The very first kamen rider from a story angle, was a very tragic tale. The whole point of ichigo is "even if the powers come from the force of evil, we choose to use it for good." Every kamen rider season, we see that it relates to the villians so much but all the heroes chose to use their powers to be good. Even decade, the destroyer of worlds or the evil demon king zi-o they use their powers for the sake of good.
Gavv is from the villain family pretty much and the series highlights despite being a rider he's still a monster and people are afraid of him just as much as the other monsters too. I love it
I feel like gavv in this reiwa era highlights so much of the kamen rider theme of "monster but for the force of good" vibe. Zero one hardly display this theme despite a reference to ichigo himself, because although he did use tech from the ark before, his original driver and progrise keys came from his grandfather, a good man. Saber most definitely doesn't fit this at all, honestly the roles are pretty much reverse in saber. Revice, geats, and gotchard fit the theme though, but never really as much as gavv.
@@larrytherustyboii7442 i keep telling folks off of just its premier, let alone current 3 eps of peak, but if Gavv keeps consistency and cohesiveness to its finale next year, the "best of reiwa" has not only been decided, but one of the newest best seasons period, the main 5 shows that are always circulated around as "The Best and thats final" is Build, W, OOO, Gaim, and maybe Blade, Gavv is already on a record streak of seeming to be a new addition to this bunch and i hope it does

Kuuga is the one I always recommend. The writing of that show is incredible and it truly set the standard for everything going forward. It’s such a genuinely uplifting show that to me is the pinnacle of kamen. It’s got an amazing protagonist in Yusuke Godai, great cinematography and directing, a likable cast, and that wonderful writing and dialogue that gets you so invested in its story and message. I don’t think I’ve ever run into someone who dislikes Kuuga.
Followed by “another” good series, that is Agito.
Keep in mind that Kuuga is a slow burn up to the midpoint of the series.
I recommend ex-aid, W, and drive.
Ex-aid might look goofy at first cause it is a video game theme kamen rider but the story is awesome
If you're interested in a detective story, W is the one for you
And drive is like well as the name suggest you can kinda guest what theme it will be

Highly recommend Ryuki! Its much more down to earth and focused on the character drama than the superhero stuff, but the characters are all so well done they dominated my favorites list for a *while*
Recommend Kabuto as well. Its basically if Ace and Keiwa were in an early Heisei season. If you loved those two youll love Tendou and Kagami.
Also Gaim... Just... Gaim.
Geats is built different. It's one of the most well-paced and well-written stories in KR. Ace as a main character us such a vibe.
Ace's personality and background is such a breath of fresh air too. The last time we got an MC like this was back in Kabuto.

The current rider series is called Kamen Rider Gavv. This one is easy to catch up because it just only showed 2 episodes. This Sunday is gonna be the 3rd episode
You have to watch Gaim. Hands down one of the best Rider seasons of all time!
Other of my favourites are: Den-O, Faiz, W, Drive, Ex-Aid, Kiva.
And for the memes, watch Blade lol
Despite the memes, Blade was an awesome series as well, along with a good movie.
My recommendation is Ryuki mainly due this is my first Kamen Rider series when I was still kids, But also because concept of multiple riders fighting againts each other is basically what became concept in Geats
kuuga is definitely my personal favorite season its a more grounded show when compared to the others. I will say the slow pace may be a turn off for some and the vfx might not have aged the best but its still a decent watch imo

Come for the over the top retro anime aesthetic, stay for the engrossing story and the most over the top moments, such as the reveal of the main villain, Dan Kuroto, devourer of scenes. Oh and then theres the christmas episode...
Kamen Rider Ryuki will forever be my favorite in terms of getting into the series as a whole, AND IT WAS MADE THE YEAR I WAS BORN! (2002)
“Rider Wars” as concept was so controversial back then that it was seriously on thin ice… I’m so glad they run with this because it was straight HEAT, heartfelt, sad, and relatable that the main MC made me feel like Denji yelling at the TV!

Ryuki is also on Tubi which is where I saw it. I thought Pluto was not on-demand? But if it is then either are fine. I didn't think I would like it as much as I did but it's definitely in my top 3 if not #1.
I recommend Gaim, a show were we see a normal young man who just trying to find his place in this world get ropped into a battle for the fate of the world and the human race. you'll see friends turn into enemies, enemies turn into friends, people using people for their own desire, and peoples desires distroy them. all of this to see who will be the one to brave the forest and clam the forbidden fruit.
Build is great, but it has a LOT of plot twists so expect the unexpected lmao. also you should try Gaim, 555/Faiz, Ryuki, And Kuuga if you want a serious and dark Kamen Rider Series
In fairness Geats is pretty high bar as far as Kamen rider goes, good thing about that is that there’s a Kamen rider for everybody
To me it was gaim. I'm still at awe how the hell you made a sad tragic story and the heroes based of fruits.

Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, and Faiz are back to back bangers that I’d recommend
Faiz Kiva and Kuuga are great Heisei phase 1 seasons. Even though the action isn't as flashy in older shows, they make up for it with how gritty the fights feel.
Build and Geats are some of my favorites. I also highly recommend Ex-Aid, Zero-One, Gaim, Fourze, and Drive. And Gavv has had a very strong start to it's run too.
im not going to lie i don’t have any recommendations unless you looking for a specific thing, since i love every kamen rider show the way i view it is just watch the show that catches your attention tbh lmao but i hope you enjoy your journey of kamen rider and continue to love and watch the franchise.
Since you've watched Geats,
I recommend the writer, Yuya Takahashi's two previous main works in the franchise, Ex-Aid and Zero-One.
Ex-Aid is a series themed around video games (particularly retro games) mixed with medical drama. The designs might throw you off at first but the show is good.
Zero-One is the first series of the Reiwa era (the current era that Geats is a part of with Gavv being the current season). It is themed around AI. Unfortunately, production had issues due to the 2020 pandemic so there was major rewrites in its final third to comply with regulations. I still think they managed to salvage the show at the end.
But if you want something more grounded, the early Heisei seasons from Kuuga to maybe Decade would do because after that, the shows have started to be more focused on selling their toys, even worse nowadays to promote the P-Bandai exclusives. Not that it wasn't an issue back then, it's just more prominent nowadays.
Build is the GOAT formula for how to make an interesting protag's team _and_ a really compelling villain.
Easy to hate, but even easier to love. Evolt is truly built different from the other villains imo

I recommend Fourze and OOO. Fourze might look goofy but it’s very lighthearted and immersive. OOO has also a great story arc and the jingles are catchy
Fourze is also made by the creator of Gurren Lagaan and Kill La Kill.

Fuuto Pi is the sequel adapted from the manga, unless you wanna be confused on details, characters, etc, do not watch it esp as a W introduction, the show is right there
The best ones too start are den-o, ooo & w with simple yet interesting story, but the best ones are gaim, ex-aid and build.
Showa I 100% recomend V3, it really perfects the formula after the og series and it has one of the best arcs in showa I've seen with Riderman. OOO and Kiva are also really fucking great, their characters are fantastic, AND THEIR SOUNDTRACK IS MWAH
My personal recomendations, in no particular order with brief thematic summaries - W/Double (Detective Noir), Kuuga (mystery/horror), Drive (police drama), Den-O (time travel comedy, kinda lost direction by last story arc, fun movies), Ex-Aid (medical drama, need to watch movies for ACTUAL plot conclusion), Zero-One (Basically Megaman X plot).
Zero-One was my first rider show, and it was fun. Really liked the suit designs. Ryuki is my second favorite, so definitely check that one out. It's also a battle royale like Geats is.
Well, Kamen Rider Ryuki was influential enough to be a big inspiration for Madoka Magica, a very popular dark take on the Magical Girl genre.
Build is what got me into Kamen rider n it’s 100% still my favorite; next to no filler, super clean and in depth story, fantAstic character growth, 10/10. Geats is also spectacular, tho I kinda put too much expectations onto it via hoping for a tron-like story, but it’s still incredibly amazing. Kamen rider iS heat
Ex aid, Gaim, Drive, W, OOO, Fourze, Ryuki, Den-O, and Hibiki are my personal recommends
the current airing season, Gavv, is also a masterpiece so far onto ep 4 atm, hopefully it keeps its momentum to finale

Why do they like to hate on it? lol, It's so fun and the Igarashi Siblings are some of my favorite characters so far
You can also watch Gavv while it's currently airing to at least get what it feels like watching a Kamen Rider series during its current runtime
After watching Wizard and Ryuki, i decided to watch all Kamen Rider series from the first one. Stopped at Skyrider for the moment, as my PC graphics card died and I dislike watching in cellphone. I can say, some are good, some are bad. But always fun, specially seeing how much these productions changed through time.
Highly recommend Black and Black RX. These series are, in various ways, a picture of the transition between Showa and Heisei eras. And they have one of the most iconic antagonists in the franchise. Seriously, it's worth watching just to be introduced to Shadow Moon.
The others i really liked were already mentioned by other people in the comments: Wizard, Ryuki, Kuuga and Agito.
Decade and Double are my favourites. But 555, that's my guilty pleasure.

Watch Kamen Rider Saber. It’s in the same line as Revice and Geats. In a few years, they are going to have the 10th Reiwa Rider use the powers of Saber, Revice and Geats.
I have a thing for Kamen Rider Kiva, although many people don't like it. Ever since I saw his first finisher, I was hooked.
Build is my personal favorite but if you want a lead-seconday whose character dynamics are similar to Ace and Keiwa, i recommend Kabuto. Kabuto also just has the best fight choreo in the franchise imo
If your going for an anime vibe while still going a bit serious then gaim your place, not to mention gaim becomes a literal god! And not just some weak fruit got but a universe buster one
The newest series, Gavv, is honestly so good so far! There’s only 3 episodes, but I’m hooked!

You were wise to check out Build. It’s easily my favorite Rider season so far (though it’s not as visually spectacular as Geats and the other Takahashi seasons).

Some of my personal favorites is Build (my very favorite season and the one that made me a huge fan), OOO, Kabuto, Gaim (An honestly really good season that makes you think otherwise at first glance.) and even Kiva. (I've heard people not liking kiva for whatever reason, something to do with the story they were trying to tell. Personally I saw it more as a coming-of-age story that just felt very good on initial watch, anyway.) Kuuga is also pretty good and here's to hoping Gavv channels some of that Gaim energy, lol.
there's some cool stuff in agito, also older shows like zo are kinda interesting too
i'll recommend from what you didn't watch/watching: ryuki, kabuto, kiva, w, ooo, gaim, drive, 01 and after you finish the seasons before decade and zi-o you can watch those 2 cus they are good but has a lot of references to past seasons
I'm currently watching Kamen Rider Gavv after finishing Gotchard. But to this day Geats is still my favourite Rider Series in the Reiwa run. My other favourite Rider shows are Ryuki, Kabuto, Den-O, Build, Revice, and Zero-One. If you want an extremely comedic Rider show to watch I recommend Den-O.

It's probably been said already but I suggest watching Kamen Rider Ryuki. It's definitely was a big turning point in the history Kamen Rider and is big inspiration for many things.
A lot of series from Heisei are really solid! My choices? Pretty much a lot of them, but if I were to pick six, it would be Ryuki, Faiz, W, Fourze, Gaim and Drive.
W, Gaim, Drive, Kuuga, Zero One, black/rx, and the classic series are my recommendations.

Always has been. I'd recommend W, OOO, and Fourze. Back to back great seasons with great crossover movies as well. Though Kuuga is great as well. Ex-Aid is also pretty good and has a great crossover with Build as well.

Kuuga is definitely the most well made season, the writing, characters and action is all top notch for the budget it had.
However Blade is definitely my personal favourite season.

Episode and thought it was pretty interesting! I’m liking MC a lot so far, I’m not the biggest fan of the driver personally, but I’m sure it’ll grow on me.
Agreed some of the designs don’t work for me but the story is well making up for it also another one id recommend would be zero one (01) the world building is immaculate being set in a time period where advance human like ai is common enough where people would bat an e the seeing a couple in various business’s but it’s new enough where it’s not full dystopian society that every robot uprising movie starts from where a lot of people still doubt or worry about ai and so many eps goes into various details on how ai would be incorporated into society the 3 MC’s and the villains have there own perspective on what should happen to ai between thinking they can benefit humanity, there humanity’s destruction to them being just tools or weapons nothing to get emotionally invested in and the first arc of zero one is so good if anything just watch to the Christmas ep it’s just the middle arc is kinda trash and the last arc barely manages to salvage the ending (though I’ll give it some leeway cause the show had to end quicker then expected cause of you know what in 2020)

Heisei: Pretty much also everything. Some hit/miss (Certain seasons like Den-O or Hibiki are either hate it or love it)
Neo Heisei: W, Gaim, Build are my favorites
Reiwa: Zero One and Revice
Ex-Aid and Zero-One had the same director as Geats.
Beenngoing through Geats and I love it. A few series I like to recommend W, OOO and Fourze. Currently going through Fourze these are just peak 3 times in a row. Also Fourze is great for Super Sentai fans (such as myself) for its theme around friendship. A hidden Gem is Blade but it's hard ro get into though from my profile it should be obviouse what I think of Blade. Though Onw Heisei series I recommend is my birthyear Kamen Rider Kabuto. Its just so peak
While this one isn't as...objectively good as some of the other recommendations, my favorite season is and will always be Kamen Rider Drive. The main character is fun, the villains are pretty cool and I love the side riders. Another pick would absolutely be 01...fantastic.

My personal favourite are Kamen Rider W and OOO as they are the series that i started getting into kamen rider but my all time favourite are kamen rider build and gaim.
I'd recommend finishing Build first.
Watch any of heisei phase 1 rider their story more darker than now and almost all of them still great even till this day
Kabuto is considered top tier, but if you want a solid comedy version of the show, Den-O is rhe way to go.

Blade for the memes
Kuuga and Agito, a bit mature, lots of death tolls among the police and civilians. Kuugas monsters are psychopaths mass murderers while Agito’s are “angels”. Blade is a battle royal to determine if humanity will continue to exist. Faiz is about the Undead whose way for survival is to turn other humans into Undead, but most turns up dead instead because the very small percentage of it succeeding and the Riders that tries to stop them. Kiva is about the succession of the Fangire(a type of Vampire) Royalty and the half human who inherits its power. Kabuto is about alien bugs trying to replace humanity with their doppelgängers. W is about Detectives, Mafia Family and the drugs that they peddle that gives people high but turns them into monsters. OOO is about birthdays and the personification of Greed. Drives is about the Police, Time Stop and the likable Monsters that caused them. Ghost is about a ghost thats in between life and death given the chance to not truly die if he can collects 99 eye souls within a year or so he was told. Gaim is fruit ninja but it’s about Samurai and the modern Sengoku era. This are the ones that I finished the whole season straight, the other series I am watching whenever I have the time and I enjoy them all 😅.
You should check out, kamen rider W, Kamen rider OOO, Kamen rider Decade and Kamen rider Ex-Aid. And maybe some old ones like Kamen rider black-black RX. (Kamen rider W has its own sequel, Fuuto PI; an anime; highly recommended to watch after watching W)
If you're looking for realistic plot with more human drama, i recommend Ryuki and Faiz.
For fun, watch Double.

I could recommend Kamen Rider Ryuki which has a similar premise of Riders battling other Riders, but be warned that while it's still considered one of the best KR of the early heisei era it is a bit dated and the amount of permadeath in that show may be shocking for current viewers.

Geats is a great show - but remember it's WAY more serious than most KR. KR is still a young adult show, so expect a lot more silly jokes and stuff :) If you are worried a series looks silly, watch a bit later into the series. There is a "Toy sell timer" as i call it with most seasons, where they push hard for the start of a season, then ease off because kids often aren't the ones watching past episode 14. :) so assume 14 episodes is when the plot kicks into phase 2.
@@Aproximal oh yeah. I love the silliness, Revice was filled with it and I loved it. Same with build, I think the Silliness adds to it. Makes it more memorable IMO

Black, kuuga, ryuki, 555, blade, kabuto, den-o, W, o o o, gaim, ex-aid. Haven't seen all of these but they're generally regarded highly. I am also a fan of Fourze, drive, agito and Hibiki. I suggest avoiding decade (nonsense), Z I O (nonsense but with time travel), and amazonz season 2 (the worst protagonist in franchise history)
My Kamen Rider journey started with Gaim which I do recommend. I skipped Drive entirely, and some friends pulled me into watching Ghost and Ex Aid. I took a break again on Build but would later watch all of it in two sittings. Really good.
Zio was cool to me. Zero One was fun, I had less fun with Saber, and more with Revice. Geats was so good that I didn't even want to watch Gotchard which I still have yet to do. Gavv really doesn't interest me and feel its even more weird than Gotchard. Design wise a step down.
