Super helpful! Came looking for the pan and tilt controls as it is too fast out of the box. I'm used to the controls of my DJI Mavic and lowered the spped there and this was way too fast by comparison. Very helpful video!

Thanks for the info on adjustments with the Q. I'm super disappointed the follow feature of the software doesn't work. That's one of the main reasons I got the gimble, and I experience the same thing you did, it just doesn't track anything even slightly out of sight. I might just return it I think.

Thank you, just what I needed :) I own a Smooth 4 as well which I find much easier to control and overall better. However, I broke it and am waiting to buy a new one. The smooth q tilt was to fast oncompared to the tricker button that the smooth 4 has, but now it is perfect. Works perfectly, even with the new Zhiyun Play app ''which it is now called'' Thank you :)
An updated version of the Zhiyun Play app (iPhone) came out March 31 2017, the Smooth Q's official release date. The new app's opening screen is a picture of the Smooth Q which implies better support in this new version of ZY Play 2.0.1(14)? I haven't received my gimbal yet and the app doesn't let you past the pairing screen so I can't see what's new. Thanks for this video! :)

It takes a bit time to write such algorithms on hundreds of different systems. That's why they have it working on iOS, there's only couple of different devices. On Android, it could never work on your device or it might already.
it may track the book better if you don't block it with your hand when it moves, and set the movement to fast enough so that it can respond to your fast moving books.
Also, it helps too if one knows how tracking software usually gathers image data. Using simple pixel/luma analyzer is demanding enough, speaking of plain tracking or other range/plain calculation methods. I recommend watching couple videos on object tracking with After Effects etc.

What I'm wondering is why the "app" for Smooth 2 needs access to "make and manage phone calls" I don't understand this when you download the app to operate the phone and in the Android store everyone is complaining that it crashes and lacks shoot mode options like landscape. How do you export the video from ZY play app to your desktop? I used an Iphone XS Max with ZY play. I need to export the video to my desktop. I transferred the files to the Iphone image folder but I still get an error when trying to copy to desktop. Please help.

Take us from the very basics of locating the right phone app online and all the steps in getting it into the camera; likewise with the updating of the Smooth Q. I purchased one of these for my Samsung Galaxy S8 and so far it works. Have some issues in regards to the zooming as it does not work all the time. how do i use the zhiyun smooth q hyperlapse setting with a action camera. it seems that the hyperlapse setting works with only a mobile phone. Anyone can figure out a hack? The current hyperlapse setup is activated only when it starts recording on a mobile phone.

Sweet!! @4:20 it probably didn't lock back on because you covered it and also that you shifted the MiMix on the book, it's probably very precise in it's selection, so since you selected part of the book with the phone on top, it looked different afterwards. Probably works better on a face or an object that isn't on top of another object that's also selected.. if you get what i'm sayin lol. Got a question, seeing you operate it remotely. Hi, yes understand what your getting at, but it's any object tracking, the reason it doesn't work is the Smooth Q isn't supported yet, only the iOS app for the moment supports the . No remote view option.

In my testing it isn't. There seems to be a swaying effect which is probably the motors doing their constant corrections. Its very slight and I was in a very slight breeze but if you're using time-lapse you dont want any camera movement unless youre doing a panning timelapse. In that case the Smooth-Q is solid!
How do you charge your cell with the battery bank? I tried but the smooth q has to be on for the battery to charge? Is there a way to shut off the motors while charging a cell?
do you have overheating issue on the arm, my after 1 hours of using, the gimbal arm would drop, I have to power off and power on to make it work, but only for 30 sec, it would drop again.
Just returned my Smooth Q as there are Firmware update issues - None of the apps are connecting via bluetooth and the SQ3 App definitely not working as I have contacted Zhiyun and they themseleves asked me to return the Gimbal.

Don't know if you still look at this.... But going to use this with insta360 RS. seams to work ok. So now will have very stable and view point 4k lens

dont zoom. it will make the picture much more unstable. use an editor after the shot is done to zoom the parts you like.

Yes you can. I put a phone on the gimbal and then connect an iPad mini with Bluetooth to control it.

Today was a hot day and I had the same problem! When it gets HOT it DROPS!!
