@@thonk7611 Depends on the circumstances. If details around it change you might have to test it under the new details to confirm that no, nothing has changed because of those details.
You have to test it out to make sure it is real or not.

Carl once said in a stream/video that someone should make a troll level where there is a random spike at the beginning and if you ever fell for a troll you would have to backtrack and die on that spike. I'm so glad someone actually did it here!!

I absolutely love that the section starting at 15:21 is literally something Carl asked someone to do in a troll level ages ago, come to life.
A Section where, in order to die after screwing up, you must go all the way back to the very beginning (of the section in this case), in order to kill yourself on a lone spike at the very start (of the section). Troll Perfection. Especially after the reveal that the entire first screen doubles as an anti-softlock to make the return trip a nightmare.

I'm considering his other request - a vertical sub-level where a full floor to ceiling section is just mechanics to keep you going up and down the shaft for a while before finally killing you, and several ways to stuck into the shaft in the level.

It may have been a while, but a keydeath is when you die after all of the key coins have been collected
Key coins save your progress, but the key you get when all of them are collected does _not_

Carl spends his whole day being incredibly intelligent, working on potentially life changing science, that when he comes online he purposely becomes the most stupid person he can be to balance things out.

Don't be fooled by Carl's self-deprecation. Troll levels are just crazy, and that goes tenfold for the ultra-polished levels Carl plays. He really is a fantastic Mario player as well.

Cosmic troll: Red coin level where there's a key door at the end of each section. _Every_ red coin is the safety coin. Each door leads to a slightly different version of the same troll that all lead to the end.
Carl: "How many more times am I gonna go in that hole?"

That backtrack anti softlock is something i’ve never seen before, and that’s truly amazing
It even used the uno mas tech of being hit bit the spring instead of standing on it
That one anti was incredible, actually the whole level was awesome. The end was also super funny in how it trolls you 3k different times xD

The spike area was absolutely god tier.
I don't understand why Nintendo doesn't add a troll tag where you are allowed to do more shenanigans than in normal levels. They also shouldn't be able to be added to runs. But then again, Nintendo are so lazy, so I guess the question is rhetorical. It can also be because they are upset because their crappy programming is so easy to exploit and manipulate.

I forgot the editor out-trolled them all, but after taking _several_ attempts to stop 1:25 where I could see it, they've already won, no one else is gonna _come_ close.
Carl really tried going in the troll section key door using his red coin key. I wish that had been the end of the section, because he would have gone “YES I got out” and then paused as he suddenly realized he didn’t have a key for the ending door and had essentially keydeathed himself without the death, and there would be much “I’m so stupid dude”.
That spike room was like that idea carl had bout there being one spike at the start of a level and each time you mess up you gotta go all the way back to die
Someone needs to make a troll level where it keeps booping you into a safety coin before you need it

I may or may not have watched the first 5 minutes of this with my phone screen upside down, and didn’t realize it... and I was so amazed that Carl didn’t say anything about the game being upside down or anything like that. 🤣
16:04 Had a similar thought where the key door by the safety coin is actually a red herring. And after you get all the other red coins, you get stuck down a second path with another real key door that leads to the end.m. Which means you had to get the safety coin in the beginning as there is no chance to get it at the end.

I was really sorry for the creators because I cheesed this level the first time I played it. I went to the muncher section first and I noticed that the red coin could be skipped. Therefore, I skipped that and waited for 500s at CP2. Then I got in the car and touched the flag. I didn't went to any other sections and I didn't know what Carl still haven't learned(characters above the car). Fortunately I can watch this video to know that. That was a fantastic level and good job creators, but sadly I cheesed.

A level where you can't die anymore once you take the safety coin, that would be an interesting concept.
I think it would be really funny if there was a red coin level that could detect if you grabbed the safety coin early, and, if you did, the entire level is infinitely easier with no dangerous trolls, only for the player to be forced to keydeath at the flagpole
