As a mom on day 5 with baby #2, thank you for this. Just the words “day three is really hard” made my cry with relief that what I’m feeling is normal 💜.
I’m so glad I found this video, I was so sure I was going crazy! He just won’t stop crying and wanting to be fed. I don’t even have any of the issues talked about in this video but something definitely is different today vs yesterday and the day before. He’s so fussy I had to look it up and came across this video. Thank you, you made me feel so much better.
I have been watching these videos over and over in preparation for my third. I am 2 days postpartum and latching has been a bit of a learning curve! I was convinced that my latch was bad and that my nipples were sore due to the bad latch. Now I'm thinking it might be normal! I am scheduling a consult with a lactation consultant at my hospital tomorrow just to be sure! Thank you so much for the videos! The reassurance that the first week is hard but to have patience is a blessing!!!
Day 3 is definitely the hardest!!! My milk fully came in and I was not prepared. I had not really planned out my breastfeeding journey because I just kind of wanted to go with the flow and thought I would just try it out. I didn’t have a pump and by the end of the day I was so engorged I was in tears. My boyfriend had to go to Walmart at 2am to get me a manual pump. I’m glad I stuck with it though because the journey has definitely been worth it!
Definitely agree day 3 is the hardest. With my first (14 years ago) I didn’t have all these resources and didn’t know what I was doing. Hospital sent me home with no help. It was then that I broke and formula fed my first. You videos and knowledge helped with my second(June 2019). Expecting my 3rd in February and thank you for these videos. Really helpful and will rewatch when After I give birth to remind me to hang in there.
First time mom currently in day 3 and I thought I was going crazy. I swear it’s like every time he cries I cry. And so surprised when I noticed my shirt was wet…I’m lactating!? Oh geez this is harder than I thought it would be but I know I can get thru it. This video was so helpful and so refreshing to see. It was nice. Thank you
Allison, thank you so much for these videos. I am getting ready for this journey , do you do consultations online personally or can you recommend anyone in particular (I live in Florida) . Thank you again!
I’m on day 3, I have cracked nipples and a bad latch (someone is coming today to help us with this today) this video was so refreshing to watch, I feel like I’m sat with a friend having a talk & finally feel like someone gets what I’m going through, thank you for posting these types of video x
So much love and healing your way Shannon! That’s exactly why I made this video. I remember the hard days but it’s easy to forget once you’re past them. Hang in there and glad you’re getting some help! 💕
I'm currently on day 3, my son is eating a lot. Laying down feeding him definitely helps the both of us. His latch is good. I feel the let downs but should I worry if I see no soiled diapers ??
I never experienced the milk coming in or engorged breasts. I tried to pump a lot from day 3 onwards but didn’t really get much - she would get too fussy in the boob and struggled to keep her on for more than 5 mins. Should I be worried for baby #2 (due November) or is there every chance things will go to plan this time?
You should see your local lactation consult so they can get a full history and give you a better idea. It’s quite uncommon to not have your milk come in at all, so I’m guessing there’s someone else going on here.
@@NewLittleLife thank you for your reply. I will mention it to my midwife - I’m not sure if we have lactation consultation in the uk / nhs? I will check x

Thank you for this video. You said everything on my mind and validated what is happening.

Thank you for sharing!! Congratulations on little one #3 💕
Nipple shield is a nice break if you are sore but don't use too long. Maybe every other feed.
Thank you so much. Very helpful

Day 3 is often one of the hardest. Take comfort in knowing that! Hang in there! It won’t always be this hard 💙💙

Probably should be seeing 3 wet or dirty diapers on day 3, if not contact your peditrician
❤

I know you do in the UK! I know many up there. Your midwife should be able to find you one or help you herself :)
My baby surged on day 2. 8 hrs of feeding- not kidding. Terrible. Day three should be better for me cuz two was awful.
