To alleviate your confusion about why some digimon received CGI instead of animated digivolutions... Back in the day; CGI was new to TV and was considered at the cutting edge and was positively costly compared to regular animation. Greymon and Garurumon both received CGI digivolutions because they were the main protagonist's digimon.

That was nothing compared to the way Ghost Game introduced it.
MY FAVORITE ANIME OF ALL TIME
In the reboot Digimon Adventure 2020, the plot and story are similar but on a grander scale in terms of how high the stakes are. Nothing is too drawn out like in older shows, so you get enough of positive and angry and angst emotions from characters. One of the best things about digimon when you play the games is how they have different evolution branch paths, there can typically be 8 to 16 different evolution paths for a single digimon, its like those tree/circuit paths that can branch out and combine together again.
Basically Agumon has 4+ possible evolutions, and even those evolutions 'can' potentially lead back to Agumon's later stages like Metalgreymon or Wargremon.
In the reboot Digimon Adventures, you get the joy of seeing the partner digimon evolve into other paths that were never seen before, which actually makes a lot of sense because of the limitless potential of evolution in the digital world.

Even doe I love the cgi cause they were done right with nice art direction , the animated drawn evolutions hold the test of time better and look badass as hell.
Aww this is so nostalgic. I used to remember all their names 😆Please react to Digimon 02 all digivolutions next! They have two more new evolutions which are armor and jogress (joint progress)/DNA evolutions apart from the classic one. Preferably the Japanese one of course because those evolutions songs are absolute bangers too! 😍 There is one made by Midnight Werewolf on RUclips that have a compilation until Digimon Tamers (3rd) one if you are interested. ❤

3D animation is a type of CGI.
13:37 this one is from our war game movie what got turn in to the second part of the digimon movie. I personally prefer the digimon movie version as it's more action packed.
I prefer the japanese version cause it tells the truth of what´s happening: A Fucking Miracle, Nothing less than that.
