Wait, what? You have NR in V-LOG. At least in S5 IIX on my camera. It was not working on a review sample, but it works on my retail one.
Also - yea, I use V-LOG always, but I absolutely love colors it provides and absolutely despise the colors STD gives me. To me it looks disgusting, like a Canon base profile.
When using V-Log during the day, first of all don't shoot in the middle of the day when the highlights and shadows are at their most contrasted. If the time of day isn't an option frame the bright whites in the clouds out. If you must get clouds in the shot you have no option but to stop down until only the brightest 10% of the clouds are blown out or it's going to look awful. However there are situations where this doesn't matter. If you're simply news gathering or Documentary filmmaking or a wedding and you just need to get the shot because it's a one shot deal, then in that case you really do just need to press record and get the best shot you can. But even then try and manage how often that occurs and minimize those events by getting yourself into a good starting position where you can reframe. And yea, when in doors in a controlled lighting situation, Just use natural. In fact if you're shooting outside at the end of the day and the contrast is low, or even on a cloudy overcast day, use natural colour profile.

Hi, Paul, ich benutze gerne Natural, Standard (in Low Light), v-log (manchmal mit Vorschau Lut in BM Video assist) und Konzerte filme ich oft in HLG (weil die Leute meistens auch mit unkonvertiertem Video was anfangen können.
Das kann man auch super dafür benutzen ja :) Hybrid Log Gamma kann man ja auch für schöne HDR Videos verwenden 👍
@@JonackFilm einverstanden, aber da HDR noch kein Standard ist und fast nirgends ausser youtube unterstützt wird, konvertiere ich es doch lieber in rec709
