Not mentioned in this video is that the "Sport" model has the best handling of any of the Accords (and the 2.0 is best overall, because its Michelin tires have better lateral stability as compared to the Goodyear tires that come on the 1.5). You are paying for the handling that is engineered into the Sport model. So if you have no plans to ever push the car around a turn, then the sport model is probably not a good choice for you (unless you just prefer its looks, due to its 19" wheels). You can save a bundle and get the LX model. It has good looking wheels. But not as good as the sport model, and the wheels are smaller and do not use low profile tires (which could be good, depending on the type of driver you are and the type of road feel that you want (low profile means that the tires have less sidewall than regular tires)). This host, while driving the 2.0, kind of made the 1.5 sound like it is slow. It is not. The 1.5 has respectable power. If you drive the 1.5 (and not the 2.0), you will probably be pleased with its power. But if you then drive the 2.0, you might have trouble going back to the 1.5. So if you cannot budget the 2.0, then do not drive it. Once you drive the 2.0, you will not want the 1.5 (and the 1.5 is very good). But if drive a Corvette, you will not think that the 2.0 is very powerful (and it is). So it is all relative. The Sport model and the Touring model come with low profile tires (great for handling -- taking turns). So there is not too much cushion for absorbing bumps. The suspension is really good. But the problem is if you hit a large pothole, the tires will not have enough space between them and the rims to protect the rims, resulting in breaking a rim. That push-button shifting is very good, although it does, sometimes, get in your way. For example, if you want to open your door to look back as you are inching the car backwards, you are out of luck. When the door opens, the car shifts into park. Yes, there is a camera for reverse. But sometimes you need to see something directly. And in bad weather, the camera could be blurred from rain or snow.
My first Honda was a 2017 Accord Sport, I recently traded it in for a 2020 Accord Sport 1.5L and I love it. The only thing I would change are the rims. I prefer the 2017 rims over the factory rims on the 2020.
I love this car, but that tiny ass sunroof is lame. I have the camry XSE with the panoramic sunroof. i didn’t even originally want it. You had to wait to get the xse trim level last fall. The dealer was able to get me one a little quicker with the roof. we already had agreed on the price, so it was a free add on. Now that i have it, it is Sooooo nice. Honda needs to step up on this
Just so you guys know, Panoramic sunroof is a weakest point in roof during crashes. Honda redesigned roof structure one of their models in acura just to provide equivalent safety as normal sunroof.
Only the 2.0L Sport has blind spot monitoring... the 1.5L Sport doesn’t. The 1.5L Sport also doesn’t have the rear passenger air-vents and remote start. Those are however available on the 2.0L.
I was wondering that. I have the 2.0T and I have the mirror monitoring. My husband was thinking of getting the 1.5 Sport and we were trying to figure out what it has.
basically the 1.5t is built on the LX platform, so it has the most basic of the options. Honda really should have built both sport options on the EX platform, because the LX is lacking in so many ways compared to the EX. The LX gets no proximity key, no remote start, no cross traffic monitor/blind spot monitor, no sun roof, no 8 inch display.. there's probably more, but that was enough for me..
I was one of the ones that said it's so ugly when first introduced and now it's looking more normal when I see one. The side profile is looking sleeker and sleeker especially with the Sport Wheels. This is from someone who has a V6 16 coupe that I love and says I'd never get the new Accord because of no V6 and no more Coupe. I'm actually considering the 2.0t in red.
First time i saw this car on the road was from the side. Thought it was some variation of an audi. The new accord at some angles, look like the audi s7/rs7. Really looks sleeker in person. Design is very mature versus the new camry which to me looks like it was modified by some teenager with some aftermarket body kits.
Love my '20 Accord Touring 2.0T. It's a lot of car for the money. The engine is a gem! Does not feel underpowered at all. Great torque and a smooth drive and ride.
I prefer the wheels of my 2016 does the 2.0 T has better audio as well? I wish the 2.0t had more for the money. I will wait until 2019 if some new rims or edition comes along like 2017 that was all leather sport special edition.
Johnathan Glez I just test drove the sport 2.0T Auto. It's significantly faster, 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. A lot more torque too. If you get 2.0T Auto you get Honda's new 10speed transmission, sun roof, heated front seats, remote start, and upgraded audio. So I think it's worth it.
The green light on the corners of the dash bezel are dark green when the engine is most efficient. When accelerating aggressively the green lights dim.
Hands down 2.0T for me. The 2.0T Sport is basically an EX 2.0T with bigger wheels, no side mirror signals, and an optional manual transmission. (I'm surprised that the side mirror signals aren't standard on all trims.) the 1.5T Sport is pretty much an LX with bigger wheels and, again, the option of a manual transmission. Does the 1.5T Sport have a power driver's seat? Oh, also, the 2.0T has a 6-speaker stereo system, whereas the 1.5T has the 4-speaker system. I went with the 2.0T manual myself. No regrets.
I have the 2.0 Sport with the 6-speed manual and it is far more fun to drive than any automatic. But that's me... Nice job on the video. BTW, mine is the 2020.

What qualifies the 2.0 to have the push gear shifter instead of the traditional? I’ve not seen that in a lot of the 2018 2.0 sports while looking on the web
I like how the 2.0 has a sunroof but don’t like the idea of a 10 speed automatic. That’s way too many gears to be shifting through. I’m sure a 2.0 turbo is more fun to drive but a faster engine means worse gas mileage. I don’t want to have to pay the cost of having a 2.0 liter every time I go to the pump. I’m gonna get the 1.5 liter.
Looking for a 2.0 sport 6 speed manual. I see you didn't test drive the 6 speed. I also want the sunroof. Hate the push button gear in the automatic. Do you have any comment on performance of the manual transmission? I know that Honda quit making the 6 speed in 2020 Very disappointing!
I test drove a 1.5 and a 2.0 I bought a brand new Lunar Silver 2019 Accord Sport 2.0 and I absolutely LOVE everything about it. I prefer the 2.0 over the 1.5, much faster and so much better. Way worth the hefty price tag and soooo fast. I'm in love with mines.
what do you think about button style gear selector on 2.0 and older gear selector? is it button style is more ergonomic and more easy to use than older gear selector?
Funny cuz, I just noticed that too and today I went back to my dealership to check! I have a 1.5 with Goodyear tires. And all 1.5 had Goodyear and the 2.0 Michelin tires! At least at my dealership
we own a red 2017 Sport. I would love to test the 2.0 turbo for comparison. we have had it for a little more than a year ~20k miles. reliable, comfortable and economical are it's strong suits. You aren't going to win many races, but it is a fun car anyway - it handles the curves better than accelerates out of the gate. After driving the CVT for a year, i would never mate a turbo with it - it seems to keep the RPM in a very narrow band. The turbo engine here has nearly peak torque below 2k RPM. Get out of that range quickly and let it spin. I am partial to the manual gearboxes anyway, so kind of suffering with the CVT. it works fine for groceries, highway wandering, kid taxi and pretty much everything (i'm just not a fan).
They're getting hard to find! Honda was the best choice for the manual, Toyota isn't offering it in the Camry. Traded my '17 Camry, barely broken in, on the Accord Sport 2.0T because I was bored with the Camry.
Here's the deal.... I own a 2018 Honda accord sport 1.5t. The1.5t leaks gasoline into the oil. So with that being said there's no competition between a car that leaks fuel into your oil pan and one that doesn't. 1.5t is a LEMON
Do you know if the 2019 is going to have a refresh on the ugly tail lights? Hate the wheels also but they can be changed, I have had 4 accords and 2 civics in my life. Very reliable I just trade lease in every 3 years.
Just purchased a 2.0T EX-L ( Changing the wheels ) and I absolutely love it. I owned a 2018 Honda Civic SI with the 1.5T and realllllly wanted the Type R engine. Went with the Accord because I am almost 40 and driving a manual was getting old in traffic every day for me. Love the 10 speed auto! By far the best car I have ever owned so far.
I have 27 years on you, I'm retired and went for the 2.0T manual for my security, few drive them anymore and having the sunroof means that I don't need to open the windows. I got the 2020 Sport two months ago and am really enjoying it!
@@MrScoobieman Try living in south Tacoma Washington driving up HWY 167 daily toward Seattle and get back to me on how long you last with a manual transmission. I wouldn't want a manual in that situation even if I was still 16 years old. Some of the most exhausting driving you will do.....THAT was the only reason I went with the 10-speed because I absolutely loved the manual in the SI. I recently moved to San Diego California...and now find myself wanting another manual again because the drive's around here are so much more tolerable.
I am also in San Diego. If you want to quench that desire for another manual let me know! 😅 how are you liking the accord compared to the si as far as daily driving?
@@IsThatChadHondaReviews Small world for sure....damn. I am actually living in Vista, CA now and wow...what a difference compared to Tacoma Washington ( course, I lived on the east coast most of my life ). I absolutely love the Accord but ill be honest, I purchased it for the traffic I was driving in. I wanted something comfortable that still had some "Umphhh" to it. I am a Honda fan boy and this will be my 5th Honda I've owned. I actually got to drive an Accord when they first came out and loved it ( same with the Civic ). Compared to the SI, they are just different machines. The SI was def more finely tuned for performance, it handled literally every bit as good as my BRZ and the manual was one of the absolutely best I ever owned in my life. The Accord is definitely better for daily life if you live in high traffic areas.....the 10 speed is an absolute beast and considering I have the EX-L with the shitty commuting wheels and tires...the Accord actually holds its own in the corners. I am used to winding mountain roads up in NC mountains so I really know how to push cars into the corners and I have been really impressed with the Accord in that aspect, especially for its size. Overall the Accord with the 2.0T to me is nearly the perfect commuter car for the price but the SI is definitely better if you are looking for a performance oriented machine. In hindsight I Honestly kinda regret trading my SI in for the Accord for that reason because I would rather own a more performance oriented car here in San Diego. I am really thinking about getting a Mazda Miata RF Manual but I haven't made up my mind yet. I would only have a 2019 or above but I may wait another year for the price to drop on the used market as they are still near retail.
Nice review, do any of you owners use the paddle shifters? I want a 6sp manual, but the wife won't go for that. I figure a paddle shifter is a good compromise? Yes? No?
I think the paddle shifters are so lame. Had them in my 17 Camry. I don't like taking my eyes off the road to see what gear I'm in. I got the 2020 Sport 2.0T with a 6-speed manual, far more fun to drive. It spells security for a woman. Guess your wife isn't interested in learning. Try an automatic with the paddles and see what you think. Personally, I don't care for them
Dude, All you gotta say is that the 1.5 is an LX with some added options including the half leather seats. On the 2.0 you get the EX features with the only difference that you get the half leather seats that's all.. Simple!
I have a 2019 1.5 L, and my God nothing has happened once. 0 problems, and got a new exhaust system for it. You don't have to do anything else to it. Sounds like a beast
Terry T how many miles does your car have . I’m looking into buying an accord but not sure if the 2.0 L is worth it or not or if I should just get the 1.5 .
Does anyone knows if can change the license plate light from the 1.5 sport with the license plate light of the touring wich has the switch to open the trunk? Or doesn't it work? Anybody tried this?
I definitely love the 2018 models, they're beautiful, pictures don't really accurately portray this car well. Once you see one glide by you or park beside you, anything you didn't like about the car will go away
The seats are vinyl (leatherette) and cloth in the 1.5t, not leather and cloth. The only leather is the wrapped shift knob and steering wheel (per the sticker).
Did you drive the 10 speed automatic transmission for comparison? Don't like the CRT, and I'm going with the 6 manual. Just curious if you drove the 10 speed auto. Trans
I test drove the 6 speed 2.0T and wasn't impressed. The clutch throw was too long, and the gear shift sat high up and it was kind of awkward to shift. (Imagine shifting a freight liner) I normally love how honda's manuals shift. We ended up choosing the 2.0T automatic. If you guys test drive one, let me know your thoughts.
Wait the Sports do come with sunroofs??? I was at the Honda dealership and I walked around and noticed that the sport that were there did not have sunroofs. Even the salesman told me they didn’t. I thought that was odd. I like everything about the sport but it didn’t have a sunroof. So my decision to trade in my 2015 accord went sour. But this white sport made me feel better. I have to keep shopping then. There is hope. I’m will miss the passenger camera and the dashboard screen. Dag I wish they would at least kept the passenger camera.. decisions , decisions.

Tony Tanti Agreed! I'm looking at the new Mazda6 2.5T grand touring it comes with a sunroof and it's the midgrade before the signature package!
Seriously tho, i have a 1.5t with a sunroof i don’t know what’s the deal there
I love this car, but that tiny ass sunroof is lame. Honda needs to step up on this
Joseph Wargo i agreed, conventional sunroof is outdated period.
Just so you guys know, Panoramic sunroof is a weakest point in roof during crashes. Honda redesigned roof structure one of their models in acura just to provide equivalent safety as normal sunroof.
Why does it bug me there is no turn signals on the mirrors
My guy went for a test drive in Area 51. Decent video tho, keep it up!
The 2.0 has blind spot monitoring
I thought the BSM/cross traffic monitoring was only on the 2.0 sport and not the 1.5 sport. The rest of the sensing package is on both tho.
@@Sami.the.auto.advisor The rear air vents are not available on the 2.0T. I would encourage you to research again.
I just got my 2.0t touring and I’m hooked! I love sport mode!! Now I need a performance programmer to open it up!!!
its gorgeous. detuned type R engine! bravo honda
At 12:00 what is that background sound? Wind noise? If so thats pretty loud at 60 mph. Maybe forgot to close sunroof
you were talking about 2k followers and you have over 6k now! Congrats!
Thank you so much! I appreciate all the support and people who follow me! My dream really is to do fulltime RUclips
I’ve noticed that if you look from a distance, the front end reminds me of the current gen charger and I really like it.
GumbyParity Mick yes it does. Especially if you black out the chrome line I did on mine. Looks a lot like an unmarked cop car coming at you.
Batman lol with tinted windows
Why doesn’t the 1.5 have an engine cover?
just bought the 2020 1.5 still night blue one. and I LOVE IT
Has it been reliable?
it was.. i did trade it in for a truck recently.. but.. i had ZERO issues with it.@@luisromero740
Anyone else get anxious looking at the low fuel?
I prefer the wheels of my 2016 does the 2.0 T has better audio as well? I wish the 2.0t had more for the money. I will wait until 2019 if some new rims or edition comes along like 2017 that was all leather sport special edition.
Johnathan Glez I just test drove the sport 2.0T Auto. It's significantly faster, 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. A lot more torque too. If you get 2.0T Auto you get Honda's new 10speed transmission, sun roof, heated front seats, remote start, and upgraded audio. So I think it's worth it.
Same 180Watts. Get ex-l Or touring for much better stereo upgrade
Just got 2.0t and I love it I test drove it 6 speed manual I had to buy it.
Johnathan Glez nice! I love it but I really wanted AWD for the snow. Debating between this or a CPO Lexus with AWD, same price range.
I lived in Chicago for 8 years completely understand if snow is a big concern it would be good with ground clearance
No regrets.
It does have a power driver seat.
I have the 2.0 Sport with the 6-speed manual and it is far more fun to drive than any automatic. But that's me... Nice job on the video. BTW, mine is the 2020.
Thank you for your feedback! Congratulations on your car. :) Enjoy every mile! If any questions asrise, come back and ask!
I recently got a 2020 Accord Sport 1.5 and I love it. Great on gas and sporty too
Does it lag when changing songs on Bluetooth?
@@leorodriguez6080 Not really
Is it worth trading from 1.5 to 2.0 sport?
Does the sport 2.0t come with remote start?
Yes sir
The sport does too... You just need to purchase the remote for 50 bucks on ebay and go to batteries plus to have it programmed....
First time i saw this car on the road was from the side. Thought it was some variation of an audi. The new accord at some angles, look like the audi s7/rs7. Really looks sleeker in person. What qualifies the 2.0 to have the push gear shifter instead of the traditional? I’ve not seen that in a lot of the 2018 2.0 sports while looking on the web
Because it has a 10 speed transmission
Thank you. Have you done the same for the 2019?
I have not yet. I will be doing them soon
I’m gonna get the 1.5 liter.
which did you end up purchasing?
Is the ride quality a little too firm? Those are very thin tires.
Gary Z get the EX-L, it has 17” wheels. Much smoother ride than the 19” sport wheels.
Your reviews are the best!
Thank you brotha. 🙏🏾
You're welcome 😊
what do you think about button style gear selector on 2.0 and older gear selector? is it button style is more ergonomic and more easy to use than older gear selector?
Just got the 2.0T all black, and I love it!
I test drove a sport 2.0T and it has Goodyear tires. Seen couple of them with Michelin tires in youtube, does it come with two variants of OE tires?
Mine has Michelin tires
Funny cuz, I just noticed that too and today I went back to my dealership to check! I have a 1.5 with Goodyear tires. And all 1.5 had Goodyear and the 2.0 Michelin tires! At least at my dealership
honda accord 2018 2.0 or bmw 528i f10 2016?? what do you think?
i love my 2018 honda accord sport the rims are everything makes the car look so luxurious 😍😍 i get so much compliments on my car
Hey does the 2.0sport come with remote start as a standard future
The interior on these is so great my sister has one and it’s amazing
we own a red 2017 Sport.
Where are the manuals? Everyone I see is automatic
they hve them
Bought our 2.0 manual two weeks ago because my wife wanted a manual and didn’t like the way the Si sedan looked. We love it.
They're getting hard to find! Honda was the best choice for the manual, Toyota isn't offering it in the Camry. Traded my '17 Camry, barely broken in, on the Accord Sport 2.0T because I was bored with the Camry.
How does the 2018 sport compare to the 2021 base model accord, as far as speed and acceleration are concerned? How much slower is the 21 base?
Here's the deal.... I own a 2018 Honda accord sport 1.5t. The1.5t leaks gasoline into the oil. So with that being said there's no competition between a car that leaks fuel into your oil pan and one that doesn't. 1.5t is a LEMON
It's hard to find a 2.0.
No?
@@buildmorefarms1007 Used. Yes.
@@N3wbMa5t3r Theres plenty here in the northeast
Do you know if the 2019 is going to have a refresh on the ugly tail lights? Hate the wheels also but they can be changed, I have had 4 accords and 2 civics in my life. Very reliable I just trade lease in every 3 years.
Can you do a accord 2.0t vs civic si video?
How do i have a sunroof on my 1.5t!?
It's only available on the 2.0.
Amazing review. I will go for 1.5 because of the price
Thank you so much. And good luck!
Do you get Blind spot sensor on the 2.0t sport?
I’m 40 and totally getting the manual!
I saw 1 in person and IT IS actually looks nicer than in the videos.
i love my 2.0 sport. love the pushbutton for the transmission. frees up the center.
Exactly! The push button is not that bad once you get used to it. I just got the 2.0T, and I love it!
I’m just looking for a great car that will last a long time ? What do you recommend?
Definitely a difference In performance Had to switch over to the 2.0
Any transmission issues? Or no problems with CVT Transmission?
So which one is better for long time run???
I love both of the 2018 models, but id have to go with the 2.0 on this one. It looks so sleek and fun to drive!
I thought you are not supposed to rev up to more than 4000 for the first 1000miles for break in?
Can you add navigation and satellite radio to the 1.5 model??
Does these comes in right hand drive ?
Simple!
yep
It has sport tuned suspension
Why does the "2.0" show a "1.5" icon on the dash, just to the top-right of the speedometer?
turbo boost
Why does ur make the horrible noise when accelerating ..... is that cause of the cvt
Is the engine suppose to sound that loud idling?
I have a 2019 1.5 L, and my God nothing has happened once. 0 problems, and got a new exhaust system for it. You don't have to do anything else to it. Sounds like a beast
Terry T how many miles does your car have . I’m looking into buying an accord but not sure if the 2.0 L is worth it or not or if I should just get the 1.5 .
Hi,
Is any of this two versions have the Sensing Features?
Thanks!
Ps. What color is the best for you guys?
Renzo Campana all honda accords come standard with Honda sensing.
FACTS THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL
No one parks beside me, I park a long way from anyone in a parking lot... don't want it getting dinged up.
The seats are vinyl (leatherette) and cloth in the 1.5t, not leather and cloth. The only leather is the wrapped shift knob and steering wheel (per the sticker).
2018 Accord looks a lot like audi S7
It does that’s why I’m going to get it

Yes, especially with a tune. 🤘🏿
IsThatChad Honda Reviews Yes I would do the tune for sure.
I test drove the 6 speed 2.0T and wasn't impressed. The clutch throw was too long, and the gear shift sat high up and it was kind of awkward to shift.
