  • This drill sequence makes for a well rounded light practice or great warm up before a big training session! Stay focused, run though each step of the drill in your head right before live fire and smile! No really.... smile! It makes you shoot better👍🏻
5 4x5” targets (folded envelopes) in a diamond or + shape at 15 yard
(For pistol move into 7 yards)
3X One shot from each start position (low ready, port-arms, table)
2X one shot on each of the three lateral targets (left-right-middle, middle-left-right, etc.)
2X one shot on each of the three vertical targets (bottom-middle-top, middle-bottom-top, etc.)
2X five shots on one target (recoil management and sight tracking is the goal)
3X standard reload (one shot, reload, one shot)
3X bolt lock reload (with only one round in your gun to start. Fire one shot, reload, drop the bolt and fire one more round on target)
3X empty gun start with bolt closed (load gun on closed bolt, rack the bolt and fire one shot. Unload and reset)
2X one shot on each of five targets (keep your trigger in motion and push speed by 10% here!)
1X four shots as CLOSE together as you can get them! (Draw quarter sized circle for aiming point. No matter where your rounds impact, aim in the same exact spot for all four rounds)

According to eardoctors i´ve met double protection won´t make any or very little difference.. The Db frequencies muffled by your earmuffs negates what ever protection you get from plugs.. Wearing double protection does not mean you get double sound muffeling..
Ivé been working daily with shooting/shootingenvironments for a looooong time and unfortunatly not always wearing protection wich resulted in hearing loss.. Was forced to end my militaryservice because of it after many many audiotest.. I´ve lost the ability to hear higher freqencies on both sides.. Anyways, was finally sent to a top notch audioexpert and he was one of a couple who has actually told me this.. I don´t know if this was just an insurance for the state to not get sued for my hearingloss or not but that´s what i was told.. I guess a very good set of earmufflers is the way to go. (Not US as you probably can tell by my spelling..)

    • @mtnbound2764
      @mtnbound2764 4 года назад +2

@Otium Borealis exactly, and no one said you get "double sound muffling". its just insurance in case one type of sound reducer doesnt effectively do its job, you have a back up to make sure that you get at least a minimum acceptable level of reduction.

Lena, you would be a fantastic instructor for children. Your enthusiasm and demeanor is nothing more than sheer fun. There is nobody out there who can be a totally adorable goofball and still be safe, all while teaching valuable lessons.

This is an awesome video! Touches on so many rifle handling skills in one session. And you took the time to write it all down so we can print it out and take it to the range with us. (I'm 65 and would never remember all this without notes) Thanks!

I Really appreciate the detail Lena has when she explains what is looking for at each step. A case in point is understanding that she meeds to change her balance-point slightly on the first multi-round set due to the sight-picture. Impressive, informative, very cool, and likes dogs. Love it!

I so wish I could attend a training seminar with you as the instructor. Not only are you one of the elite shooters in the sport today, but you possess an infectious personality. You have one of the most pleasant, hilarious personality that I have ever witnessed in my life. Most people could learn volumes from just how free and contagious your laughter is and I love it. Your a special individual that can possess the ability to be a world class champion and be able to still make people laugh and enjoy being around you. You are one of a kind and don’t change anything.

I have to admit I love just blasting away but after watching Lena's training with a purpose vids I have learned to be less fractious and saved ammo. Please more these are the best on youtube. And your hound is adorable. Thanks

Thank you for sharing the experience and more drills, please. I love that it's also explained what the drill is about - suddenly, shooting the target once ten times (like with pistol drills) doesn't seem so useless and boring. I've been shooting 100s of rounds without thinking about why I do it or what I am looking for, except for hitting 10s on a sport target. And there are so many things that can be done with this ammo.

I find the Miculek videos to be some of my favorite to watch on RUclips.
They just focus on shooting - no negativity.
So tired of the other channels infighting and only talking about "1911's suck, revolvers suck, boomers, fudds and Glock rules!"
No wonder the Miculeks are so great at what they do.
