    I just checked my case status online; my new EAD new card is being produced after just filing my EAD renewal in 4 days. Wow !!!! it's faster by doing it myself and following ASAP video instructions.

    Thank you very much for your hard work! Advocates and legal advisors just want to make money, they make mistakes and don't want to help you at all. This process they present as extremely difficult, something you cannot do without their help. But you guys do an excellent job and help so many people. Thank you!

      Thank you for your kind comment! We do our best to provide useful information. It is true that there are attorneys and others who are not professional, knowledgeable, or ethical. And many times there ARE processes that someone seeking asylum can do themselves. But having a good attorney can also be very helpful. Our organization, ASAP, has compiled resources to help asylum seekers around the country to find high-quality nonprofit immigration assistance organizations or vetted, private immigration attorneys. You can find that guide here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/find-help/ And you can find more information about asylum and work permits on our website here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/

    • @asylumadvocacy
      @asylumadvocacy  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! You may apply to renew the EAD (work permit) card for children under age 7. However, many parents choose not to, because the fee paid to the government to renew a card is $410 (or you can request a fee waiver). Because a child will not need a current, unexpired card in order to work, that may not be worth it. The social security card and number never expire even if the EAD card expires.

      Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! If you received parole when you entered the United States and your parole is still valid, you can apply for a work permit under the “(c)(11) category”. There are some important differences between a work permit based on parole and a work permit based on an asylum application. You can find more information about those differences here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/work-permits/#other-parole. You can also find legal help here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/find-help/. • @asylumadvocacy

      Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! Yes, for most answers, you can type "N/A" (for "not applicable") or "none" if there is a question that does not apply to you. If the question specifically has the words "(if any)" at the end, then you also have the option to leave it blank. An example would be this question on the form: "USCIS Online Account Number (if any)".

    Good afternoon, help me please. When filing Form I-765 online at the USCIS website, do spouses need to file forms separately? That is, my wife will also need to create her own USCIS account and file form and does she need to attach a marriage certificate at any of the points?

      Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! Unfortunately, the online work permit application is a recent change and we do not have much information about it right now. Perhaps the safest thing to do is for your wife to create her own account and submit an application from there. A marriage certificate is not required for a work permit application. Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! While it is best to use an unexpired passport, you can submit a copy of an expired one. However, if you do, it is best to also send a copy of another form of government-issued photo identification. You mention a U.S. driver's license. That would be an excellent example! Others can include national ID cards from your country of origin or even ID cards issued by a government (public) school. If in doubt, send copies of several forms of ID if you have them!

As long as 150 days have been passsed from my asylum case, I plan to submit another work permit form based on my asylum case. @@asylumadvocacy Hi, I hope this message finds you well. I got my I-765 form receipt notice on 20th October 2022 based on a pending asylum application. According to the notice letter from USCIS, the first I-765 form based on a pending asylum application should be processed in 30 days if not I can call USCIS and inquire about it.
      I called the USCIS recently and they replied to me like this.
      "We received your request for expedited processing, but we will not accommodate that request.
      Based on a review of your request, your case does not meet one or more of the expedited criteria or otherwise merit expedited processing.
      We review all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis, and we accommodate them at the sole discretion of the agency.

    Please help it's an emergency, I submitted EAD renewal on Oct 15, 2023, and My current EAD expired on Oct 5th, 23. At the DMV they asked I-797 receipt notice to renew my DL. Will I get the hard copy of the I-797 Form by mail since i submitted it online? Will they deny b/s my EAD has expired before the submission?

      Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! If you submitted your work permit application online, the receipt notice will be available in your online account. Unfortunately, because you submitted your renewal work permit application after your work permit expired, your work permit is not automatically extended. However, every state has different rules about driver’s license so you can still try to apply with the receipt notice. Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! To apply online, go to this USCIS webpage: www.uscis.gov/file-online/forms-available-to-file-online. On that webpage, scroll down to where it says “I-765 | Application for Employment Authorization” and click “File Online.” You will need to create a USCIS Online Account. We do not have a video about the online application yet but we are hoping to make one in the future!

      Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! You could list either, but it is probably best to list F1.

      Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! Yes, it is the same whether you apply online or by mail. I’m filling like a dependent. My husband is the one who will it. Should I put his A number?

    • @asylumadvocacy
      @asylumadvocacy  Год назад

      Thank you for your question and for being part of the ASAP community! No, you should not write husband’s A Number. If you received a biometrics notice for being a dependent on your husband’s asylum case, you should be able to find your own A Number there (example here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/asylum-application-biometrics-appointment/). If you do not have an A Number yet, you can write N/A. You can also find more information about completing your work permit application here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/work-permits/#apply-how-to.
