How amazing to get up in the morning to sparkling clean floors under-foot because of the completely flat floor required to run a robot vacuum and/or mop every night while you sleep… No step-up or step-down or sunken architectural features that are a pain, let alone not being disability friendly. This is one of the very few architecturally designed homes shown on this channel with function in mind over form for the occupants - living in it, cleaning it, maintaining it with the latest tech. I also just love the light, spacious feel of this home. LOVE IT.

OMG! Chris Gilbert! Without doubt one of the most important Architects currently working in the World. Yor 'mews' houses in the passageway in Melbourne are incredible and standard setting. This property is on another level! Stunning and superbly designed. And with the environment put at the centre. Literally. What a family home! For generations to come. The garden and the courtyard.
This property will only get better as the years pass by. Setting new standards in every sense. This has to be one of the best homes featured on the channel. On repeat. Chris, every continued success! Thank you for bringing this home to the LP channel.

I like how the house wraps around that internal courtyard and provides views of nature. I also like the color palette of soft timber and black columns and light fixtures. It works really well for that mid-century inspired look

This house is nice. I love courtyard design houses with atriums. The only thing that in the courtyard area instead of plants and flowers I would have tiled it and put tables and chairs to give it a restaurant vibe with some nice plants and perhaps a bar in a corner. Nice anyway. Everyone has there own taste .

You people and your attempts to out do each other in worshiping the earth through “sustainability “ is almost as humorous as it is preposterous; imbecilic as It is incoherent; and as anti human as it is tone deaf to the privations suffered by the 3rd world and the politics and pollution produced by those same places. Please, keep your religion of “sustainability “ to yourselves - and s hu t up

I find the big windows very disturbing because they are fragile and extremely expensive.
Do architects have a more economic and robust solution ??

I really didn't like the fact that the taps were running in the video. It's a a waste of water and contradicts the "commitment to sustainability" on your channel. Please be more mindful in future.

Would have been better to include a floor plan. The idea of a courtyard works in some climates. Here it has clearly resulted in spaces that are corridors AND inefficient use of resources. The most efficient shape is a square. A central courtyard is up there with the most inefficient uses of materials and when you consider the spaces are corridors …. We see light from two sides and you are unlikely to notice the dark ceilings because the spaces are so thin. Fine to talk about efficiency but when most of the house is glazing and concrete for corridors then …
