A $70,000 Jeep is like a $50 burger. Absolutely no reason for it to be that expensive.
Well... 1 reason... Greed....
If your burger has 4 wheel drive maybe $50 is fair

@@MM-tf5ggAbsolutely. Jeeps are garbage.
As I have said for years, the only reason they charge those outrageous prices is because there are suckers who will pay them. That's all there is to it.
Yup supply and demand.
Yup, just like Call of Duty.
@@milehigh3054The whole point of this video is that there is more supply than demand.
It’s not because someone will pay them, people aren’t buying newer vehicles (as stated in this video) and are leaning more towards used cars which is one reason why cars with 200K miles are selling for $25K
@@mohamedbaradji7504used vehicle prices skyrocketed bc of Covid. In beginning dealerships didn’t have cars and people who wanted a car had to sign then and there. Then dealerships were paying full price plus more for people who traded in their car. And now used and new vehicle prices are high. A ford maverick new is 30k, saw a used one with 1k miles for 32k
At these prices you can literally just buy a luxury truck/car or a sports car lol. I opted to build custom my own 78 ford with a Cummins swapped diesel 2nd gen. Out the door all in all 40k
Nice
(in Denzel Washington's voice) My man!
I did.
Yeah but repairs and ensurance etc not the same, I would think the same and go luxury but I am on the truck for work segment
That's what I'm talking about.
Guy is gonna keep pumping out inflation Content and single handedly bring down the car market and I’m all here for it.
Starts with you, your neighbors, and people you come in contact with. Tell them only buy out of necessity and keep driving the old till the prices plummet.
Keep what you have, do repairs if needed, and buy a house
These new car dealers are absolutely nuts !
@@Flashtone08 Prices plummet? There is an issue of manufacturers eventually taking a loss. If the creation of a product cost a lot more than the eventual sale, how can a manufacturer keep functioning? That's not assuming every time a dealership posts a price, it's a small margin. Of course not.
@@lifted_above they will plummet regardless if unable to sell. If the manufacturing goes down with it then it was a stupid business move but the dealership will have to sell it anyways
@@harsh3948 Manufacturing is hard. Making vehicles is very hard. It's expensive and time consuming and extremely complex.
But I think I know why many domestic brands have gone mostly into trucks and SUV's and it's not because of customer demand. The reason why most things on the road are trucks and SUV's is not because that's what people want.
The crap going on in the last 3 years with manufacturing I don't wish on any business on the planet. If a manufacturer fails, banning some supposed pandemic, no government subsidies (taxes, a bail-out credit card) should bail them out.
These prices are insane. I remember when $30 thousand seemed very expensive for a car.

I remember going to a Ford Dealership in 2002 and they had a new 2003 Lighting. They wanted $34K for it. I thought that was crazy and how could ppl buy one…
My 1st new Toyota was 8,000 $ in 1987🎉 I would never pay 40k for a new car until 2035
Last time I was looking (just a few months ago) I found that the Ram/Jeep dealers I visited didn't seem to want to sell me a vehicle for a fair negotiated price. Yes, I was negotiating, but I've bought a lot of vehicles and I'm usually pretty spot on what a vehicle should be able to sell for and what the trade value is on what I'm trying to trade in.
Excellent vid! Nicely done.
Same story being told at almost every dealership. No one is trying to buy a $35k truck for $80k. These dealer markups are insane
Tried getting a used explorer and the guy was gonnna “give me a deal” then he came out with $520 and 15% interest on a 20k car i told him he’s out his damn mind and just walked out then he was calling me that he could do around 300
Its by design. They want to make gas cars so unaffordable it forces people into public transit, ride sharing , electric vehicles, bike riding, moving closer to their jobs in lego box inner city living. Its part of the WEF Agenda 2030 plan.
These marks up are bullsh**

I got my 2020 ram 1500 36k miles 5.7 8 speed 4x4 like 2 months ago for $38,000 and saw my same truck but 2023 for like 70k they drunk. New used is the way.

They are very nice but the reliability is only marginally better than a British car so you may as well get a Range Rover or Jaguar for the status symbol at this price point lol
This video is AMAZING!!! Amazing that you weren’t bothered by ANY salesperson within seconds of walking the lot.
I just recently went to my local, rural Toyota dealer to get the oil changed on my car, I was shocked to see they only had TWO brand new vehicles on their entire lot. They were both Toyota Tacoma’s and everything else on the lot was used. I went inside and noticed they had a brand new Toyota Corolla cross however, it had temporary tags on it and a customer had just bought it.
I think it's hilarious that a company that is known for poor quality thinks that raising prices instead of increasing quality is going to help them.
yeah, at the end of the day it's still a Jeep. it's a tough sell to sell a jeep for over 100k when i can get a more luxury brand for that kind of money
Raise prices without improving quality - every British car company.
100% this. Jeep is foolish trying to compete with complex expensive luxury brands - in 3 or 4 years half the parts will start failing in the interior of the Wagoneer as they use cheap plastics. Jeeps was and should one day again be known for rugged simple off-road vehicles that can handle highways, but not as their main purpose.
@bartwaggoner2000 I'm still trying to figure out who on earth would pay anything near that for a Compass. People only bought those because it was an inexpensive way to feel part of the brand.
Took the words right off my tongue. 👍
Not only are the prices outrageous, but they also design these new vehicles so that you can't do simple repairs and maintain them yourself. Forcing you to take it into the shop and pay a ridiculous amount of money for something I could've done myself on an earlier model.
Exactly. I used to do all my mechanical work and servicing but they have almost made it impossible. Not to mention a lot of these new cars have quality problems. I see more newer cars on the side of the road broke down than the older one's.
Mopar is infamous for that. I remember years ago when they stopped using transmission dipsticks, and the only people that had the dipstick were the dealership shops
@thefirstkingridge years ago, I had a 2012 Malibu. I needed to change the headlights....should not have taken more than 2 minutes. I pop the hood, and there is a random, long metal plate welded directly behind the headlights. It confused tf out of me because it had no purpose, provided no function or support. Anyway, long story short, I had to literally remove the entire front bumper or pay 235 to change the headlight. Took me bout an hour.

The prices are nuts. I was just snooping on a lot myself at the Jeeps. It’s freaking crazy. Let’s not forget the destination fees they add in on your contract. 🤦🏽♀️ not to mention an extended warranty they try and shove on you.
Car repossessions are up across the board. The Charger/Challenger is probably up there near the top of the list, but so many cars are priced excessively now that many families can’t (or shouldn’t) buy a new vehicle.

$40,000 to me, is considered a luxury vehicle. I think that's the mentality of the average American buyer that I know. These car dealerships and manufacturers are trying to push forward on a business model that was only viable for about 18 months (Covid). Good luck to 'em.
Yes, friend just bought a new Toyota car for $30,000.

I''m glad that people aren't paying these insane prices. That's how you send a message. Normal working people cannot afford a $70,000 truck.
they were paying these prices thats the problem. Specially when a 20 year old 5.9 with 200k mileage plus is going for 30k
I don’t think it’s affordability, I think it’s ignorant fools. And dealers are going to run out of them eventually.
I can afford a 6 figure truck but left with a $60k tundra (still quite expensive IMO). My peers aren’t buying these vehicles either. I don’t know anyone with a solid income spending $100k on a truck.
The guys I see with these Rams are mid 30s landscapers. People with lawn furniture in their family room.
Come to Florida and see what crawls out of a $100k dodge ram. Then take bets on how fast it’s re-possessed. 100% it’s going to happen.

0:22 for someone uninitiated, hearing that those dodge chargers are "pre-repo'd" implies to me that everyone who buys a charger gets it repossessed at some point, and that is a major point in the dodge chargers life cycle. EDIT: Come to find out that's exactly the joke he was making.
My guess is that they are pushing leasing and quite possibly the high prices on each unit will drive up the value so each SUV might lease out better with a higher sticker. Maybe...but most high end vehicles are leases these days.
We are living in crazy times.
$1,000 car payments are becoming more common (sadly). New trucks are costing more than my first house, but you still see people buying them.
None of the auto manufacturers are impressing me these days. Less quality, higher prices across the board.
Lastly, we used to have good lease deals to help with the sales price, but we don't even have good lease deals anymore.
Yeah. We’ve become a nation of idiots. Anyone with an average income paying $1000 for vehicle… go right ahead and get offended and lump yourself in that group
Gotta factor in the insane insurance rates too, our insurance wants the wife to pay 1500 a month almost for her little 2023 traverse lol

@@budstep7361Strapped for cash is right. I see several people in my area riding around in their big SUVs with the windows down and it's hot as can be. Apparently making the payment leaves no room for repairs.
I’m a truck driver between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. Doug Smith Dodge in Spanish Fork (South of SLC) has tons of billboards advertising new Dodge Rams for 20% off of MSRP and have been for at least the last month. The snowball begins…
Depends where you are, in my area they are all selling for 10%+ off MSRP with no markups.
Went to a Chevy dealership two days ago. They had the 1500 custom 4x4 advertised at 40k. Once we started talking numbers, they told me that was the proce if i had a trade in. So they changed the price to 44k. The tax was 4385 (which is not correct), gov fee 750, doc fee 85, ELOGps (bs add on) 1500, and Luxcare for 1300. Total price came down to about 52K. I was expecting for taxes to be high, but those add ons were ridiculous. Ended up walking away.
Good job! Don't worry, trucks will still be around when the dealerships change their tune 😁
Great cause usually once they get you hooked it’s impossible to just walk away..
@@redwelder they kept asking what was the "best offer to get my business" or something like that. I kept saying "what is the lowest OTT price?" And the salesman wouldnt say anything lower than the 52k in the paper. Then i told him "look, ill get this price that diesnt make sense (the price was the "non-trade in price"), but that price times .0825 (taxes) plus the legal fees, does not equal 52k. Take off the add ons and ill purchase the vehicle right now." He followed with "i have never seen the manager take off the gps and paint care before. Let me go ask." Came back and he said "yeah, we cant do that." I said "well thank you for your time." I Got up and walked out. If he wouldve countered my offer (45K) with a 47k, i probably would've buckled.

I think they're just setting up to get bailed out. They're not even trying
They need to reduce the price 40 to 50 percent if they want to move inventory.

Unless they start clearing out these $100k trucks for $30k, they're going to sit. And I'm pretty sure they'd rather send them to the crusher than heavily discount them.
Nope, a city or county government will pick them up at cost…we’ll still end up paying for them one way or another.
@@tipdog36Good point. Fleet sales are still high.
How do you "bail-out" car manufacturers without outright bailing them out? You buy their inventory as fleet. Brilliant.
that's right DESTROY the inventory, instead of at least making some $$$$ back --- yea that sounds like a plane!
I think that's part of the point. The manufacturer shows a huge loss and your tax liability just went to zero for how many years? And for those that buy some of the overpriced vehicles there is profit on that side.
This will be a classic episode. “They want it to be a luxury brand, but it has the Jeep emblem.”
I think if I ever bought a Jeep my mechanics would slap me upside my head... and they'd be right to do so 🤣🤣🤣 I had them on the phone from the dealer when I was buying my Nissan Cube and they were trying to talk me into a pre-owned Lexus from the dealer right across the street because they're big on Toyotas. 10-15 year old, lower mileage, good condition vehicles are where it's at. I've got a 2014 4Runner 4wd and couldn't be happier. The people are sick with these prices.
When they sit there for a year or more and prices come down to less than half the suggested MRP, then they can give me a call. They have screwed their customers for so long, now it's our turn to put the hurt on them.
fun how we can collectively do that by doing.... nothing. HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Just stay away from DRJ entirely. There's a reason why they're #3 in American brand sales.
Doubly that "they" will call you. If you can't buy the car now for full price, with the worsening of economics health, you'll not be able to buy it it for half price.
In 2018, I bought what I thought was a ridiculously expensive car, about $40,000 for a Ford. However, it’s a hybrid. So between the discount I got through my buying service (rhymes with Mostco) and all of the credits from the state, federal government, and a rebate from the electric company, my net price was about $27,000. I cannot even imagine spending $70,000+ for a Dodge, Ford, or GM. It’s absolutely insane. That’s a down payment on a nice house, not a truck.
and when it comes to replacing the 10 to 20,000 dollar battery? funny how the fed has to bribe people to buy EV's or hybrids, nobody ever had to wit the Corvette? or the SRT8 Jeeps/Chargers/Challengers etc...funny indeed!

They offered 14k and I said bye….the. Wanted to raise value. Sorry, I don’t play those games well. After their offer on my truck, I offered 20k less than sticker on their truck. I told them good luck selling that 2022 as 2024s are due.
I don’t doubt inventory being held back. I recently purchased a new Nissan and it was one of the few on the lot. Mind you mine has had an antifreeze smell since day one (dealer doesn’t see an issue until the warranty expires) and some of the protective film from transport was sloppily left on the car. Dealers wouldn’t be in business if they didn’t have access to cars, my car being a lone wolf was them wanting rid of that car. Another new one probably took it’s spot the next day.
I can’t wait till we see these greedy dealers shutting down. I’ll feel sorry for the techs. But other then that I’ll have no remorse. The dealers and the manufacturers have been screwing the public for far too long and I hope many of them go bankrupt.
Well the public is also responsible for spending this much they only charge what people are willing to pay..no one forces them except trying to keep the appearance of high level status

I know some people will say that spending $5k to $10k or more for big repairs isn’t worth it, but that is still less than one year of payments on these wildly priced new cars.
The thing is when needing one of those repairs/replacements like a new engine, most people dont have the 10k in cash at that moment, so it feels easier to get a newer car and pay it over time even if its not cheaper in the long run.
yeah, most people can't drop $10-20k on a new powertrain and fixing all the stuff on a car. They can qualify for an insane loan though. That's why people buy cars instead of fix them. People with money can fix their cars and save money.

@@illuziioonsipop6726 Few new car purchases are done with zero down payment, most need at least $3,k to $4k down, and actually down payments over the last year have often been in excess of that. So, considering down payment on a new car the big repair bill is not so bad. You are not wrong about how most people justify buying a new car. You could take a personal loan or possibly put it on a credit card (and refinance that credit card balance as quickly as you can). Its just another way that people who have no savings end up getting reamed by not being able to pay for an expensive repair by committing to 7 years of payment instead of doing an expensive repair that could be paid off in a year.

I have a 1980s Japanese pickup that still runs like a top and gets great mileage. Its book value is so low I hardly pay any taxes on it, and it has a full 4 X 8 bed. I can do lots of repairs and maintenance myself. Enjoy your monster trucks!
I got on the Ram trucks website last weekend and set out building my Ram 2500 Mega cab 4x4 with a Cummins. They start at about 89k for the Limited trim, and I stopped building when I hit 103k. They are insane. My wife and I earn about 112k/year, so money isn't an issue. I just think it's crazy for anyone to spend that much for a truck. They can keep it.
You need to go to a dealer with a hidden camera and act as if your going to buy a vehicle and see how you can get them negotiate since you have the knowledge from being on the sellers side!
Local dealers in Northwest Arkansas are listing Wrangler SPORTS (2 door) for over 50k. Insane. A few years ago a loaded 2-door Rubicon was high 40k.
I'm in Bentonville, went to Mclarty dodge and they wanted 62k for the 1st ram I saw with leather seats, asked them how many they've sold and what rebates they gave them and they said they haven't sold any lol. Got back in my mercedes and left
@bryanwhite3021 I gave up on dealing with McClarty. Last time I tried to buy a Wrangler (a 2 door Rubicon) they would not deal at all. I even had to track down my keys to my trade-in. It was the worst car buying experience. A week later I went down to Crain Ford in Little Rock and bought a new 2020 Mustang GT and got 6k for my trade AND a significant discount. Bentonville has too much Walmart money for car dealers there to bargain.
@@scottieray do you remember Christmas vacation and Clark Griswold goes to look at a new station wagon, buys it and then they junk his trade-in so he can’t get his old vehicle back😂
My 2016 Rubicon 2 door was 42K. I stopped by the Jeep dealer here in Idaho and they had a 392 JL with a 25K dealer markup for a total of $117K. I might be able to afford this but could never justify it - both the base price and the market adjustment are idiotic!
@bartwaggoner2000 Another dealer in my area is offering a $7500 market adjustment for new Broncos. The 392 Wrangler will never be in my budget, but I'd love to have another Rubicon, but not at $70k
Bought my 1st house 30yrs ago in a nice blue collar neighborhood for $82,500. A hundred grand or more for a truck or SUV is absolutely insane.
“You will own NOTHING, and be HAPPY.” Remember that line, from the WEF “Great Reset” video? You are witnessing it playing out, in the auto market. Toyota, doesn’t want to play the game with this, OR electric vehicles.
Love your wife’s comments at the end of each segment. Had me cracking up. “They’ll never sell it””that’s terrible”
Great reporting. Dodge, ram and Jeep have priced themselves out of the market. Anytime you go above 50K, you don’t have a market. Working people just won’t spend that level of cash for a lackluster, no luxury vehicle. The add ons of thousands of dollars just insults their potential buyers. In a way, it’s kind of shocking how bad this is.
Yep, Dodge has largely been viewed as manufacturer of "value" products since their inception. After 100 years, it's going to be a tough sell claiming to be a mid to upper tier luxury brand (without a commensurate improvement in quality and reliability). At this point, I doubt the buying public views DRJ products among the leaders in quality and reliability. Value is all they had left and now they don't even have that.
@NanuqoftheNorth They make some pretty impressive niche vehicles. Impressive from the position that no one else really offers an equivalent for the mass market. It seems they have lost their minds with this pricing across the board, tho.
@@hippiebits2071 Yeah, I've been a MOPAR fan since I was kid in the 1960s. As much as I love some of their niche vehicles, they have gone well beyond what I'm willing to pay with these prices.
@@NanuqoftheNorth The 5th gen ram changed the market for trucks... Every other brand copied them because the interior was so nice.. It was crazy looking at trucks in 2020 and how dated all the other manufacturers trucks looked. Looking at trucks in 2023 they are all comparable in both features and price so I wouldn't single out Dodge for having over priced vehicles.. Lets not forget the new escalade-V starts at 160k and ends up being over 200k with dealer markups...
I had a 2023 grand wagoneer series III as a rental for 10 days. Every possible option available. It was a phenomenal vehicle that I had little complaints about. It looked and felt luxury from every aspect but I absolutely positively would not pay the $130,000 price tag for that vehicle or any other vehicle. The world has gone nuts and obsessed with material garbage. This will be the downfall when it finally catches up to the economy.
Very true. I just went through all of this. I am in Georgia, Columbus Georgia. There is a dealership here called AutoNation which has an umbrella that covers several different brands from Honda, Toyota, Subaru and Dodge Jeep. I was bringing my Honda pilot lease back and wanted a Dodge. I ended up leaving with a Honda. I was just not going to pay that much money for a vehicle. Period.
They are cicadas not birds.
I can't believe how much pre-owned/used Toyota Tacomas are going for... I drive a 2013 Honda Accord but I was thinking about doing a van conversion and traveling but the new prices and even the used prices for these vans are effing mental so my mom suggested I look at trucks so that I can put a truck camper on it plus it's more functional as you can take the camper off and use the truck to drive to places. I checked Dodge and Jeep well not really Jeep I've always disliked jeep even though their truck is a nice ride I just don't like the brand my family had a Cherokee and it was nothing but problems from the beginning and we barely drove it. Plus as for the reasons you mentioned I crossed them off my list because they are outrageously priced same with what you said regarding Dodge/RAM plus I don't really like the drive for RAM Trucks. Hopefully I can find something new without breaking the bank.
We got a rav4 for msrp the dealership in Valdosta, Ga never has markups or inventory because they literally sell them before they get off of the truck
$114k for a jeep??? NOPE. Jeep being a luxury brand is a joke.
You got me with the "all of these are pre-repoe'd vehicles" at 0:22 seconds
yeah..that was funny
You did not see the auction video of repos, tons of those models , pre-repos! LOL
I remember selling a bmw I8 for 20k over sticker when they first came out. Then when nobody wanted it anymore I sold them for 30 grand under MSRP lol
This is interesting, where I live on the east coast, they are selling for their normal prices and below.
Something to remember about the ram heavy duty trucks. Most of them are coming with a Four link rear suspension and you’re losing a lot of payload capacity not to mention the junky dodge transmission. It’s almost impossible to find one with aisin transmission right now.
Replaced the transmission in my 1995 Cummins in 2003. Guess what? I am never buying another truck! 😂
I think you meant Allison transmission
@@truckercowboyed2638 rams do not come with a allison
They don't make transmissions. They use Aisin and ZF.
@@jizzyjake6783 ZF is German, I wonder about the other one. If that ZF can hold up to those Hellkittys Redeyes, & Demons nowadays you would think it would hold up in a work duty Ram?
I can't believe the prices. I'm so glad dealerships like yours still exist. $5,000 is all basic transportation will ever be worth to me
Precisely what ive always said. I bought ONE brand new car in my life, and I will NEVER buy another. I will NEVER pay more than $5000 MAX for a vehicle! A car payment can be the difference between having a life and NOT! Why people feel the need to bust their a55 working, just to drive around a "status symbol" is beyond me.
$5,000 is all your safety is worth? Because all it takes is a jerk in a big pickup truck to crash into you to end your life in an old $5,000 vehicle.
@@serious.business Do you PRACTICE being foolish? My older, $5000 truck is heftier than any fragile piece of trash built in the last decade.
@@serious.business Sure. It’s “safety.”
@@vicariousjohnson9823 You sound like one of those crazies who think seatbelts cause more deaths 😂
How's that QAnon cult doing?
Definitely depends on the dealership and the state you are in. My local CDJR in Alabama is not over inflating pricing and sells a high volume of all models. I believe dealerships should not be allowed to do what some are doing price wise but if the general public is too stupid and continues to pay those prices then good for the dealership.
Every single CDJR dealership I’ve seen has very few vehicles on their lots. It is entirely possible that most, if not all of the vehicles in this dealership were just delivered there. If these vehicles have all been sitting on that lot for weeks that’s one thing but if they’ve only been there for a day or two, that’s another. Ram trucks, Jeeps, etc. are all still selling very well.
@@texasfan8892most of the CDJR dealers by me are Lithia dealers. Lithia dealers aren’t selling much.
New vehicles just aren’t worth it anymore. 2 years ago, I bought my 2001 Ram with 52k miles on it for $5500. It’s almost as pretty as a new one and gets me where I need to go. So far, it’s needed an o2 sensor, 2 tires, and a few oil changes. So in 2 years, it has cost me what a new truck would in one month. It’s just absolutely insane to buy a new vehicle anymore.
They may have $114,000 on the sticker but obviously they aren't selling it. LOL
Legacy auto manufacturers have gone completely insane as far as what they think the public is going to buy from them.
I will take a Lexus lx 600 over that Jeep any day for the same price
Think of all the money they are saving. If they sold they at a reasonable price, people would buy them then the nightmare would begin. All the warranty work is not Cheap. Factor in the many recalls they don't even know about yet. Yeah it's cheeper to keep them right where they sit.
LOL love it!
I used to buy American vehicles, but I gave up because it's not worth the money. My last vehicle was a Jeep Patriot, and I had no issues with it in the 102,000 miles I had it, but you simply don't get as much for your money as some of the imports. I bought a brand new Tacoma six months ago and I love everything about it. I've owned Fords, Dodges, Chevys, Jeeps, and GMCs, and rent vehicles probably 3 weeks a year, but I've experienced lately that the quality and reliability just isn't there anymore.
I work at a dealership as a business development agent (setting appointments)that has 7 different locations and the Jeep dodge ram location sell the least vehicles every month
Only worth what someone is willing to pay for it……Hold the line and don’t buy.
Theres a DRJ dealership near my work, along with a Maserati/Alfa Romeo, and they are having such a bad time trying to get customers to buy cars, that theyve been advertising up to $12,000 below MSRP. Not just them either, MAZDA, has been announcing "Fire Sales" for the Miata, up to $5000 off MSRP. SUBARU, around the same. Jaguar/Land Rover, up to $7000 below MSRP. We're definitely starting to feel it here in California
Not surprising. California is driving off all the people who can have a second/third car like a Miata. I'll still keep my near mint '97.
Interesting, Mazda Miatas usually fly off the lots
@melissasmess2773 Out West not so much. It's pretty common to see a few of the previous model year still on the lots in March.
Thank you for sharing
LR discounted 7K?
My 95 Honda Accord does just fine after all these years. Just got back home from a 3 k miles round trip in 3.5 days. Didn’t even have to add oil.
Before covid…Jeep Compass was 25k! 😂😂😂 Choke on ‘em! My Ram will go another 150,000 miles. And my Jeep is only 3 years old in January…with 13,000 miles on the odometer. I can last WAY longer than they can!
I bought a 2019 Jeep Compass limited in summer of 2019, slightly used for under $23K. It got totaled by a red light runner last year...and I discovered that the same vehicle with those miles will cost over $26K today ...and that's with prices going down. I want a rav4 because of reliability but I can't find one plus the prices are ridiculous and their infotainment system look so dated. This Sucks !
Thanks for doing this video. Those prices are appalling! The big companies are committing suicide by raising them to insane levels. Making matters worse, the bodies are rusting out in 2- to 3-years in many cases. IMO, we are seeing several failing strategies stacking up: Pushing too much unnecessary tech into cars, cost-cutting in manufacturing, too much regulation driving down engine displacement, too much reliance on gimmicks like turbo or superchargers, devaluation of money, etc. This is setting the stage for the return of a "people's car."
Let’s goooo. People’s car.
I have a 2015 jeep cherokee, and it's been in minnesota the whole time. I have no rust problems whatsoever including undercarriage. The engine/transmission is meh, but your rust point isn't valid.
Turbos actually do have a place however the use of one is to get a smaller displacement to produce the same output of a bigger engine. Just slapping one on does nothing but make the car cost more if the engine doesn't get downsized.
@@sotastatesoulja I think he means vehicles even newer like 2018 or 2019.
@@P-nutBD thats his point they can just make the displacement higher and not need the exspensive to fix and quick to break turbo. But everything has to be "green" now days. worst car ive ever driven had a turbo on it, i'd rather drive my ford fusion hybrid than that thing. If your a smart car company you could get the same effect and add more mpg's by just making the car hybrid and supplment power with the electric engine, thats what ferrari does in there highest end cars thats what F1 cars are using also.
Pd off 2016 ram 1500, went new trk shopping, was sticker shocked & went home with my old trk with a much more appreciating attitude for it. Waiting patiently for prices to go down.
I’ve ridden in the back of a $110k Grand Wagoneer recently, and when I tell you it felt like being in the back of a 2008 Toyota Sequoia 💀 The materials are horrendous, plastic everywhere that clicks and creaks if you press on it, fake wood grain on the center console, just highway robbery at this price.
I’m hoping the excess pricing practices by the OEMs & dealers will lead to a culture of valuing affordable vehicles as well as holding on to older vehicles for much longer. Just because one can get a 90k auto loan doesn’t mean its a wise decision, specially on a depreciating asset. It is also not wise to get new & nice things at the cost of a big financial loss.
Interesting that a vehicle, boat, tractor, RTV, motorcycle, motorhome, manufactured home, etc. are depreciating assets the moment you take it off the lot, but homes are not. I suspect builders, the state, and realtors have had a hand in keeping homes appreciating in value as opposed to their real worth.
No, used cars aren't going anywhere. Single car homes are gone for decades
We were at a Ram dealer yesterday afternoon, my cousin is looking to buy a RAM TRX. Dealer was asking $25K above market price. He obviously said “no thanks, I’ll wait”
You all need to read up on the lawsuits against Ram’s faulty engines. “Hemi Tick”. The engine lifters will eventually eat away the camshaft after 100,000 miles. Their camshafts are made with a cheap softer metal from Mexico.
i’m not even the one looking at the car and i feel insulted, these markups are a complete insult, it’s like they throw random tax to see whos dumb enough to take the bait, shxt makes me want to go to that dealership and cause 25k in damages
Worked in a large corporation for years, and I don't know how many arguments I had about pricing. The argument idiots who think they are clever... 'we want our brand to be perceived as a luxury brand, so let's charge luxury prices'. Are we offering a luxury product? No. Have we be selling it cheaper for years? Yes. Then why would anyone see a higher price and think this is a luxury brand?
Greed in the auto industry is a pandemic in itself. This video is a prime example. When people stop buying new vehicles, maybe the auto industry will wake up after the car buyers have.
They already have, inflation with Bidenomics has depleted the average person's savings, that's an actual statistic. That means everyone has been living on their cushion for the past two years and that's now gone. Nobody will be buying shit soon, forget a 70-100k Jeep, not gonna happen. They'd be lucky to sell them for half that, everybody is going broke.
How do you do a video like this without getting ATTACKED by salesmen? Its practically impossible to wander the lot at most places. Years ago my dad would go browse on the weekend but now lots are always gated.
This what I was thinking lol
Sunday
Probably on the lot after hours, or on a weekend when they're closed
U can guarantee, if the dealers where on-site , they’d be after there next victim !!!! 100 grand for a ram , CRAZY ,, even if u could afford it ,, why , they ( dealerships ) manufacturers, need to be PUNISHED !!!!
At this point !!!! Boycott em don’t buy new , time they learn a lesson , at this point , they be 155 grand in 2026 !!!
@jonesroofing4854 lmao manufacturers have nothing to do with the prices, it's the dealerships. Rams the more affordable truck, the others are way worse. Yall cry babies need to stop screaming boycott over everything lol
I bought my truck in Nov 2019 before all this craziness hit. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a new car again.
It's crazy to think 10 years ago Instant rebates(10k-13k off MSRP plus dealer discounts) were a thing to pump the market for the future used market build back up after 08-09 years.
I loved your comment about "pre-repo'd vehicles." LOL 🤣🤣🤣
What makes no sense to me is these dealers get bailed out every time . By the city and state municipalities - they go bankrupt lose out on inventory or sales then the city will hand them millions to close down and build a brand new lot - they did this in our town - now there’s 2 more dealerships closed on prime commercial land - only to pop up a mile or two down in a bigger location? Makes no sense
Playing the system.
Connections. Leave it at that.
It makes perfect sense. Who are the owners of these dealerships? Usually the richest man in town. And who does the richest man in town have on speed dial? Their bought and paid for politicians. It is called capitalism for us, socialism for the dealerships.
The city probably wanted that land for a park or housing for worthless drug addicts 😂
This is how economics works. For it to be healthy, we need dealers, car manufacturers, etc. Cars prices are high - this is good, people have excess of money and should spend it. If in opposite - low prices and money worth nothing - this is bad. No need to be greedy. There is a price for everything.
