Back in the mid 2000s the trick racing teams went to Santa Pod, first runs were pretty slow with the tricks getting bogged down, they had to reprogram the ECU several times until they got it right and the flew down the strip. If you switched to manual and switched off the traction control you might have done better, but you'd be even better with a straight manual which the truck racers have👍

The Magnum is probably powered by a Mack E9 V8, backed by an 18 speed MANUAL transmission. - Even a high power truck is low on horsepower, but high on torque. To launch an empty tractor, you must start in the highest gear possible, without stalling the engine. I have out accelerated many cars with Scania V8 tractors. - Also the EU mandated speed governor doesn’t help..

Couldn't you press the brake and the accelerator at the same time and let go of the brake when it's time to go? Or is that just not possible in a truck?

Do you have it power drive tim, not eco or normal? my R650V8 can pull a loaded (60 ton) Bdouble off the lights faster then that.

My dad drives truckes for a living and i find that they can break down at any time and also my dad used to drive a magnum

You had the drive computer in standard mode Tim, need to change it to power mode on the settings then you would’ve peeled the magnum! 😂
Go to your scania dealer. They can change the gear change speed with the diagnostic tool
