I watched 2014 Godzilla in IMAX. When he roared, the entire theater was shaking and I felt it in my chest, after that I told myself I was never missing an IMAX film in an IMAX theater.
@@kishorenaveen3524 It's really not just that, image is crisp, resolution is crazy, colors are crazy, sound system is crazy. The famous godzilla roar really get's it's full potential in such systems.
While it is far better than industry standard digital theatre it is still no match for 35mm film or 70mm film. Most young people today have never experienced a 35mm film in theatre and most older people have forgotten what the experience was like.

So IMAX is also moving to digital IMAX cameras and 4K laser projectors. They are putting so much money in it. So flim projectors are not coming back.

The crazy thing is that for such a corporate video, they're very humble about what IMAX is. You guys are crazy good, I never forget how good IMAX is compared to a normal movie at the theater.
I love IMAX, since I saw “The Dark Knight Rises”, also “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of Skywalker”, “Avengers: Infinity War”, “Avengers: Endgame”, and “Dunkirk”, I love the IMAX version when they shot the IMAX cameras it was very visually stunning and very very very immersive experience

The opening scene was the best scene of the entire film, and a great start for using the IMAX cameras. The last IMAX Shot scene was pointless and I still I don’t get it why It was shot with IMAX Cameras.
Except that at the Back Row is not exactly the best because there you don't get to experince the sorround sound to the fullest because you are literally just below the back speakers.
IMAX is actually better if you go up front. The point of the design is immersion by moving the screen as close as possible and narrowing your field of field into the screen. This is even more so on the smaller IMAX screen. Middle would only be sweet spot in the OMNIMAX Dome.

That was a great digital experience but nowhere near as good as the traditional 70mm film. One of the most stunning scenes out of any movie is seeing Spartacus on 70mm when the Roman arm is on the hill top. They used 10000 extras for that scene and you can see every person on screen. And the color of the old film stocks are hundreds of times brighter and more vibrant than modern film.
As a kid, seeing a film in IMAX is one of my biggest dreams. Please Bring More IMAX’s to Iowa! (My City only has two low low quality standard theaters)
IMAX and THX changed my life. It’s the reason I watch a movie and wonder how they got this shot or how they did this and that like all I’m saying is that it really opened my mind to film and sound…😂🙌🏼
Please bring more IMAX type theaters throughout the Portland, Oregon area. That would be so cool since there really isn't that much big theaters like that in my area.

I've never seen imax and I'm 30 years old. I've seen tons of films in theaters, especially back when I was a kid and teen. But I'm in a rural area so it's almost a 3 hour drive to the nearest imax theater.
@@RKoen2006 Sadly it'll almost be entirely digital soon. But they were still the very first movies to be filmed entirely with IMAX cameras. It was amazing to a movie fill up an IMAX screen the entire time, it's usually just bits and peices so it was truly an experience for me :D

I went to my first ever imax movie the day when Star Wars: The rise of skywalker premiered in Sweden. I got absolutely blown away by the experience. And got some headache as a bonus xD.
Whenever I see this in a theater, I can't help but think how ironic it is that a video about IMAX is so low quality/resolution. And also how when demonstrating DMR they literally just crank saturation/contrast up. I think it's kinda funny.

IMAX commands a premium price by not allowing more than 1 IMAX screen in a 10+mile radius. Of course IMAX gets a healthy slice of ticket sales and are also paid by the studio to use the IMAX format, cameras and other proprietary features.
Watched both Avengers Infinity War and Endgame in IMAX...my first IMAX experience. If not any other movie, but gonna watch Tenet for sure in there. Biggest mistake and regret of life....not watching Interstellar in IMAX.
There really is nothing like IMAX out there. People who make a fuss about digital IMAX not having the original super large screens are totally missing the point. The super humongous IMAX screen were meant for documentary films shot in IMAX cameras without much camera movement. Regular hollywood movies where cameras move actively are much better in modern digital IMAX screens.
The quality is vastly different. If they need to shoot in an inferior format, they should at least market it with a different name. You can't just call it "IMAX" when that's synonymous with their giant screen. Plus the digital "IMAX enhanced" movies like Avengers Endgame only give slightly more picture. To them, IMAX is just a gimmick. Yes, its still better than a regular theater, but when they say the aspect ratio is taller/wider, they better mean the real deal.
My last movie on reel IMAX projector was Interstellar in Hyderabad India Prasads IMAX..The largest screen among Indian IMAX Screens..Post that they closed all the reel based projectors and auditoriums in India..All I see now is Liemax Auditoriums and Recently I watched 1917 before that I watched Nolan Sir DUNKIRK on the first day first show

I saw both in 70mm IMAX screens and it was incredible, it truly is more than just a movie it becomes an experience.
It was a digital camera still impressive but not a true IMAX camera which is 15/70 film camera.

But in India , IMAX theatres was only in big cities it’s a request to bring their cinemas in many more cities pls develop the imax cinema in agra 🙏🏻
The first time going to IMAX, was like going to normal cinema first time, just can't compare those 2.
