Beautiful car,El Caminos hold a special place in my heart,my 11 year old son saw one when he was only 7years old and told me"Dad that's the kind of car I want".He now has a 78 Elco that we're fixing up as a father/son project,It will be ready for him to take his driver license test in a few years and drive to school in.
Wonderful story elcamino a will always hold a special place in my heart too my dad loved them and recently passed and now I’m taking on the challenge of fixing his 1980
ITS BEEN YEARS SINCE YOU UPLOADED ON THIS CHANNEL
We're Back Baby!
I have a 1972 El Camino 350 Custom, A\C Car, Front Disk Brakes, thankfully the previous owner parked it in a barn in Northern California where I live. I just fired it up today after welding up a new exhaust with Flowmasters and Headers, it sounds awesome! Oh it is the same color as yours!
Really cool car, and awesome story! Thanks for sharing your uncle's car with us, Mike!
A bench seat is one of the best things about an El Camino. Great video!
Beautiful car and a great story!
I am restoring a 71 El Cam custom. Slowly but surely. Like the lower black stripe below the lower side body moulding. Most the time, this was painted in argent silver. Mine is white, w black vinyl top, and your paint scheme idea looks beautiful, so I will likely adopt it as well, I thank you.
Can't wait for more uploads on this channel
Wish I still had my 1976 El Camino. 😢😢
I love the color combo on your el co. I own the 87 el co, Indiana silver metallic on 100 spokes with the whitewalls 🤘
Yeah I've got a '72 with a small block 350 w/vortec heads Muncie 4spd 17 inch American's it's just fun & it's my 5th one HA !! Happy motoring
A sweet ride 🤘and a great story to listen to.
I have own three El Camino's in my life ,an 1970 with a 307, 1979 with 305 2bbl and a 1983 with a 305 4bbl.
I did not knew that the 400 engine was available in a not SS version.
I remember this teenager that totaled an 1972 SS El Camino 😢
Wow 😍😍😍❤💯 oldschool Chevy all day
Just bought one today!
3:27 some great history on the evolution of the El Camino
So nice!
Great vid I like how been redone with little extras it does make nice driving ute👍
Mine is the exact same except I got gray bottoms and a 402 bbc
The Falcon didn't come to Australia till 1961, the coupe ute was designed by Lewis Bandt at Ford in 34 from a 34 A model coupe
Mine is the same but all original and number matching
would you guys consider this car at $2900 and it runs just needing paint to be a good deal? im considering getting it especially if its running and just tinkering with whatever else it needs maintenance wise
Üblivious oh ya ya
Üblivious I hope you’re kidding, what
a pathetic “offer.” Get outta here!
If I could find one for $2900 that wasn’t a total basket case I’d jump on it!!!!
Actually, I like that console. Anyone know what it is?
Those wheels might be period correct for the late 80's but certainly not the early 70's.
There were certainly plenty of '72 Elkies around in the 80's, Eeyore.
I had a 72 el Camino in 1985 and put those same wheels on it.
This is what they called archers el Camino a vehicular hermaphrodite lol 😂
👍🏼🥂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
The 402 is 325hp and 480 foot pounds of torque.
Not in 1971 or 1972.
@@markg7030 yes in 71. My brother had a Caprice with the 402 in it. It had 325hp halfway around the air cleaner. In books it was also authenticated. Also, most cars in the muscle car era were underrated for insurance purposes.
74 was when they all had the big hp drop.
@@Grey_Beard72 ,actually it was a few years earlier than 74.1970 was the high water mark for performance and hp ratings,by 71 the writing was on the wall(so to speak)and by 72 party was over.
I got a 72
$6k suspension on Mickey Thompson’s
👉🏽DRIFTS AT A DROP of A HAT!
LOVES GETTING “SIDEWAYS”.
My GOD, most fun muscle car “EASILY”
@port nut thx!
hate the steeringwheel
It’s a carburetor. Learn to start it.
Thanks for the tip, lifesaver. Doh!
wow you cant even start it pump the gas peddle 2 3 times
Chevy copies Ford again, still a beautiful old Chevy!!!👍
The Rancheros were horrible vehicles. The El Cams were far superior in overall design as well as looks. Owned both.
Really cool car, and awesome story! Thanks for sharing your uncle's car with us, Mike!
