loving it also, but when i watch a video like this i want triple 42" with role cage and safety nets! lol
Great footage from all these rigs! Amazingly realistic! To me it’s all about putting a smile on your face…I’m always happy when I’m in my modest rig….even if I’m not racing and just adding things to it I don’t really need!😂 that’s probably my favourite part if I’m honest👍🙂

another satisfying video... it's true it's about a passion...i very new to sim racing but absolutely love it..my rig will be done in stages ,,building my computer now (it's a beast) im using a entry thrustmaster tmx but, am buying cls dd for a first DD and im using a few que's from your rig for my own..yes it is expensive but as you put it,,"i invest in my happiness"....really appreciate you always bringing us together rather than a bunch of negative banter..we are a family ..i love the culture and all that jiva....cheers mate

Not disagreeing with your list and I’m glad you did this. Omar’s setup looks insane, I have never seen i before.
Personally I think Will from boosted media channel should have at least a mention in a list like this. His setup is also totally insane and always blurring the lines between reality or game.
The reason I don’t mention Will is because he is well known and I’m sure there is no single viewer here who doesn’t know his awesome setup 😁
It would be just waisted time in my opinion for the viewer as , as I’ve said this is not competition or competition but ideas from people who are not seen !
Will has spent a lot of money and somehow his setup doesn't look impressive at all compared to the ones in this video. What's more, i spend more time watching other sim racers than Will, i don't understand why but his racing videos are plain boring. I do love his reviews though, he is one of the best sim racing reviewers out there.

@@RobertoOrtis He is a salesman... he gets free gear and big discounts. It isn't a feat to have an expensive rig when somebody else gave it to you in exchange for reviews that never seem to be negative, interesting.

I always have to try and explain myself and this passion to friends and family. Met very few truly passionate people about the hobby and I appreciate them every day for aiding my guidance toward one of the biggest money pits in my life. It was worth every single hard-working hour I've put into it as well. It's not even about the car in general, but about how fast you can push them to the limit (which I don't get to do very often without a rig) Love the video man, well said.

You're so down to hearth and humble, despite your talent. Many people could learn from you.. Explaining this passion to anyone is very hard. My wife tolerates it, so I consider myself lucky but most of the time we have to face laugh or incomprehension at best. Investing is not bad if it's not to pass on real life duties. For me the golden rule is racing only when kids are not around (sleeping, away from the house..). I manage to race around 8h per week

After buying my first sim rig in 2017 and inevitably ending up with an extrusion rig, I too have arrived at this point. Just bought a heap of PVC piping, race nets, clips, buckles, straps, rivets etc etc. Hopefully I can replicate a similarly immersive experience, that's the intention anyway. Wish me luck!

I am new here to an old video, but your humbleness is outstanding. I am currently building a rig myself, one day to hopefully have one as nice as yours. I am def not in the same league, yet. I too get questions and comments all the time about how come I invest so much into something not real... My answer is, excuse me, but it is real. All the equipment I have is real, maybe the track and car I use are virtual but the experience is very real.... Then I tell my friends that if you think it is a waste of money and effort why don't you come and play on my rig and then go back to yours and then you will understand the difference, and my rig isn't even all that great but it is to me and that's all that matters. I am now in the market for the cockpit and the triple monitor stand, already have triple 32" screen setup. My next venture is creating the roof with the lighting effects. I really am on the fence about the cockpit, only because I also use my setup for work, so having it being on the desk and easily convertible from work to play is a key factor for me also. IDK maybe once I get the triple 55" screens (dream screens) then I will just have desk close by for work and no more converting. but again that's after the cockpit and 55" screens.... hoping to get there this next year (2024).... Absolutely Fantastic video RBM. I don't have the money or resources to do these types of things, so I still race with a G29 on a simple A-Frame stand. But every month (except in these Covid times now) I get together with my Brother, and we pick a random car and track and Hotlap it till one of us can't beat the others time in a pre-chosen time cuttoff........ awesome fun for both of us, RBM
P.S. I'd like to give a Shout-out to another great Rig-Setup Channel called Mixed Reality Sim Racing. He doesn't have the time to do it much now, but it is a fantastic channel all the same...

Was that a wee Jim Beam bourbon you were enjoying at the start of the vid! I'll never get to wrestle a race car round a track, even just for fun. But I can take part in actual races against real people from around the world (once I get my standard up) because of Sim Racing, without having to leave my flat. Plus, when you share your rig and other Racers' rigs, and the work that has gone in to creating that realism, I know I'm only limited by imagination, desire and dedication.
