The amazing thing about these old steam engines is you can remake every part on it with a small machine shop. They were made to last. 👍
It is great to see them still running!
Love all the steam engines and can not wait to see you restore that perfect handle wrench.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Gordon! The pipe wrench should be a fun project!
Thanks for the video. This was my favorite show when I lived at NYC during the 80's.They had apple dumplings and homemade ice cream.A special treat.
Jacktown is always a fun time!
Great video and nice haul of things from the show and glad to have had the pleasure to meet up with you again 👍
Good seeing you again!
Great video and a fantastic day out Love the pipe wrench 🍺👍
Thanks Brian! I had to dig for that one!
I always enjoy the tour and then the haul! Great video!
Thanks Bill! We had fun at the show!
Thanks for sharing videos of the show. Some cool looking steam engines! Excellent tool haul!
Thanks Robert! We had fun!
Old iron machines bring a smile to many.
The sights, sounds and smells of the old machines were great!
Looks like a great time at Jacktown. Those three ratchets are my favorite. They all look to be in good shape. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Robert! We had fun! I like the design of the Proto ratchets.
Thanks Magdad for taking us to Jacktown, Good stuff for sure. I like the idea of the brace with the "Universal" bit.
Thanks Dale! Dave came up with a clever idea!
Love that little ratchet screwdriver, that's a little treasure! Good finds Team Magdad :-)
I was happy to find it!
Nice tour around and tool finds.😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks Randy! We had fun!
Cool, looking forward to the restorations :)
Thanks Isaac! So am I!
Amazing video! I always love to see the engines used for saw milling! I’m always impressed by how many tools there are at jacktown. I’d love to make it there one day. That perfect handle wrench is my favourite but the p & c ratchet is a close second ! I like the Stanley plumb bob too. Great finds magdad.
Thanks Ian! Jacktown is always a blast!
Sure looks like a great time. I look forward to the restoration of the perfect handle pipe wrench, boy will that be a big job! Thanks for showing us some Jacktown footage!
We had fun! The little pipe wrench should be a good project!
That modified brace bit to hex driver is a brilliant idea.
Dave came up with a clever idea!
I would come home with a truck load if I were at a show like that, I have a love of old tools and machines, my weakness I guess. You did great on all the tools you brought home, Proto and S&K, are two of my favorites. Thanks for the ride along sir.
Thanks Terry! There is always lots to choose from at Jacktown!
You covered everything in the video! It was a great show! I think it was the most people there I have ever seen! Nice to meet the Mrs and hope to see her at future shows. Great stuff!
Mrs Magdad had fun! It was a great show!
Fun trip! I’d like to see those needle nose pliers brought back to life!
Thanks John! I bet there's a good pair of pliers under the rust!
Thanks for taking us along yeah you got some pretty cool stuff there thank you thank you for the video
Thanks Joe! It was a fun day!
Good to meet at the show. Glad you like the adapter for the brace.
I did not do a good job looking at the engine displays after I had been through the flea market. I appreciate the footage of the fellow with the wood engine displays. Very well done and very interesting. I knew the original airplane radial engines rotated the entire engine, but seeing the wood model makes this design even more interesting - and amazing that it worked.
My haul was a Yankee No 31 spiral screwdriver for my nephew and some machinist parallel blocks.
Very nice weather on the Saturday.
Dave.
It was great catching up with you Dave! I've been wanting to film those wood mechanisms for years. I finally had my lovely assistant with me this time to help!
Enjoyed seeing all the mechanical wood displays...those are neat! always love the walking around videos...some cool stuff up there... at first I though the yeller handle screwdriver was a proto like.some kf the ones i have...but it ended up being a much better brand 🧙♀️👍 the little wood handle ratcheting driver is the winner, 2nd is that plomb bob... glad yall had a good time!!
Thanks Vic! The ratcheting screwdriver was the first item I found and the plumb bob was the last!
You got some good stuff Magdad. That brace bit holder is neat. Take care 😃👍🏼
Thanks David!
I really enjoyed the video today! Looked like a good time. Thank You for sharing Magdad
Thanks Jack! We had a lot of fun!
Looked like a fun show. I liked the wood tool chests with period correct tools. The Tonka trucks I remember when they were brand new in every store. I still have a few of mine. The wrecker truck was awesome. Hard to find those that aren't totally wore out and beat up. My Dad used a Yankee drill also. He probably has 2 or 3 now lol. AL B.
It was a fun show Sally! Those Tonka toys have become very collectible!
I picked up that P&C and contemplated it…glad I left it for you to find haha
That's funny how we both spotted it! Great to see you again!
Very cool video. I hand filed a set of rings for a Cessna 172 a few weeks ago. Now it makes too much power. Had to send the prop off for repitch. Really cool old tools you got there. Amassing a collection of my own.
Jacktown always had a nice selection of old tools!
Hi Magdad , Some Good Pickups There . The P&C Co. Was Bought by Proto . I Got A Sliding T Handle of Theirs A Couple of Weeks Ago And Redid It Myself . It's 1/2 Drive . I Had Been looking for SC Johnson Wax to No Avail. But This Past Saturday At the Flea Market I Picked up Some Bowling lane Paste Wax For $2 ! Full Can and Perfect ! All Set Now to Wax And Protect my Tools.
Thanks Wayne! My can of Johnson's paste wax is getting low. Amazon wants big $$ for a new can! I'm gonna have to find a different wax!
Those shows are always fun! You got some great finds! Nice pocket knife!!
Thanks Mike!
Nice haul/tour MagDad
Thanks Sparky!
Looks like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing. You have so many shows in your area. We have none around here.
We had a blast! I am fortunate to live about an hour from Jacktown.
Engines sure have come a long way haven’t they Magdad! I especially like those p&c and Proto ratchets you picked up👍
I didn't see a computer hooked to any of them! I'm looking forward to working on those ratchets!
Looks like a very good time, and you picked up a good tool haul, thumbs up.
Thanks Ron!
Great to see you again! It was a beautiful day. Funny, I saw a man walking out with a steel goat under his arm, the one in the video!
Nice to see you again Tony! I hope the goat found a good home!
Good times Bud!! I was hoping the Mrs didn't see those Sewing Machines!! I guess it's OK if they were made from irreparable machines eh!!☻
It was good to catch up with you and Mike! She thought those Singer tractors were cool!
I sure miss being in the northeast during the fall months nothing like it. Awesome vid!👍
We saw some great fall colors on the ride to the show!
Looking forward to that Japanese needle nose restoration. And, that brace bit makes a brace actually usable. Gotta find one of those.
Thanks Ben! I'm hoping there is a good pair of pliers under all that rust! Dave wants me to include his brace bit adapter in my charity auction next month.
A good day outside...old steam engines...tools...and all with the Misses...a very good day...🖖
We had a great time Chuck!
Nice haul Magdad. I like that little yankee.
Thanks! Me too!
Nice haul! I really like that Yankee ratcheting driver!
Thanks Chris! I spotted the little red handle in a box of tools!
I would watch these motors all day
I always see something new at Jacktown!
Wow I missed a good turnout up there! The wooden interactive displays were awesome. I did good at a train show this week end so Im not to sore over it, lol. I will definitely get to the spring show.
The fall show is my favorite. Lots of cool engines to check out along with the flea market!
Love those antique engines! It's hard to believe how much pull they have with so much slack in the belts ... no tensioner needed lol but look like they could give you a very bad day if you get your hands in the wrong place!!
The belt that runs the saw mill has to be 50 feet long!
It was great to meet you. The brass is a 7.5x55 Swiss. It is for my K31 Swiss carbine. Close to 308, but a little longer.
It was great meeting you and your wife Kirk! I hope you had fun at the show!
Love the old tools you found. Maybe I'll come all the way from Washington one of these days. Anyway, loved the music. Give the Mrs a nod for me. I went on a thrift shop tour Friday and found about $65 worth of rusty tools. Wish I could find prices like I saw in your video. 😊
The big Jacktown May fleamarket is coming up soon!
@@357magdad Not sure I'm ready for that long of a trip.
Those wood machine parts were pretty cool.
I've been wanting to film them for years! I'm glad I had Mrs Magdad with me to help!
You don't see many of the Eagle 66 oilers around even at Jacktown. Thanks for the video since I was out of town...
It was a fun day!
So awesome! I was operating a steam engine this weekend. Winterizing it tomorrow.
You passed on the fuller and tap handle?
Nice plumb Bob. I don't have any of those... yet.
Oh, I made my denim quilt, sewed it and tied it......
There were a lot of great old tools to choose from!
Nice haul!
Thanks Andy! We had fun!
You had a perfect choice of tools even though only one of the handles was perfect. Like that Imperial knife, hope that you film it’s restoration.
Thanks Larry! I'll make sure to add Kirk's pocket knife to the schedule!
@@357magdad That is very nice of you. I like everything that you do. You have a wonderful mix of restoring by hand and restoring with a machine. Your explanations are very well done and so helpful. Love the steam engine videos, also.
@@larrydemaar409 Thanks Larry! I'm glad you enjoy my work!
The little yankee ratchet screwdriver is a neat one
It is a little gem!
I love steam-engines. Great show overthere. I guess I've seen that handpress somewhere, right?
That hand press looked a lot like ScoutCrafter's!
I have the Wizard 1367 which seems to be a little longer than the 1363 you picked up......The steel on it is incredible.
It's headed down to a guy I know in Alabama!
@@357magdad The only way Vic is getting mine is if he sends me his Double Cola Machine.
@@rawbacon 🤣
Just got back from the flea market myself. Got around 15 wood handle screwdrivers. A few germany, usa, and the rest china taiwan or no name. Bought this craftman tool I have no idea what it is but one side it has a craftman logo and on the other side it has the little square thing on rachets that goes into sockets. It's the size of a 50 cent quarter but no clue what it does. Vintage pexto pliers as well
You never know what you'll find at the flea market!
Look like a fun day out
We had fun Larry!
The Proto pear head ratchet is one of my favorite tools. I have them in 1/4 inch up to 3/4 inch. still looking for a affordable 1 inch drive model. I like the Proto ratchets so much that I just added another one to my collection making it 74 in that style. I also have some P&C and Plomb Ratchets and other styles of Proto ratchets. I would like to go to Jacktown some day but I live on the left coast. I live 20 minutes away from the old P&C factory. I don't collect P&C tools, but I have over 400 of them.
I dig the design of the Plomb / Proto ratchets!
@@357magdad Probably the most copied ratchet design out there. Plomb came out with that design in 1939 and is still used today. Always enjoy your videos. Say hi to Chuck.
@@EVILDR235 Chuck says ACK!
@@357magdad ACK back.
I beg to differ, if you have 400 of them I’d say it constitutes a collection
What a wonderful show. It's always instructive to see these old engines connected to something, such as pumping water, cutting wood, running the band saw etc., so people can see what you had to do to get things done without electric power wires to your home. An antique power show I attend has restored and demonstrates a portable sawmill, including it's old Chrysler flathead engine , as used during the Depression. It took a sizable crew to set up and dismantle these "portable" sawmils. The gentleman with the interactive display is not only a craftsman, he has created something very educational. Wonderful selection of old tools. I envy your ability to spot bargain treasures. Thanks
Thanks Pat! It's very interesting to see how things were done in the "old days"! Mrs Magdad and I had fun with the interactive display!
Mrs my dad is a very clever lady her Quilting is amazing
Mrs Magdad is amazing!
I'm enjoying your shows I'll donate sum Thursday.
I have just found you and really enjoy what you do. You have access to great old tools in your area. I’ve not found the honey holes in central Texas yet but maybe one day. Finding restoring and just holding old tools gives me a real sense of purpose and fulfillment. Btw I’m a fan of the 357 mag and have hopefully passed that on to my grown boys
I'm glad you found me Scott! Cleaning up old tools is fun!
Muito legal. Aqui No Brasil, também temos feiras assim. Só que aqui, são chamadas de " feira do rolo" ou " feira da troca" poste mais vídeos assim. Um grande abraço do Brasil 👏👏👏🇧🇷
Thanks! Jacktown is always fun!
I'm planning a trip up there for one of the shows next year. Do you think the Spring or Fall or Summer show is better, in terms of tool shopping? Thanks for the video!
Thanks Jim! The spring show has the largest flea market. The fall show is my favorite for both the flea market and engine displays.
@@357magdad Thanks for the info. Hope to see you there!
The Wizard brand screwdriver was carried by Western Auto, who also carried translucent clamp on steering wheel "suicide knobs", with bikini girl photos inside.
Check out my Western Auto screwdriver project:

Wow I thought I was the only one in the world with a Rugol Pliers lol.. Picked up a 8” slip joint not too long ago and could find absolutely zero write up on them online.
I'm attracted to small needle nose pliers. I'm hoping there is a good pair under the rust!
P&C is Peterson and Carlborg. I have an entire drawer in my box dedicated to just that company.
I'm looking forward to cleaning it up!
One day I’m gonna meet up with you guys down there.
That would be great!
Turns out it was a replacement rachet head with the craftman logo
Sorry I missed you. We should meet up next year. Bob's Woodshop! 🙂
Hopefully ScoutCrafter will organize a meet up for the spring show!
@@357magdad Hi, you going to the gazebo tomorrow at 10 with SC?
@@BobAmarant Yep!
2:39 is most cool
Those wood models were really interesting!
Scoutcrafter has that same press
It looked a lot like it!
Good Ole Wizard. Western Auto house brand.
I looks for Wizard tools for my buddy Big Vic!
One of the best resources I've found online for tools is called Alloy Artifacts. Not saying they are perfect with accurate information but what is perfect? This should help you with identification and knowledge on various mfgs.
Thanks for watching Stephen! Alloy Artifacts is a great resource! Check out my video on how I research the old tools I find:

@@357magdad Thanks for the datamp link. I'll be using that a lot.
@@stephenstrohacker7863 You're welcome!
How could you not pick a parallel jaw plier ?
I've got a couple already.
@@357magdad Yeah, and you did not have a push drill ;)
@@puneetnigam1002 The push drill was in my price range (cheap). I try to buy them when I can for the spare bits.😉
I see there's not an option so I can not donate any money.. thanks.
I kind of wish Rhode Island had a show like Jacktown ... great score under $ 20.00 dollars so s the perfect handle pipe wrench on the winter plate this year for Restoration ???? .... Hey Take care you and Mrs Magdad and Mr Chuck have a beautiful Sunday together I hope to see you next Sunday
Thanks Roger! The little pipe wrench is definitely on the schedule!
