It's rare to see a professional at the top of their game still have the same enthusiasm as when they first started.
On top of that, a professional competitor that wants to encourage others to be in the sport. Lots of competitors don't want there to be anymore competition on the field. Jerry just wants the sport to live on, and get better

Best thing I learned watching this? How you met your wife.

Something that struck me as interesting - when he was talking about shooting fast and being mechanically limited by the action speed of a firearm, and Jerry noting that revolvers are only limited by your finger.
Heh - thats how you know you're kind of in a class of your own - when you choose a revolver because it shoots faster.
Except even jerry has out shot revolvers before
A couple years ago when he compared three different brands of revolver, he noted that his finger was trying to squeeze off another shot before the Colt trigger had returned
I think it's because semi autos only go so fast because of the gun resetting trigger resetting ECT revolvers maybe can be pushed a little quicker I guess. Definitely in a class of his own. Jerry your my hero man.

For several years in the 80’s I was an amazed puppy following Jerry around at SECOND CHANCE, watching him shoot every event (there was a bunch) I could catch him in. I remember him commenting about needing a heavier than stock trigger return spring.
One crazy memory is his record run in the
“Subway event”. You had to shoot a range supplied 5 shot snubbie that you had never fired. Standard table of 5 bowling pins.
He did it in 2.5 seconds. Crowd went nuts....of course.
Yep the law of inertia. That slide has much more mass than the hammer of a revolver does. It blows my mind that someone can shoot at this level. Truly inspirational.
This guy is truly a great American 🇺🇸. I was so delighted to meet him at a competition in Colorado. He was so gracious and kind.

Jerry's a great guy. He gave me some pointers at a competition back in 1984 & changed my game forever. To this day I'm still looking for Jerry tips
Really enjoyed this one. I was raised the same and was a mechanic then a tool & die maker machinist the in79 a machinist for the Air Force. Manufactured my first revolver in the Air Force in my spare time with some really good metals.
Had my first BB gun at 5 and by 6 I would have to shoot 10 bb's and hit them with bb gun with using only 10 shots at 15 ft. In order to get more bb's to shoot.
I was raised with guns all my life. I am 60 years old now and have been in a wheelchair for the past 37 years. I love shooting all firearms and love ccw 1911.
Wish I could do the things you do but I don't see it happening lol.

Huge respect from the UK. I watch an unhealthy amount of shooting videos as, in my country, actually getting out and shooting is practically impossible. Guys like Jerry have inspired me to do whatever it takes to get shooting and I have recently been accepted to medschool. Once I'm qualified, it will be my ticket to the US so I can finally start living (shooting). I can't thank all of the US shooters/content creators enough for giving me my direction and making me understand that my studies will be worth it. I'll be over there soon!
This man's been one of my hero's since I was 6 or 7, I'd watch him on tv as a kid and it always showed me that practice and training pays off. I'm 28 now and still shooting almost every day and still watching what Jerry does.

Not only is he the best, I see him as a rather humble man and he all of my respect because of it.
I feel like Jerry and Michael Jordan would get along in a really weird way. Jerry has this weird competitive intensity for such a nice man.
As I have continually said this is the elder statesman of the shooting sports. Mr. Miculek you exemplify all that this great sport can be, not only through your commitment to shooting but also in life in general. I personally thank you for all that you have helped to make the shooting industry become. A wholesome goal centered family centric activity that is honorable and patriotic all in one. Growing up in Natchitoches, LA with a dad as a speed shooter and firearms instructor, we idolized Jerry Miculek.
It is so nice to be able to watch the history behind the man I've always wanted to meet and shake hands with.
Maybe one day I'll get the chance.

Awesome video. I knew we were about the same age. I went to the Air Force from Texas in 1975, been shooting all my life, and my Dad, Brother and I have stayed together thru shooting for all these years even though my Brother and I both stayed in the Ari Force 20 years. Getting geared up to go to the range again and sight in our rifles for Deer hunting as soon as it COOLS OFF in Texas. Thanks Jerry.

Mr. Jerry, I'm just a year older than you I enjoy this sport a lot. WishI could shoot like you but, that has come and gone for me. I do enjoy making friends in the competition but, I have been for last four months. I broke my right foot and VA is trying to adjust some of my meds. But God bless you Jerry you do make my day brighter.

I watched jerry shoot in the gramacy dump 40yrs ago when I was a kid learning to shoot with my dad. He was amazing then and still is.
Still competing at World-Class level, setting records at age 65! Not senior-records, outright records! At 65! Unbelievable. What other sport has a champion who is eligible for Social Security?

Absolutely wonderful video. Jerry, I'm the oldest of 5 boys growing up in Portland, Oregon. We didn't get to shoot in our youth but in our old age, (I'm 2 years younger than you) we are trying to make up for it.
