i've owned the Smooth Q for about 2 months and i love it. If anyone wants a second opinion i say BUY IT, you can also buy cheap $15 adapter so you can use your GoPro using the gimbal :)

Katherine Lee does it have an app like the DJI? Which allows facial recognition for the gimbal to follow?
Kevin Le Yes there is an app gag connects to the gimbal that allows face /object tracking. You can also change the speed of panning and tilting. Along with some other neat features within the app. The app doesn't always work though, but all you have to do is close the app and open it back up again.

I've always wanted to buy a gimbal but when I saw how much it was, totally dropped that idea right away. Now that you put this video up, I'm starting to consider getting this again.

I own a Smooth Q Gimbal. I lowered down my expectation before I received the package since the price is really low. However, once I started to use it, it's not bad at all, works pretty good for me. Definitely worth the price.
I purchased one recently. It is absolutely amazing, especially for the price.

Nice review. Zhiyun smooth Q is great. The only thing to complain is that Android app is not as good as Iphone in case of tracking, and not yet available panorama, timelapse,... I hope they will add those soon

Karl, Great video review. Thanks. I just got an iPhone 7+. The video is great, but the inboard microphone doesn't provide a very good quality sound. Can I some how plug in my Rode SmartLav Plus to the phone and will the gimbal work? Looks like you have the phone jack right up against the gimbal and no way to connect the SmartLav. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I've heard some gimbals tend to add motor noise to the on board audio requiring a separate remote microphone, what is your experience?

They were pidgeons, not pigeons. Pidgeons can be recreated in a parallel universe. Pigeons, unfortunately, cannot.
Looks pretty solid to me and if you compare it with the competition I think is worth the price.
