Thank you so so much for this. I'm crying because engorgement is overwhelming and this really gave me some tools. I was using the haka a lot and one breast is way more tender/painful than the other. Such a fine line on what to do about it...
Same here. 4 weeks postpartum and one of my breasts is double the size of the other. I exclusively pump since my baby don’t wanna take the boob and I’m not quite sure why one is so engorged.
Omg this just made me feel better I was so distressed I thought I was doing something wrong not that it happens to all of us. Thank you these tips so helpful 😃
Im having a second new born now and i feel so sorry for me who couldn’t find this video when I had a huge trouble with breastfeeding with first one. Every single sentence you said is so true!!!!
I literally just sat here with you and followed the reverse pressure steps and it worked immediately! I was just so desperate! Thank you and I did like and subscribe ❤️❤️❤️
Oh gosh! I’m on day 4 and I’m so engorged. I just gave birth to triplets and they are in the nicu. I thought I had to keep pumping. Thank you so much! I’m going to try these tips because I’m so swollen
Wish the lactation consultant at my hospital had explained this to me. All she did was correct the latch and walk away. Didn't realize engorgement was a thing until I got a clogged duct on day 4 😭
Thank you so much for this video. I'm currently on my fourth day and aghh I've felt so much discomfort. But this video gave me comfort cause I am so terrified of getting mastitis. I breastfed my both my boys and it's been so long and forgot everything your body goes through when breastfeeding.
I’m engorged on the right but barely any milk comes out so he screams. The left side is fine. Do I still feed him with the right? Nothing is coming out. Maybe 1/10th of an ounce. I have been crying for 2 days. You said to keep feeding but he’s crying on that side. Help!
I was pumping extra to see if I could empty it but I just watched the video and looks like I probably made it worse. I thought since a tiny itty bit of milk came out that maybe it was clogged. But I don’t know!
What if you never have engorgement? And never feel your milk coming in? I started supplementing in the hospital because my baby was losing too much weight and I breastfed for hours and hours and I have no idea when my milk came in.... but my supply was always really low. Is it possible he always ate everything I produced?
It’s fairly uncommon to have no/or very little milk come in ever, but it does happen. A lactation consultant could look at your medical history and situation and give you a better answer I think!
@@NewLittleLife yeah, I think I was the case. Now it’s too late. But at the moment I was asking a LC and my obgyn and they didn’t know how to help me. At the end I concluded that I have insufficient glandular tissue. But I might be wrong because I self diagnosed that. Next time I will try another LC....
My first daughter was too small and. Dint latch properly ended up in formula, second one was Pro in latching but she drinks for hours and was never satisfied. I wanted to raise them so ended up in formula. I am pregnant again and will try breastfeeding again. Hope I succeeded with help of this video.
I felt like this happened to me with my first son 4 yrs ago. I am currently on day 4 and super engored! i do not rememebr EVER being like this my first pregnancy i remmeber ONE time being engorged i pumped once and that was it. But this time I have gone 24 hrs since symptoms for engorment first started and i cant take it any more i have been crying aboht it….
Just watched your video and what advise do you have for me I’m day 4 postpartum but tested positive for COVID and i wish I’ve seen this sooner but I’ve been pumping all day. Would you breastfeed with baby while having COVID?
Yes!! “Should you breastfeed while you're sick?? and how to keep your baby healthy” ruclips.net/video/n5jZ0Jexcfo/видео.html Im so sorry you’re struggling with this at 4 days PP ❤️🩹 hoping for a speedy recovery for you
I'm a few weeks in and my baby is starting to sleep through the night (yay) but now my breasts are engorged every morning to the point I'm waking in the middle of the night leaking and in pain. I spoke to a lactation consultant and all they recommended was to try to pump at night instead of the morning which I was doing after the first feed to make a small supply. It isn't working :(
I showered with hot water, massaged my breast and used a heat pad but the lumps won’t go away. What should I do?! It’s been 9 days since I gave birth. Hoping this doesn’t lead to mastitis..
I'm so engorged on day 3.5 , and I'm so engorged the pain is unbearable and my baby is having a hard time latching and my nipples are extremely sore. It's hard not to turn to that temporary relief of pumping 🥺
It’s not all milk, it’s often swelling too. But use your hands to soften the breast up so baby can latch on. Pump just a tiny bit if you have to, maybe use a haakaa.. do what you gotta do to get through it! 🙈
My baby has jaundice and is going through light therapy, right now he is 3 days old and my milk is coming in and my breasts are engorged..i’m exclusively pumping so i can send him milk, how do i know how much to pump to relieve my breasts but also to keep supply up and not over make milk?
I definitely recommend working with your hospitals lactation consultant to come up with a plan! They will know you’re whole story. Keep to your schedule, don’t stress too much about pumping too much and causing an oversupply, your situation is unique and you have enough to stress about! Keep on your schedule, you’re doing a great job 💕
Just seeing this video I literally struggle so hard the first 6 months breastfeeding . Engorgmenet has never gone away and I never pumped. This one I'm thinking of pumping instead but I've heard it makes it worse . I suffer really bad with burning between breasts especially at night when I'm sleeping , tons of engorgement though and oversupply throughout breastfeeding . What can you do for oversupply ? I've tried it all it feels like . I'm due in november and I'm most worried about breastfeeding again .
Thank you for helping me realize it’s all normal and won’t last forever 🙏🏻

I wished I had watched his video 2days ago... Very SERIOUS about don't PUMP...

I’m so glad!!! Exactly the reason I made this video 💕
Im having a second new born now and i feel so sorry for me who couldn’t find this video when I had a huge trouble with breastfeeding with first one. Every single sentence you said is so true!!!!
I filmed this right as I was going through it myself!!!!! 💙 It’s amazing how much experiences can be similar isn’t it..
I literally just sat here with you and followed the reverse pressure steps and it worked immediately! I was just so desperate! Thank you and I did like and subscribe ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so happy to hear it!!! 💕

I had the pump out, ready to go... Thanks for stopping me just in time!
Same! Haha
Amazing video. Day 4 and have been struggling. This was really helpful thank you 💕
Great and helpful video! I got a pump and used it twice before watching this video...ill continue to use my haaka ladybug.
Wish the lactation consultant at my hospital had explained this to me. All she did was correct the latch and walk away. Didn't realize engorgement was a thing until I got a clogged duct on day 4 😭
I used the Haakaa on day 4 and 5 just to catch the leaking during a few feedings. I just held it there.
What is harmful about using a haakaa more than once a day in these early days? And when is it “safe” to start using the haakaa regularly?
Thank you so much for this video. I'm currently on my fourth day and aghh I've felt so much discomfort. But this video gave me comfort cause I am so terrified of getting mastitis. I breastfed my both my boys and it's been so long and forgot everything your body goes through when breastfeeding.
What to do if 1 breast works great but the other has scarring & doesn't hardly work at all?
Pump non working side & feed from the good 1???
What should I do if I only exclusively pump in this situation?
Ahh I have engorged on my right and I'm over here massaging and pumping to help it.. my breast is so Hard!
Thank you so much for info
So for someone who plans to exclusively pump will this still be symptoms on day 4? If so do you treat the same?
Probably similar, but just keep on your pump schedule. All other recommendations would also work well for you.

Yes keep feeding! See a lactation consultant if you’re still struggling 💕

Yes try another LC. That should be within their scope to help you or at least come up with an idea as to why. Good luck!

You should express throughout the night

Feed the baby as often as possible! Try warmth and massage while feeding. Good luck!
If you are encouraged don’t let shower water beat on your breast!! World of pain will be upon you
I'm so engorged on day 3.5 , and I'm so engorged the pain is unbearable and my baby is having a hard time latching and my nipples are extremely sore.
It's hard not to turn to that temporary relief of pumping 🥺
Try some reverse pressure softening. Google that and give it a go!
My baby crying alot and starving. Day 3 right now and i dont know what to do. Should i give very little bit formula? nothing really coming out on me.
You certainly can. I recommend finding help from an IBCLC too as soon as you can!
UGH DAY 4!!!!!
But the engorgement is preventing latching and feeding!! My baby is starving how do I get the milk out!!
It’s not all milk, it’s often swelling too. But use your hands to soften the breast up so baby can latch on. Pump just a tiny bit if you have to, maybe use a haakaa.. do what you gotta do to get through it! 🙈

Hi! my baby is going through the exact same thing. what did they recommend you do? i pretty much exclusively pump to bring him milk..
I have a forehead for breasts right now. :/ it feels like I’m carrying around hot bricks. I did pump a little the third day. 😳
It gets better! 🙈 Just the worst though, I know!
