This is accurate, while my first game was World, the game that introduced me to Monster Hunter was 3 and Tri. I remember little me trying to find it to play on the Wii but, wasn't able to find it in any nearby stores. It was those games though, specifically, that made me fall in love with the franchise, as the idea of fighting monsters and exploring not just natural biomes but underwater ones was so cool to my ocean-loving self. Since then I have waited for the day I can finally challenge the underwater monster in his environment. (One day, maybe.)
@silverback5730 me and you are on the same boat buddy. I LOVED the oceanic and underwater themes and mechanics of Tri. In a way, the simple addition of underwater gameplay made it feel more open than even real open maps like in World and Rise
I'm more impressed that Abyssal made it as high as it did. At least base and Ivory Lagi showed up in Generations, so more people got the opportunity to fight them. Abyssal was a 3 exclusive.
Of course Dodogama made its way up to 31st, our lovable goof ball. Glad to see Tigrex, Bazel, Odogaron, and Legiana all pretty high up, even if they didn't make it to tope 20.

I’d be so happy if they released a full monster hunter series prior to World (or even including it and rise if they want) on Steam. Mainly I’d love to replay the old PS2 / PSP / Wii games as well as the 3DS ones I never played
I miss some of the old aesthetic too. For some reason the original MH1 village, the soundtrack, pokke village theme from MHF2, the way the original hunter armor looked, genprey gunner armor, bone wyvern jawblade GS… I hope to see some of that old aesthetic integrated with new and advanced stuff in Wilds or a remastered collection
It was fantastical to learn about the conception of each game through the developer interviews. It brings back so much nostalgia and contains information that even a series veteran might not know. Alongside the monster rankings, this is truly a festivity worthy of the franchise's 20th anniversary. I feel so blessed to have discovered MH and I'm looking forward to where the Wilds takes us!
I'm one of those who vote for lagiacrus and now i'm happy and proud that our boy got the top 3, i hope this will give the devs a new infusion of power to try all they can to get him into wilds, still, if he is the first leviathan in now, then i'll be even more happy and proud (and yes i'm gonna farm him a lot if it happens)💙⚡

I voted for Zinogre and I'm happy to see him win. I know he's seen as overrated but he was a monster I instantly fell in love with after seeing him in Portable 3rd. I'm also glad Nakarkos is in a decent spot.
You know I absolutely love Lunagaron and I was sad seeing it not even near the top 30 I was a little bit satisfied when I saw it inside the top 100 monsters.
Lagiacrus getting two spots in the top 20 is HUGE, nearly both in the top 10. I’m sad to see Espinas not as high but it makes sense, it was hyped up a lot without a lot of knowledge of the general community pre Sunbreak. But now that they’re here, I think they’ll be a constant presence among the popular monsters Dream top 3 would’ve been Gore/Shagaru Malaga, Nergigante, and Lagi. But we got 2/3 for me so I’m happy

Been a Hunter for 20 years on day 1 2004 on PS2. Logged in over 35,000 hours in the series to date. The best weapon in the game... is YOU! Your the best weapon. You go as far as your skill. My advice for new players is to pick 3 weapon types. One guard weapon, One Ranged weapon, and Your favorite. Do that and you will never hit a wall. My characters main names are EdgeMaster or Veggie Elder, because I play all weapon types equally. Over 100 uses per weapon. Monster Hunter is my FOREVER Game. I average collect 15 weapons for each weapon type and 3 characters per series.

Thank you Capcom for this series. I didn't jump into until MHW. My friend told me I would like it, so I bought it. He had no idea the "monster" he created. He stopped playing. I never did. I have helped literally 1000s of hunters on the Xbox. I have 8000+ hours on the Xbox, and 300+ on the PC, and just hit 21,000 large monster kills. Most monster killed, Safi Jiiva at 1320 kills, probably 1000 of them are solo, full energy one runs. DAMN I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I am working right now, and while I am working, I am jonesing to go downstairs and play. 🙂

i remember myself playing MH Freedom for the 1st time with DBs on my PSP as a kid and not knowing what I as doing at all. Just to come back years later and get absolutely hooked in this franchise, ending up playing every single other MH game released and becoming my favorite game franchise of all time. Always telling my friends how good those games are in hopes any of them them would try it. And again years later with MHW getting lots of attention they finally realised that i was right, and that they missed out on one of the greatest gaming experiences os their lives for so long. i love you MH I'm here for 20 more if i can !
Thank you for the past 20 years! My adventure into this series started back on the PSP with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and have been playing ever since! Can it be 2025 yet?! I can't wait to play Monster Hunter Wilds!

I won't lie. I believe that the monster choice votes are majorly influenced by the last 2 games, and especially world, getting such a huge audience. If it weren't for these two games becoming major successes, I believe that the top 10 would be vastly different.
Man ill be honest i was surprisingly happy to watch all monsters and see there places that i has a tear i my eye, also my boy Gogmazios getting 28th was amazing, knew he wouldnt be top 5 or 10 but still love it.

I am so mad I missed the voting period, I live under a rock and had no idea it was ever happening. Namielle would have had my vote based on monster design alone, but I wish they would have let us pick our top 3 or top 5 maybe even top 10 monsters so we could see some of those low ranking monsters get some love. Sad to see Great Jaggi and Great Wroggi ranking so low, along with some other less glamorous monsters who still have incredible design put into them. However on the flip side I wish we could have also gotten a least favorite monster vote because Uragaan, Kirin, Lunastra, and all those fucking fish wyverns should have been in the negatives in my opinion. >:(

💐💐 Iam one of those type of RPG Gamers that Vampy was talking about that did not want to get into The Monster Hunter Series because it was not a RPG and the gameplay was hard but then I discovered Monster Hunter Stories , my first monster hunter game , which was a easy RPG version of Monster Hunter that made me fall in love with Monster Hunter as a series which resulted in me wanting to go and play the main series games which made me fall more in love with the series as a whole even though it was not the usual rpg type of game I love to play !!!! . 💐💐
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate brought me and my now best friend together! We really enjoyed the games so far and I'm glad that apparently the developers had just as much fun designing them! 😊
Please, Capcom and the MH Team, port Double Cross over to the PC. It has so many unique and classic monster that no one that has only played World and Rise has been able to enjoy yet. Plus the customisation is still THE BEST in the series. Let the whole world, old and new fans of the franchise, be able to enjoy what it really means to play Monster Hunter. Please, Capcom!
'white' fatalis was usually referred to as just 'fatalis' in most games until 4th gen, when it got the moniker of 'old fatalis'. The gear just says things like 'scale from a white fatalis' i dont think it was a name, just a descriptor.

Thank you Capcom for this series. I didn't jump into until MHW. My friend told me I would like it, so I bought it. He had no idea the "monster" he created. He stopped playing. I never did. I have helped literally 1000s of hunters on the Xbox. I have 8000+ hours on the Xbox, and 300+ on the PC, and just hit 21,000 large monster kills.
Most monster killed, Safi Jiiva at 1320 kills, probably 1000 of them are solo, full energy one runs. DAMN I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I am working right now, and while I am working, I am jonesing to go downstairs and play. 🙂

i remember myself playing MH Freedom for the 1st time with DBs on my PSP as a kid and not knowing what I as doing at all. Just to come back years later and get absolutely hooked in this franchise, ending up playing every single other MH game released and becoming my favorite game franchise of all time. Always telling my friends how good those games are in hopes any of them them would try it. And again years later with MHW getting lots of attention they finally realised that i was right, and that they missed out on one of the greatest gaming experiences os their lives for so long. i love you MH I'm here for 20 more if i can !

Thank you for the past 20 years! My adventure into this series started back on the PSP with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and have been playing ever since! Can it be 2025 yet?! I can't wait to play Monster Hunter Wilds!

I won't lie. I believe that the monster choice votes are majorly influenced by the last 2 games, and especially world, getting such a huge audience.
If it weren't for these two games becoming major successes, I believe that the top 10 would be vastly different.

It was said beforehand that there wasn't gonna be an announcement for a new game or wilds info, if you went in believing there was gonna be news then thats on you.

I am so mad I missed the voting period, I live under a rock and had no idea it was ever happening. Namielle would have had my vote based on monster design alone, but I wish they would have let us pick our top 3 or top 5 maybe even top 10 monsters so we could see some of those low ranking monsters get some love. Sad to see Great Jaggi and Great Wroggi ranking so low, along with some other less glamorous monsters who still have incredible design put into them.
However on the flip side I wish we could have also gotten a least favorite monster vote because Uragaan, Kirin, Lunastra, and all those fucking fish wyverns should have been in the negatives in my opinion. >:(

💐💐 Iam one of those type of RPG Gamers that Vampy was talking about that did not want to get into The Monster Hunter Series because it was not a RPG and the gameplay was hard but then I discovered Monster Hunter Stories , my first monster hunter game , which was a easy RPG version of Monster Hunter that made me fall in love with Monster Hunter as a series which resulted in me wanting to go and play the main series games which made me fall more in love with the series as a whole even though it was not the usual rpg type of game I love to play !!!! . 💐💐

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate brought me and my now best friend together! We really enjoyed the games so far and I'm glad that apparently the developers had just as much fun designing them! 😊
Having variations and subspecies have they're own spot was a misstep I feel, 4 or 5 monsters were in the top 20 twice because of it

Please, Capcom and the MH Team, port Double Cross over to the PC. It has so many unique and classic monster that no one that has only played World and Rise has been able to enjoy yet. Plus the customisation is still THE BEST in the series. Let the whole world, old and new fans of the franchise, be able to enjoy what it really means to play Monster Hunter. Please, Capcom!

'white' fatalis was usually referred to as just 'fatalis' in most games until 4th gen, when it got the moniker of 'old fatalis'. The gear just says things like 'scale from a white fatalis' i dont think it was a name, just a descriptor.
