So much love for pass it on I now wander around my flat shouting "Where's the dish?!" and how even in another room I can tell the order from each lads entry music! love you guys keeping us all happy and going during these times especially - a little youtube family :D
gotta love when barry starts, he always wants to something experimental that none of the others (except maybe ben) are gonna be able to follow through on.
First of all: SO happy to see you do more Pass it on!! Secondly: I would LOVE to see an episode, where you're making a classic french style dish. My idea is that only the first person knows the dish (always great imo) and the order should be: Jamie, Ben, Mike, Ben, Barry Oh. And I would love to see "Steak au poivre" with fondant potatoes.
I still call it a pass. It came together into a cohesive dish even if it wasn't the best you've ever done. That's sometimes how experimental dishes go. Especially snacky things. 😊
I wouldn't have touched either dish, so it's a fail for me, but I appreciated the creativity of the sweet nachos! And let's be real, I love the fails more than the passes because they're usually funnier and more chaotic. 😂❤️
Perfect timing for my dinner as always! Loved the christmas stream, despite the technical issues and loving the new episodes this year aswell! Keep up the good work! Idea for a pass it on: "Strange" delicacies must be used?
Let's be real, I love the fails more than the passes because they're usually funnier and more chaotic. 😂❤️ Also, what happened to the bacon Barry was going to include on the sweet nachos? Would have been great! So many amazing moments in this, what with Barry's semi-brilliant idea (only to be ignored by the next 2 people, LOL), Mike's panic, Ben's astounding ability to salvage everything in the end, and Jamie's obstinate overconfidence!
I think what Jamie means is that you can have one whole slice of pizza in your hand without the need of a plate. Whereas for nachos, you need a plate otherwise it will fall apart if you try to hold it all in your hand.
Right. Jamie is 100% correct. It's not that the individual nachos can be eaten with your hands, it's that the whole thing needs a plate to carry the nachos and a place for the dipping sauce. The pizza is self-contained and thus properly handheld. Similar to how a bagel is handheld but as soon as you cut it into tiny pieces AND the intention is to dip it in some sort of sauce or cream cheese, then it's no longer handheld despite being smaller.
"Pass it On" is always my favorite. It is like the end of the week meal, just chuck everything in the fridge into a meal and see what's good. We do that often here.
I love how Pass It On always lightens my mood. Much needed on this foggy Wednesday afternoon (I haven’t seen the buildings across from my home all day).
The fact that Ben made anything out of three completely different ideas is deserving of far more than a 10 in my opinion. Sweet nachos, sushi, and hot dog pizza and he pulled some sort of meal off. Props
Jamie was absolutely right, nachos are not hand held but a pizza is. You couldn’t serve a nacho which is the only way it could be considered “hand held” but the mini pizza is entirely hand held, not to mention the far more appetising of the two.
Mike squeaking with laughter at the back had me dying. I needed a break from all the serious news and Sortedfood always saves me. You guys are great. Love the reaction from the side from Ed and Izzy.

This was a proper Pass it on - with Huttlestorm and all the flapping 🤣🤣 Yet, I think that the final dish is indeed a PASS👍🏻👍🏻 I get Barry's point, but the idea was great and a new twist to "typical" snacks
I laughed so much of all the impressions you gave to the avocado+condensed milk combo. It's such a comfort food where I live, avocado mash with condensed milk or in a smoothie. First time I had guacamole I made the same weirded out faces, because it was savory avocado. Now I love both, avocados are so versatile. Great pass it on, lots of fun! Thanks!
@@drdrdrk Yes, it is very sweet. Not really, the pizza you pickup from the kitchen 1 each and take it to the couch, the nachos you have to take a plate to the couch. Nachos are not hand held in anyway, they are only eaten with hands and even that is messy and debatable most of the time. Half the time nachos need a fork or something to clean the plate with or an excessive amount of mess on the hands happens.
I absolutely agree with Jamie - even though you eat nachos with your hands, they are not hand held! You can hold an individual chip, but not the entire dish 😁
Ben, in the cooking challenge: This chili dog can't be a movie snack because it's too messy Ben, in this: Covers the nachos in rice pudding and serves the guac on top rather than as a dip
Since Christmas I've gone through a cocktail advent calendar with my dad, and despite them all having weighed out mixer, it gave me ideas on how to make quick and simple martini sized cocktails. With the whole nacho angle that went in and the flavors of the slush puppy, you could've paired up an impromptu margarita.
Barry then Mike as the first and second to go breeds the best chaos and insanity lol. Barry comes up with the most wacky initial ideas, and Mike immediately changes everything in a blind panic XD
i get where Jamie is coming from. nachos are a bit fall-off-y, while a mini pizza is usually not as much. but with smaller, individual servings, i agree with you
We argued about this on their Insta page at the time. Jamie was 100% correct. Hand-held is traditionally something you get served in a napkin where you get a portion in one hand, beverage in the other, and you don't faff around with a dish/bowl/plate. Nachos are served in a dish, therefore they're not handheld - his logic for the pizza was sorta correct. Because a pizza slice, or a hot dog are traditional hand held foods (That were originally what you bought at a cinema once upon a time).
@@revadarius2594 i know, semantics... but if your definition of hand-held food is food in one hand and beverage in the other, wouldn't a napkin or a hotdog tray be off limits too, having no third hand to hold it? Like, skewers (without sauce dripping off of it) or cookies might've fit your criteria better. Or soup in a mug.
@@revadarius2594 I agree with you. A properly hand-held item should have the possibility to be picked up straight from the tray as is and complete. Napkins optional. Like a hot dog - hold bun, add sausage and condiments, hand over. It does at no point require a dish to be served. Neither does pizza - you can cut a slice on the baking tray and hand it over. Nachos does require some sort of dish/plate and does as such deviate slightly from the definition of hand-held.
I love when Barry is actually on point for once because of all the episodes he just stresses out at the end or in the middle. Man deserves to be the start sometimes. However they should start giving out Anti-Badges especially one for ignoring the timer 😂😂

Where are you from? The now famous smashed avocado on toast started in Australia. It makes for a really healthy, really tasty breakfast. As a dip is the other most common way its used here. I love adding avocado to a chicken, bacon, mushroom, onion and avocado carbonara. Really yum
@@MaZEEZaM I’m from the Philippines! Guac would probably be the most savory avocado I’ve tried. Tbh avocado on toast looks really appetizing, I really should go out of my way to try it. Next time avocados are in season!
@@ensignjekov I Yes do, I think you will find it really a refreshing, healthy and tasty breakfast. I like it best if you have the avocado half, ready sliced in its skin ready to either scoop out and place on or squeeze to remove and spread out the avocado onto hot buttered toast, no need to mash it up though doing so allows you to put more on each slice. I like it best like that so when you bite into it you get the contrast of cool avocado and warm toast.
I fully agree with Jamie. Nachos are finger food but are not hand held.
Though idk if mini pizza is any more hand held 😅
So much love for pass it on I now wander around my flat shouting "Where's the dish?!" and how even in another room I can tell the order from each lads entry music! love you guys keeping us all happy and going during these times especially - a little youtube family :D
Hotdog Pizza seriously?? My 10 yr old son can and has made those lol Love the comedic relief another great vid gentlemen Happy New Year
gotta love when barry starts, he always wants to something experimental that none of the others (except maybe ben) are gonna be able to follow through on.
First of all: SO happy to see you do more Pass it on!!
Secondly: I would LOVE to see an episode, where you're making a classic french style dish.
My idea is that only the first person knows the dish (always great imo) and the order should be: Jamie, Ben, Mike, Ben, Barry
Oh. And I would love to see "Steak au poivre" with fondant potatoes.
I still call it a pass. It came together into a cohesive dish even if it wasn't the best you've ever done. That's sometimes how experimental dishes go. Especially snacky things. 😊
I agree. When you think about prior PIOs, this was a pass. It would definitely be upping their game to call it a fail.
I wouldn't have touched either dish, so it's a fail for me, but I appreciated the creativity of the sweet nachos! And let's be real, I love the fails more than the passes because they're usually funnier and more chaotic. 😂❤️
Pass, thanks to Barry and Ben (who are the best of friends). Great idea by Barry, brought together by Ben!
I am so happy that Lizzie and Ed are getting their voices in.
Perfect timing for my dinner as always! Loved the christmas stream, despite the technical issues and loving the new episodes this year aswell! Keep up the good work!
Idea for a pass it on: "Strange" delicacies must be used?
"Strange" delicacies.... we like that idea..... thank you!
So durian fruit it is then
Janice: "Make it handheld and not too boozy"
The boys: tiny bites on a plate and 95% alcohol :))
I was SO proud when Barry put a little salt in the sweet quac!
Do you happen to live in The Hague? Because I do and I haven't seen the buildings across from my home all day either :p
@@wietse1113 I do! 😂
James going "where's the dish????" makes me miss him even more. 😭😭😭
Also in rare cases like this having an odd person to break ties as well.
Jamie's face when he realized that he did, in fact, make pizza nachos lol
Ben’s reaction to Barry’s guacamole at 8:55 is priceless!
Mike squeaking with laughter at the back had me dying. I needed a break from all the serious news and Sortedfood always saves me. You guys are great. Love the reaction from the side from Ed and Izzy.
The look on jamies face at 14:20 when he suddenly realises that the mini pizzas are exactly the same as nachos for holding is exactly why I'm subscribed to this channel 😂😂
This was a proper Pass it on - with Huttlestorm and all the flapping 🤣🤣
Yet, I think that the final dish is indeed a PASS👍🏻👍🏻
I get Barry's point, but the idea was great and a new twist to "typical" snacks
I sooo enjoy James' "Where's the dish?!" every time
I've never been more proud of Barry 🤣 I haven't even watched the episode through and I'm already so happy seeing them improve
Loved that Barry added condensed milk to the avocado and didn't freeze it. That's a great Vietnamese dessert right there with some ice 😋
It’s a Pass. I’ll Netflix and chill with you Ebbers any day. ❤️❤️
Stressed and ill but the pass it on music always makes me smile!
I hope you feel better soon.
@@jennifersaar1611 thank you
I laughed so much of all the impressions you gave to the avocado+condensed milk combo. It's such a comfort food where I live, avocado mash with condensed milk or in a smoothie. First time I had guacamole I made the same weirded out faces, because it was savory avocado. Now I love both, avocados are so versatile. Great pass it on, lots of fun! Thanks!
Is the condensed milk sweet?
@@drdrdrk Yes, it is very sweet. Considering the liberal amount Barry put on the food processor, it might be sickeningly sweet even 😂 condensed milk is the base of some desserts in Brazil instead of sugar, like pudding, key lime pie, brigadeiro, rice pudding, dulce de leche or as a great topping for fruits salad.
@@Iseeblueskies I asked because the condensed milk can also be made without sugar. In my country you can buy it either way: with or without sugar. Though it's generally hard to find the ones without sugar.
@@Iseeblueskies and I loved their faces when they tasted it 😂
@@drdrdrk wow 😲 I have never seen condensed milk without sugar. Even diet ones here have sweeteners added. What do you use it for?
I'm new to the party and have been binging a lot!
A new Pass It On is making my day!
Agreed with Jamie. Handheld imo is something that can be held in your hand, on the go, without making a mess.
I'm with Janice - easy on the booze! 😂 Would love to see a battle of over the top monster mocktails 🍹
I'd like that. But no cheating and using the pre-made mocktail mixes.
what is a monster cocktail? is it like a freakshake, but a cocktail? if it is, well, that battle NEEDS to happen!
@@sther9608 I don't think it is a generally accepted concept like freakshakes, but that is exactly what I meant and had in mind! We need to make them a thing! 😄
Being German and not so familiar with some English names, I'm wondering: isn't Janice a female name? I know the voice of "Janice" is distorted, but it is a male voice or am I totally wrong?
It confuses me.
It's nice to know that Ed and Izzy still work the cameras. :)
i can tell this is going to be in my top 3 pass it ons. so ready
8:44 "This feels like it's all over the place!" Ebbers nails the vibe of the relay.
I like the mixture of mango and avocado. Usually from a pub meal i have a curry, pie or burger, but once had a simple salad of pieces of grilled chicken, raw avocado, mango, and spinach, in a honey and mustard dressing. It was delicious, and i've made it myself a few times since.
I have been an avid watcher since day 1. Seeing the team grow and change over the years has been inspiring. Know that your content, passion and presence is loved for its authenticity, ingenuity and levity. You are top blokes, gals; and two chefs :P
This was so hard to decide bc you guys did a pretty good job but I also feel like it could have been better?? I don’t know!! Either way, it was a very entertaining episode… especially when Jamie once again tried to cut something with a ramekin. 😅
Mike's laugh was so GENUINE, I was in tears during all the Jamie and hand held things moment
Jamie doing the kilo of feather vs kilo of steel argument with handheld nachos 😂
LOL! Mike; complete chaos to perfection! I'd give him a 10
I absolutely agree with Jamie - even though you eat nachos with your hands, they are not hand held!
You can hold an individual chip, but not the entire dish 😁
'Pass It On' - The exact type of cooking everyone does when they live with their mates.
Haha, love this! You're right.
Ben, in the cooking challenge: This chili dog can't be a movie snack because it's too messy
Ben, in this: Covers the nachos in rice pudding and serves the guac on top rather than as a dip
Exactly. Ben is all over the place in his judging. He targets Barry viciously.
kind of disagree, nachos are less messy, a chilli dog would 100% spill, nachos even with those toppings probably not
@@vidul7498
Nachos spill, period. You have to have the nacho plate beneath your chin. It spills gloppy stuff...
Mikes seagull laugh is something I’ve never heard before😂
7:48 i am pre sure that type of can opener is designed so it can be used in either hand
The best thing about these shows, is that I learn what combines well, and what doesn't.
Barry: Good idea and execution 8/10
Mike: Panic and silly ideas. 2/10
Jamie: Chaotic evil pizza. 1/10
Ben: Sucessful salvaging. 8/10
I'm sure Tyron would enjoy the pizzas 😂😂
Tyron is Ben's imaginary child that Mike made up years ago
Mike's laugh…it's EVERYTHING! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Barry then Mike as the first and second to go breeds the best chaos and insanity lol. Barry comes up with the most wacky initial ideas, and Mike immediately changes everything in a blind panic XD
"Nachos are not hand-held." By definition, neither is popcorn, Jamie.
i get where Jamie is coming from. nachos are a bit fall-off-y, while a mini pizza is usually not as much. but with smaller, individual servings, i agree with you
Jamie is technically correct (which is the best kind), but maybe the challenge should have been called "finger food".
Pass it on idea: Have one of the normals swapped out with another member of the Sorted Team that are normally behind the camera
They could also do a crew-only pass it on. It'd be fun to see if they've picked up anything from being behind the camera
"-a bit like a chili"
They all are so in sync in the most chaotic ways 💙
I love that Barry's idea made it straight through. It looked really yummy. Very posh cinema to have martinis though.
