Razer Seiren X Review - Still Worth It In 2022!?

- Today we are reviewing the Razer Seiren X, which is a mid priced, plug and play, USB Condenser Microphone, that brings some compelling features to the table and is going to be a good option to consider for those of you wanting to step into content creation, streaming, or just wanting to up your voice quality. I will also compare it with the Seiren mini.

I don't know who this will help, but if you're on windows and you have weird issues with staticky noises or an occasional popping sound in the playback testing of your Razor Sieren X, the solution I found after hours of testing and forum scouring was the following:
Open settings> System>Sound >Sound Control Panel (look on the right side) >Recording Tab >right-click Razor Sieren X>select Properties from the dropdown >Custom Tab >uncheck AGC >Advanced Tab > Default Format should be 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000hz (DVD Quality)
I also have both areas checked in the Exclusive Mode, but I can't remember if those were automatically ticked right out of box or not. It's been a couple of years lol. I've read the reason this issue happens is because windows 10 can occasionally be really funky with mics, and sometimes on setup it automatically sets some mics to a lower hz than the quality what the mic was intended for, causing distortion, static, or pops.
Also, if you want to make the mic sound better or crispier for discord calls or in-game coms, I recommend looking up videos how to set up VoiceMeeter and EQ properly. If you're streaming / recording with the seiren x as your starter mic, look into Reaper Plug-ins for OBS. They've been a godsend for my audio tbh. Anyway, hope this was useful for somebody! 😊

I would go for the X if you are getting them for free. It's is more so just what you can get at that same price point of the X that makes it hard to go for, where as with the Mini it actually sits in a good spot being among the best of its competition.

so the mic on my astro A50's gen 3 took a dump. Game sound wise, the headset still works fine, but the mic has just gotten worse. Instead of replacing the entire headset, i've been looking at getting a desktop USB mic. Would you recommend the seiren x for someone like me who just wants a mic to talk and game with friends using discord? not looking at content creation.
i use my razer's headphones mic, and i want to get a better mic because my breathing is really loud in the recording, and when i move the mic further i can barely be heard so i came here to see if this one is worth it. I prefer razer for it color scheme i want my peripherials to be good but also match.

would a small booth box work with heavily reducing sound from table bumps, keyboard typing, outside sources (car honks, dog barking, relatives/roommates passing by and make noise, etc.) as such?
if not sure what im talking about itsthose foam boxes where you can place your microphone inside of. has a hole in bottom or side for cable or stand to go through it.
Would it work with other sounds like (bombs, gunfire, explosions, chants, etc)
Is it possible to set this to boot up muted? I would prefer default muted until I'm ready to hit the button to unmute? Synapse isn't needed for this so is it just not possible without disabling it in windows every time?
Mine has a constant feedback and crackling sound that I'm absolutely unable to fix.

I cant figure out how to set up the software for the siren X. It picks up way too much to be usable without the integrated discord noise suppression.

well, i got this mic like 3 years ago and its great and all but theres a problem, the cable, when i plug it in the mic i have to tilt it to the right angle so it could work, why is that?
Been loving the Siren Mini for the past year, picked it up for only $30. However, watching this and looking to upgrade to the X or X2 literally only because of the mute button. It seemed like such a small feature at the time but it is infuriatingly annoying to have to tab out of things to mute or unmute Zoom/Teams/Discord both during work and playing games. Not a fan of it always recording but I guess that minimalism was intentional on Razer's part.
You can bind mute on discord for any button you want, i have it on numpad 0

@@ratluc5236 true, but for me i also use outplayed and if i dont want the mini to pick up my voice, i have to turn it off in the outplayed settings, then restart my game which is pretty annoying to do

i bought this mic arrived yesterday literally sucks my wifi router causes it to make a terrible feedback clicking noise and theres no fix
my microphone is bidirectional pickup pattern for some reason out of the box

Seiren X user here, its still going strong. I use it along with Steel Series' Sonar app for EQ and Noise Cancellation. It's really great if you are in a budget.
Never heard of the Sonar app. Is it a big upgrade in regards to its quality with the configurations? Also do you use a boom arm with yours?
@@bryan9116 Sonar has noise cancellation which i think is required for this mic as it picks almost every sound in the direction its facing. I also use a boom arm to get rid of desk noise
i bought a new one and i connected it to my pc but it doesnt work (it lights up but doesn't have any vc sounds) tried doing many tuto like going to sounds options and checking the mic volume and it is 100% and did many more things do u know why it is not working?
i have a USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port on my pc and tried both of them and lead to no avail
when i connect it to my headphone and pc at the same time i cant hear anything i am talking but instead a very low sounds from the computer audio

The only difference is mute button which can be helpful in some situations BUT seiren x has issue when it pickups interference from wifi

Hi, i recently got a seiren x, and as from many other videos as well as yours, the sound actually comes out clear without any additional adjustment. however for mine, there is always a sound im unsure if its air or static whenever i speak, wanna check if anyone know what might be the issue and how should i deal with it

Chingle Space, I do not have the microphone, but seeking for information around internet I discovered that the USB cable that Razer sells seems to be affected by products that use some kind of signal (a wi-fi modem, or your phone, etc); just try to put the microphone and the usb cable far from those and you will be fine. Hope it helps!
The best thing I do to combat that is to add and adjust a noise gate or noise suppression filter if using an OBS. Takes that sound right out.
Go into sound settings and change the dbs to different, it will pick up just your voice and no fizz or air like fffff.
Mic sounds better then whichever one you are using.
Does it have a option for noice cancellation?

Should I upgrade my 2 month old Mini to an X? The Seiren X in my place is just 60$ now. I just cant resist thinking of it.
I say go for it, it has a lot more features and sound quality is a lot better for the little price difference :)
You need to play with settings to get this to sound halfway decent so, even if he didn't do any post-work, he probably professionally adjusted it to make the mic not sound like garbled garbage

I'm not a huge fan of the seiren x I've had mine for a year and the usb port is already busted on the bottom I wouldn't recommend it anymore to anyone.
