We started off in the morning in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and the plan was to drive all the way to Merida, the capital of Yucatan state. But on the way, we’d stop off to eat some amazing Mexican food, and also visit some attractions in Yucatan like a cenote and Chichen Itza. It turned out to be one of the most amazing days of my Mexico trip - here’s everything we did and ate.
Tacos De Cecina Estilo Yecaixtla - Before leaving Playa Del Carmen, we desperately needed some taco nourishment, and so we stopped at Tacos De Cecina Estilo Yecaixtla, a street food stall that’s known for their beef tacos. I tried a few of their tacos, all of which were outstanding, and overflowing with meat!
Price - 74 MXN ($3.97) for my plate
Cenote X'canché - We drove towards Valladolid, and not too far from there is a cenote known as Cenote X'canché. The hard thing about Yucatan and visiting a cenote is that there are so many to choose from, but since we had a car, I wanted to go to one that was a little more off the beaten path and quiet. It proved to be an amazing experience, so quiet and peaceful.
Entrance - 50 MXN ($2.69), Bicycle ride - 100 MXN ($5.37) per person
La Tía de Kaua - There’s a Mexican food Yucatan dish known as poc chuc, that’s one of the ultimate dishes from the region - usually made of pork marinated and grilled or cooked over a hot fire griddle. In the sleepy town of Kaua, we stopped at La Tía de Kaua for some incredible poc chuc and freshly ground habanero tomato salsa. It was such an insanely delicious meal.
Total price - 300 MXN ($16.11) for 4 adults
Chichén Itzá - Finally, to wrap of the day of Mexican food and attractions in Yucatan, we drove to Chichen Itza. It’s one of the most visited attractions in Mexico and it’s an amazing sight to see. We arrived in the late afternoon, and luckily it wasn’t too busy.
Entrance price - 242 MXN ($13) per person
Mérida - Finally we arrived to Merida at night. Stay tuned for the next Merida street food tour!

We can't afford to travel, but have enough money for youtube. We ask ourselves in the morning "Where do we want to go to eat today?" We watch you go all over the world, and dream we are there, thank you for this it means so much to live vicariously through you.
That old house where the lady was peeling the bean pouches and they were cooking everything with the cole and old fashion, country-style brought back childhood memories. Then, Carlos had to whip out the top. Oh, my God!! I felt like I was a kid again at my grandparents' house. Amazing!
This is how you tour Mexico and not just stay in your hotel.
Not stay in hotel ? Why?
His facial expressions when he eats, I've never seen someone enjoy food so much! Makes you feel like you're missing out!
He could bite into a sht sandwich and he would still make that face. It's his liveliehood.
I'm Egyptian
And I love the Mexican beefy food
loot of beige food to
Mi casa es su casa. You are always welcome.
MY TUBE the only Mexican food I had in Egypt were the churros with chocolate sauce in the mall. I was surprised it was actually good. Egyptians and Mexicans have some similar spices but I found that when I visited Tunisia and Algeria the level of spice and flavor was more like what I’m used to. We use New Mexico red and green chili in everything (like the harissa inspired dishes of Africa).
Noé Rodriguez thank you for the in depth explanation. I am Apache and Navajo (indigenous tribes) here in USA. I also have other mixed blood from my father’s side. No matter where spices, food or other items came from (or stolen), I just enjoy seeing the similarities in our cultures and food we all share. When I was in the Middle East, I was able to cook for friends and show them a little bit of my own culture. I do believe we should build upon similarities vs tearing each other down. Wonderful travelers like Mark and chefs that donate their talents in helping out others (like José Andrés) are what bring peace and happiness between countries. Thank you, again, for your kindness and insight. Stay safe and well. 🌸🌼
I heard tacos actually originated in the middle east.
Micah is so BLESSED as a child of yours....what experiences he is having already as a small child. God Bless you and your wife for providing an amazing life for him!
My stomach screamed watching this .. love Mexican food
the Mexican culture comes to life through their food which is artistic.i love everything about Mexican culture, the music, dancing and certainly the food.

Elisa Garcia lmfaooo
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ik so random
Haha it was so funny 😂😂
next time you eat black beans in Yucatan, you put the purple onion and cilantro in the black beans, and add a touch of lemon juice, you'll love it.
Thank you someone said it! 🤣🤣 he miss out on the great bean soup
An incredible day in Mexico. The combination of food, natural beauty, and culture in this region of Mexico blew me away. Stay tuned, next video - Merida Street Food Tour! (Remember to click thumbs up and subscribe if you're not already - Thanks in advance) Have a great day!

I have seen quite a lot of documentaries about food but I have never seen a host so passionate. Great videos hermano !
Taco for breakfast, taco for lunch and taco for dinner👌👌
Bun Kiman In Mexico they don't eat tacos all the time, is just a weekend thing, but the world think Mexicans only eat tacos lol
MWN Nazi that’s bs, I always eat tacos
Bebop that's because you want to eat tacos, is like saying I always eat sushi, nobody forces you to eat something, if you want to eat it go ahead but that's your choice
MWN Nazi except tacos is super diverse. It’s literally anything inside of a tortilla
Not entirely true...
Yes we don't eat them ALL the time, but any time is good for a taco, not only weekends. You will be amazed at how crowded taco stands are any day. Close to my house there are some taco stands open 24/7!
They can be a whole meal or just as a sidedish. Very often I like to eat a chicharron, avocado or nopales taco to accompany whatever else I am eating, be it a soup, steak, salad, etc.
True authentic Mexican foods where they cooked in traditional ways with traditional fire heat media.
Salivating all the way from a freezing and windy London.Utterly spectacular that in an industrial estate on the side of a motorway a gem of Mexican cuisine erupts from a tent-just wonderful.
That sausage and fried pork heaven.
Those salsas,angelic .
The cool water in the forest,a must.
More visions of Mexico beyond the drivel we are fed and which enlightens us to the wonderful people of Mexico and its culture.
Just magnificent.
I love how you giggle when you see steak! I love my culture and Mexico!
Lol Mark’s always like: “WaOaw🤪”.
Some of them are more dramatic than others... that's how you tell if food is awesome
so amazing this country, like a movie
Cefims Soas welll many places in movies are filmed in mexico, but they say its another country. but most people dont know... titanic, predator, to name a few
The magic of chichen-itza goes beyond the perfect and beautiful construction of those pyramids, there is one costruction that has a snake statue on it and if you clap your hands you can hear the sound of a snake!!, another one has a bird statue called Quetzal and you can hear a bird sound too, that is amazing and that's why you need a tourist guide if you visit chichen-itza is a magnificent experience, i'm so proud of my country and my mexican culture 🇲🇽
My beautiful México 🇲🇽❤
I genuinely think that this is the video of yours that has made my mouth water the most. I am obsessed with eating Mexican food on this level somehow! (not easy in England) Maybe a holiday in Mexico is needed! also....the music in this vid is so awesome and cool!

That salsa looked so delicious! My goodness my mouth is watering 🤤
Awesome Mexican Foods and Amazing Beautiful Place.
of course
The waterhole was one of the most beautifully serene places I've ever seen or visited. We have some amazing scenery here in New Zealand but this place is just as beautiful. It was awesome to see it from a birds eye perspective. It looked like a pocket of paradise in a forest. Mark you and Ying have an incredible ability to get the footage needed to make a very professional video. I'd be really surprised if you haven't as yet been approached to make a regular food/travel program for television. Thank you for all your hard work.
I forgot to say that the family you are travelling with seem super nice.
Wow I just saw the part where Micah was walking. He was so cute and his laugh is heart warming and infectious. There is no better or happier sound than the giggle of a small child.
have you seen that movie "children of men" ? the ending credits roll with just that, the best sound in the world, children laughing and playing
sergeigen1 I have seen that movie, I've got the DVD of it so I've watched it a few times. It was quite powerful and showed the harsher side of people but also the determination of a few to help the human race to continue in the future. Any movie with a child's laughter is worth watching because it reminds us that we are all human and should support each other. I think it's the pure innocence of a child. As adults we seem to be inhibited and don't often have a proper laugh to the point where our cheeks hurt.
I agree I wish we could add photos in the comments
Micah was the icing of the cake..run micah run 😂😂..

Amor desde Wisconsin. America no seria nada sin la cultura y la gente Mexicana!
Micah is seriously one of the cutest toddlers I ever seen, love his energy.
Batiosts 'micah is a boy?
I thought he was a girl the whole time.
Sushan pun Micah is a boy name..but then again we live in a gender neutral world so who the hell knows ..lol
Good but what does that have to do with the Mexican gastronomy ben shown?
I'm puss Mark said this trip would be unforgettable because Micah started walking n running when they were at the temple/pyramid! The food looks good as always but MICAH!!!!!
Mark love your videos across the world, you're so lucky to have Ying with you all the time and get to spend time with your family whilst making these great insightful videos for us. Thanks Mark.
Loved this episode.Chichinixta looks like a wonderful place.Ohio looked like he was having a great time walking.
Awesome cooking right on the hot coals. love it. thanks for sharing.
Wow this trip to Mexico is amazing!! I hope there’s more.
Traditional food and traditional styles were you cannot find anywhere else plus food right out of the heat from scratch is the best .
Mexican food is both spicy and heavy but, in fact, true Mexican food has both a depth of flavour - with its combination of savoury and earthy flavours - and a fresh lightness from its generous use of fresh herbs, vegetables and citrus.
Exactly!
Our food is always fresh, natural and delicious 🇲🇽 that's why mexican food is so special.
Amo a mi gente Mexicana, por ser Humildes, generosos y sobre todo por que soy Mexicana
Towards the end of the video... I totally forgot that this all took place in one day. The highlights at the end made me feel like I was there too! Awesome vid! 🙌🏽 🎥

I like the picture sign of La Tia looks like she's pissed because she's missing a leg.
It's always, always beautiful to watch your reaction but when you add Ying and Micha to the video it just enhances the beauty of what you do! Thank you so much for sharing!!
