We hope you enjoyed the beautiful and serene Sunday Project by Architecture architecture. The fusion of architectural elements and the incorporation of a central courtyard truly made this home an indoor-outdoor sanctuary. For more of the latest and greatest in architecture, interior design and house tours, make sure to order Issue No. 12 of our tri-annual hardcopy print publication - thelocalproject.com.au/publication/issue-12/ or our hardcover book ‘10’ - thelocalproject.com.au/product/10-celebrating-10-issues-of-the-local-project/
One thing this channel could do way better is take inspiration from Never Too Small, and how they show the before and after layouts. Most of these videos feel like disjointed shots all thrown together. It makes it difficult to imagine how all these amazing rooms come together.
It’s why I rarely watch - it’s frustrating. I spend the whole time trying to sort it out. It feels like it’s more of a cinematography project than a design inspiration. Alas.
This is SUCH a gorgeous home. It's a shame that there were so many highly zoomed-in shots and shots that only showcased the upper two-thirds of the walls and ceiling. Part of the inspiration of home tours is being able to take in total spaces and flooring choices, and being able to see how those choices flow together throughout the space. You all at The Local Project do such beautiful work and showcase such exceptional constructions that it's an immersive experience when areas are shot for the viewer to be able to view them in their entirety.
@@jen2796-n7s but the comment is not asking for the homeowners to show their bedrooms or private spaces. If they agree to show the garden or kitchen, why show only a zoom-in of walls and ceilings? Why couldn't they show at least one good shot of the entire room including walls and flooring? I don't see how showing the floor would be more invasive than showing walls if they agree to be on the channel in the first place. I loved this architectural project but was a bit put off by the choices in camera angles and filming
LOVE that opening line: "A great client is someone who really understands who they are and what they want out of the project." - We've recently redesigned our introductory client meetings, so we can help our clients express this to us really early in the design process. It's led us to create much more personalized homes!! Beautifully said!
@@ΒύρωναςΛαδιάς We designed a playing card game that helps us get to know clients better / faster. It's been really fun and engaging for our design team and our clients! We're also in the process of making that card game into a product that we can share - but that's still a few months away. Is that something you be interested in when it's ready?
@@henrietta9206 Sure it helps to have money to actually develop the designer's vision, or you are very ignorant to how much actually things cost. But I agree on some level, and that's why most people are better designers in their homes on their own budget than "professional" designers.
The color palette is gorgeous. I really love how this one makes use of a smaller space, and beautifully elevates it. Having a long, spacious table to work at is _so_ inspiring to me. Also, the "if not, I follow them on Instagram" bit 😂
It is amazing how the inside of the house is not at all what you might expect from the outside--a real hidden gem. It has a stunning aesthetic. I don't know how they ever leave home, it is so beautiful. ❤
All the shots are nice and well executed. However, as a non-native english speaker I'm struggling to hear what they are saying as the music are WAY too loud! Please tone it down (especially at the first 2-3 minutes) at least 20% from the actual human voice who are speaking and explaining that we wanted to hear next time?
Could you please share a copy of the written brief provided by the client that the two gents refer to? Would be great to have a good reference point as I write up my own brief. Thanks!
Amdesign Renovations: I didnt like this house at all...also, I am thoroughly confused, are they interior designers or architects or planners or project managers for large scale renovations ? 😢confusing AF@! If common sense prevzils id say the pair are architects but how on Earth are they talking about Yellow Ocre Colour Scheme????
i am impressed by the visionary homeowners' possession of an intuitive understanding of what they desired and by the talented souls who brought this space to life. their collective efforts have transformed it into something more than just walls and floors. personally, i have a soft spot for the way they've positioned the library. it's nestled so close to the heart of this space, as if it knows the desires and dreams of the people it was meant for. and the inspiration drawn from Luis Barragan's pop of yellow color is a vivid stroke of brilliance that infuses life into this lounge space.
Though creative, the filming is tough to watch. It does show aspects of the features, but I would have liked to see less of a quick span of this fantastic home.
i mean it's nice but i would eventually close off the master and make that the guest room coz cleaning and going out to get into one's room when the weather isn't ok is a problem
The home is such a haven in an urban center with the garden area. There is such a zen feeling in the home. It seems like an oasis. Love the mixture of stone and wood within the home.
Fantastic! Dare I say a little " left field" ? However I would move in in a heartbeat! Something really different and interesting. Materials and pallet of colours. Mixing of decades and influences. Brilliantly done. Thank you for sharing.
Nice place but not the best laid out video. If the kitchen is the heart, you didn't really show much of it at all. Not the working part of it. Just knives on the wall. I didn't care for the lounge. Reminded me of an airport for some reason,,, Until you showed an aerial view of the house, I had no clue how the rooms may be actually laid out. The video felt disjointed. Nice and light inside. Wonderful green space with the garden.
Amazing home! Just one bit of feedback on the audio: I found it very difficult to understand especially the architect with the lower voice during the first half because the background track was quite loud. I generally found it a bit loud but especially when mixed with lower voices, it was hard to make out what they’re saying.
Es una casa divertida, con materiales preciosos mezclados de una forma desenfadada y destacada, integrando el verde. Una casa sin lujos y cómoda que respeta el estilo de la calle. Me encanta¡¡¡
These breeze blocks are THE BUSINESS!! I can't with this channel!! Nearly EVERY home featured is amazing!! It's inspiration after inspiration for me to watch what's happening in the world of architecture when I leave my world of boring tract homes here in the states!! The whole adaptive reuse of this project is just Chef's Kiss!! So glad I stumbled on this channel!!
This project combined with the neighborhood it rests transmits such a cool, comfortable and just lovely vibe. It feels like the most chill and stylish friend in my life. I suddenly have a need to get to know whoever lives here.
A beautiful and unexpected restoration accompanied by a thoughtful narration describing the design aesthetics! Like others, I too thought the shots of the home were sacrificed for artistic flair rather than offering the viewer a better understanding of the overall concept of the house's flow and function.
Ive often wondered how they closed off the hollow blocks separating the outdoors and indoors. Is it open? Is there a glass division? Also, is the wall dividing the bedroom and bathroom open in the ceiling?
The hollow blocks are reinforced with steel coming up from the floor substrate during construction, and then cement is poured into the block cores to create a solid (and impenetrable) concrete wall structure with an outside surface and an inside surface in one. Or that’s what happens in the northern regions of Australia for cyclone building code. It’s not as common to see in Melbourne, but should be considered more in my opinion. Rendered, it can create a similar appearance to preformed concrete, but cheaper. Or use the block shape for detail as shown here.
A hop, skip & jump away from a bar ? Oh, hell no.....especially with that courtyard design. Are you nuts? That design belongs in a different setting. Definitely not in some jammed up urban district The canary yellow sofa(?) JAMMED into a 4 ft wide narrow slit? Nope. Good luck.
This is awesome. I'd love to see more of this rather than homes for the ultrarich that this channel usually shows (no doubt the clients for this house also have money, but they have real taste which can't be said for 90% of rich people)

Sometimes they do that for privacy. Especially when naming suburbs otherwise robbers know your exact layout.
It’s why I rarely watch - it’s frustrating. I spend the whole time trying to sort it out. It feels like it’s more of a cinematography project than a design inspiration. Alas.
Agreed! I’d LOVE to see a floor plan
so chaotic, and so much face-time with the architects.
Agreed !!!
There is no need for the music to be foreground rather than background.
Sounds like their sound engineer is deaf. 😂
I agree.

Often the owners don't want their private spaces shown.

Hi, the low frequencies in Michael Roper's voiceover are a bit resonant. The rest of the content is great as always

I wonder what kind of business they do at Architecture architecture.
Finally a minimalist home that's not afraid of colour

This looks like a really interesting space, but the editing and music make it hard to take in. Love to learn more about george bawa
Anyone know the clients instagram account?
Glasses guy has the voice of a great radio broadcaster. Such a deep, velvety voice

That bass voice

Not trying to be flippant, but the bikes are surely not stored out the front. I live in Melbourne: they will be taken
Like so many videos and min-docs, way too much unnecessary music
lots of cobwebs and dusting in those cavity bricks.
What about Australian spiders and critters? Is that not a concern in that urban area maybe?
The home is such a haven in an urban center with the garden area. There is such a zen feeling in the home. It seems like an oasis. Love the mixture of stone and wood within the home.
Loved it but would have benefitted from a floorplan
Guys the music is so loud I can’t hear what are they saying
At first glance I thought it was somewhere in Asia.
The music is too loud and distracting.
I love the juxtaposition of the industrial like materials incorporated in such an airy light filled design. An inspiring and beautiful space.
I want to live there 😍

The bathtub with the views of greenery! 👌❤
Would have liked to see more of the kitchen!
Got a lot of love for this one 💛💛💛💛💛
Wow! So warm and cozy! Love it!
The dust that will gather in those concrete Blocks 😳 not keen to keep cleaning those
Great point.
music way too loud
Although this house looks simple, I love the vibrant effect of this home. Really amazing! Thanks Local Project
your music is always so cool. what music do you guys use for your videos?
I was surprised this is in Melbourne
To be honest, the old house being used remind me to Holland typical house in Indonesia or in Singpore
Jawdropping
What a beauty. What kind of wood have you used on the inside. I’m in B.C Canada where we use a lot of Cedar and fir. Love the brick work.
Like the Wrightian influences and the use of pattern brick.
I love the nature and serenity

Perfection, that’s all one could say. ,-).
its so weird that australia keeps these old worker cottage facades for many of their homes also please include floor plans / layouts
O wow
What a stunning residence. Every aspect of it. Well done - to the owners and to the architects.
Well done guys! Excellent choice of materials creating a sense of calm. Who'da thunk that wee house on the street....
Прекрасный дом красивый дизаин авторские перегородки спасибо все понравилось
Nothing is of my taste, yet I lOVE THE RESULTS. Great project, original, timeless, cozy, love the jungle!
Beautiful 🧡
Materiality and texture are wonderful. All but that yellow carpet in the sunken lounge will gold up well!
God, this is gorgeous

interesting house
Love a lot of ideas that are going on here!
Wow!! Just wow!
Love this house but the yellow carpet will last less than 1 year before they go for something else, this will be a real mess in a couple of weeks...

This house is the worst I’ve seen on your channel. It looks quick and cheap and grotty.
