    "I wanna make myself feel good when I pick this thing up, and hopefully that translates to whoever else is listening to it."
    That's pretty much the point of playing music boiled down into one sentence. Thanks Guthrie!

    Guthrie, I don't know where you stand spiritually but you my friend are a Godsend. I've never seen anyone else that's so genuine, likable, generous and as knowledgeable as you are. I love the way you teach. I never have any questions or doubt fter all of your instructional videos. Over the last year, your videos have helped me become a better player by leaps and bounds. If only I had you ear and melodic/ harmonic sense. I've found that copping a few of your licks after your lessons really makes it sink in. Thanks for doing what you do...

    So much information in these videos. He jumps around, but it works and unlocks some doors or pushing you right up to the brink. Everything from chords, seeing the triads all over the neck, using scales around that, chord progressions, picking placement over the pickups and how it effects things tonally, exercises tying chords and lead together, and tying all the theory together in ways other people don’t. On top of all that, you can tell he’s genuine, humble and he shares creative thought processes like other people. Awesome job man. Keep it up.

    I always find myself bursting into laughter at some point during your videos, not in a bad way. I intently listen and follow your lessons then when you demo your examples of how this can be used, thats when I laugh with joy.I'm laughing because you are opening doors into a sound I love and making it look so easy. My guitar playing has never sounded better, keep em coming! Grateful right back at ya!

    Great video, I currently don't own a Tele, I do have a nice American Strat though and have been working on my Chicken Pickin the last couple months. This really helped me understand some of my problem areas with tone, I've not been playing close enough to the bridge, never really put much thought into it....after this, almost instantly my country tone got so much better. Thank you for the great videos!

    Great lesson as always. A nail tip is to use ‘nail wraps’ which are a couple layers of thin woven silk and superglue. Keeps a split nail together for weeks until it grows out and is as strong as, well, nails. Got the tip from James Taylor! Much better than fake nails, only half mm thick so hardly notice them.

  • @davegooner2
    @davegooner2 5 лет назад +1

    Wow that tip about playing closer to the bridge for the country tone has completely changed the way my Tele sounds ! I've watched a lot of vids on playing country but no-one mentions such a fundamental point. Many thanks for the video/s I find them massively helpful.

    Hey speaking of finger nails, Danny Gatton kept a finger nail file on his guitar part way stuck in the pickguard like some players do spare picks, to file on his picks and fingernails, he said in case of an emergency if he damaged a fingernail he could repair it on the go. Thanks for the lesson.

    This is killer content man - so many other Tubers can't convey these core patterns and shapes so well and having you place in context with the chords and pentatonic shapes just makes it click. I have no doubt you'll get flooded with audience here. Make sure you team up with the other Tubers for collab eps when you can to get your max exposure (this seems to be the ticket to rapid growth which you well deserve).
