Chevrolet built a truck in early 60s that had a fiberglass bed,or cab can't remember which one, it was called Cameo ,use to be one around here if I can find it I'll get pictures of it and try to send it to you, enjoy your new post.
I have a 2012 Dodge journey with 230000 rusty miles on it lol. But if you ever make it to grand rapids Michigan your more than welcome to stop by and check it out. I hope that makes you chuckle a bit in the crazy times we live in. Keep up the great work on both channels and I will do my part of thumbs up and share where I can.
454 big block...imo what a true SS is...396,403,427 work too
Now that's a beautiful El Camino
Sure is!
I finally bought one. It was in rough condition but running and i cleaned house and restored it. Found a LS6 big block abandoned in a field that im going to rebuild and throw in it with aluminum LS6 heads used on the Vettes and by Yenko.
That is a beautiful El Camino people either love or hate the El Camino and I love it because I have a 71 SS original SS 427 which is a dealer option package it was my dad's he was the original owner and now it's mine
Wow, it's awesome 👍🏼. My brother had one just like that but white 👍🏼.
WOW!!!! 454!!! SWEET!!! JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Always loved the el co. My favorite is the ‘70 SS quad headlights w/ cowl induction hood!
Guilty pleasure dream car
Not to be a wet blanket and rain on your parade!
That’s not a real SS!
A real SS have round gauges in a dash not the long sweeping gauge and it has SS on the door panels!
That is still an awesome El Camino!
Best yet, is if you modify it you don’t have to worry about destroying its value!
Great channel! 👍👍👍👍
My opinion. BEST VEHICLE YOU have shown on this channel. 🤤 🤤
Glad you enjoy it! I sure did!!!
@@FreedomGarage I am sure you enjoyed it more than me, but great video.. just don't get in trouble with yt for promoting gas engines now... that's the next wrong think I bet
GREAT VID JARED MY FRIEND HAD 1 IN THE LATE 70'S IN THE SAME COLOR!!!!!
Great El Camino! Thanks!
My Dad had one. loved it as a kid
My grandpa loved those
Excellent road beast. 454 was a good motor for the ElCO. Thanks for the video.
Love the classic El Camino! I thought of you today, I was on my way home from down south and had stopped at a rest area. When I walked out there was a mint condition DeLorean.
That is awesome! Love the old DMC!!!
That thing being a 454 Big block El Camino if it's a factory one that's badass
What a beautiful car!
Agreed!!
What a beauty, Love it. Thank you Jared
Thanks for Watching!
Awesome vehicle
I hope I truly understand your goal in trying to create and build this channel. I’m loving it. The El Camino has a special place for me. My neighbors son had lime green one that I fell in love with as a child, right about this vintage.
My input on the new channel is, stop selling their cars and please just share what you are feeling. All I keep hearing in these videos is a salesperson and not just the car enthusiast I know that you are.
We had a 69 396 . Those where the Daze. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool! El Caminos are awesome!
I like it so much
Thank you sir 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
@@FreedomGarage FYI that wasnt a 450hp 454 most likely the LS5
Love those steering wheels, somebody wrapped that one in yours, looks nice.
SEM makes awesome vinyl/plastic interior paints in factory colors fwiw.
Very beautiful rig.
454…King of the MK4 engines
Pure muscle power. Nice Camino
American Muscle Power. Thank you very much. You and your family have a beautiful and blessed week.
My friend had one back in the day. I believe it was a 68. Pulled a 327 out of a corvette and put in her. It was built on a station wagon frame so it had a panel in ghe bed that covers where the floor board would have been. We turned into a hidden ice chest so our beer was never confiscated. Great times. Great uhhh vehicle.
My first two cars.
A 63 Chevy Impala SS and a 68 Dodge Charger.
Nice pair! Love the 66-7 Chargers!
I loved them all. I owned a GMC SPRINT had the small block 400 with the turbo 400 transmission. I can't remember the year model but I think it was a beautiful and exciting experience to drive.
Ahh, the 454 450 horse. Pass everything in 1971 but a gas station. Sweet
The '71 454 had 425hp and the '72 only had 270 hp. I outran a new cowl induction 454" '71 Chevelle by 4 car lengths in the 1/4 mile with my '68 El Camino that had the L79 327" (350hp), M21 Muncie and 4.10 positrac rear end.
@@victoroneill7924 Don`t doubt that one bit. Nothing spins up quicker than a small crank journal 327
@@randybounds2244 The '68 327" had the large journal crank. You won't see a performance difference between a small journal 327" and a large journal 327" on a dyno.
Great Truck wow they are special
My friend had a 396 in his and we called it "The TRAR".
Very cool.
When I was working in my father's garage around 1975 one of our customers brought one of these in for us to install a new clutch in. I recognized that this was not an ordinary 454 El Camino, it had the high performance LS6 version of the 454 and of course 4-speed manual transmission. It was for sale and I tried to get my father to let me buy it but he wasn't interested. IIRC it was metallic blue with white stripes.
Those cars were super rare configuration. In very good condition they have been selling for over 6 figures at Mecum and Barret Jackson.
My brother-in-law had a gold El Camino. A very cool ride. Big Block Chevy’s are not fast off the line but holy cow do they have a big power range.
They can leave real hard if setup right. Midrange + agree theres nothing like the huge torque a BB puts out. Addicting
sure is a clean beautiful car truck, I envy who buys it, thanks , love your channel along with G&G
Beautiful
Thank you
Car/truck concept with 400+hp is so cool & wicked!!💚
I have relatives that live in Norfolk MA and they sound just like you. Every thing is "wicked cool". lol I live in Florida andYawl sound real funny up there to us down here. Bless your little hearts.
Maybe if he said plum fine dandy it would sound better?
@@gordocarboNice lookin rig !!
very nice 👍
cool camino. love that green
Great vehicle. Brings me back to the days of street racing my 1966 SS 396 Chevelle. Thanks so much
Glad you enjoyed it
Still have my 67 El I street raced in the 90s
Being an old school Mopar guy, would love a review of a few 60s to 70s Mopars. Chargers are my favorite but any would be cool.
Man, that interior took me back to sitting in my 70 Chevelle... sweet ride!!!
Thanks for watching!
@@FreedomGarage haven't missed one yet... hope not to lol!!!
I LOVED THE RANCHERO TOO!!! THEY DON'T MAKE EM LIKE THAT ANYMORE!!!!!! WOW!!!!
I always loved the el Camino. There was one for sale by me, in very rough condition. I am no mechanic, I am a tool and die guy, completely different set of tools. To be honest I don't even enjoy changing my oil.
Jared....If I have many more fights with Liberals like right now, your going to have to step up the number of car videos!!
Please do more of these classic cars if you have access to them like this beauty!!!
Now you're talking, very little pollution controls' still a high compression engine, pure raw muscle at its best! Same color as my 70 Chevelle. Thank you I like that. Just one problem, it's an automatic.
Great car, with a great sound.
Aloha and Mahalo! Is it a car or a truck. LOL Always like the El Camino. A Gentleman's truck.
Beautiful car with a bad ass 454 outstanding
Wicked
This was so cool. Brings ma back to my youth. You have the best show. Thanks for all you do
Thanks!!
Drove one for years love it
I had a '71 SS 396 Camaro in that same green w/ saddle tan interior. ( glad it wasn't a green interior) 3.73 rear gears, it was a great car, plenty quick, handled great ! Those were the days !
Awesome car….
That is the real 454, not that junk they put in the truck in the 90s with half the horsepower. Extremely nice car!
It wasn't the big HP ,that was the yr before this one .This yr was lower HP and on
Brings back memories of better days. I had a 74 Camino, nothing fancy under the hood but the black paint and craigers made it look like a lifesize Hotwheels car.
One of my favorite cars. Thank you brother.
I had a 69 442 and when you’d start her on a cold morning it blew perfect steam rings from the exhaust.
One of my buddies had a '72 SS454 El Camino back in the day. When driving through the twisties in the Georgia piedmont one could steer with the throttle. They're just a tad light in the tail.
A couple of years ago I ran into an El Camino towing another El Camino at the local gas station, both restored and looking beautiful. He was taking the one he was hauling was going to an auto show. When I was a child in the early 70's my grandma had an El Camino, about the color of that one I think (50 years ago). Always loved those cars, and they had huge interiors.
Thanks for sharing, LOVED this one especially since it reminds me of my life. If I had the money, that one I would buy.
Sharp ride Jared , you brought back some memories, I had a 70 Chevell SS , Same green, one that's all original brings boo koo bucks at the Barrett car auction.
That is worth some big bucks.
Yup!!
It needs to come with a trailer hitch and its' own gas pump. I had a 73 Olds Cutlass with a 455 with dual quads in it. When I bought it gas was 39 cents a gallon. When I sold it gas was over a dollar gallon. I had a long commute to work and it was draining my bank account.
The ash tray has ashes in it. It lives up to its name. 😀
Back when new cars even had ashtrays in the back seats. Keep the kiddies busy
Imagine a 6-71 blower on it? To bad they never made a cap for it in the back?
It's a cruck!!!! A car that has a lot of pickup ^_^
Nice!
You should have shown the foot button down on the left of the drivers side floor board that no one born after 1980 will have a clue what it is. I had a 71 Impala in the same colors with the 402 big block wish I had it back.
Nice cruiser. Road trip, anyone?
Very nice car. Though I like the front end of the '69 the best, the '70 also is gorgeous. I love the back end, and the profile of the car. It sounds great, and looks like the front-end is straight and tight. That's a really nice car.
I never thought these cars looked good...seemed too big. Today, 180 degree change of mind. I even saw one in the wild parked on flat tires, so I included it in one of my videos. (Actually there were three but only one had the 454 like yours) . tHanks for the video, Have a great weekend everyone!
Good old days when you could sit inside the engine compartment and work on your vehicle
You got that right!
Love to see and hear some skinny pedal
Nice
Back when you could rear end someone and it don't total your car because the rad support and fenders ect are metal everything today is plashit I mean plastic @6:00 I love that view
It appears to be all oem very rare for a big block car.
It's a vintage rocket muscle pick up!
It's a car that pretends to be a light pickup. I wanted one (a 1970) back when I was looking to buy my first car. And yes I wanted that green color. I am glad I didn't get one as the dash lights are expensive and difficult to change if one burned out. How do I know? I used to repair them. Funny that the dash looks exactly like my old '71 Bel Aire dash.
I had a 72 El Camino SS in orange with a 4 speed. That car does not have an SS dash. It should have round gauges.
I wish I never sold mine. 😢
Yea the alternator, a/c compressor, water pump and starter are all rebuildable.
You are not going to find that in the majority of the new automobiles.
It will easily top out that speedometer!
Yes it will
C'mon man, stop driving these things like an old lady we want to hear that motor!!🤘
GREEN
You can’t get that sound out of anything that isn’t carbureted.
😎✌🖖👍👌🤓
It’s not a real SS with a Sweep instrument cluster but none the less a very nice vehicle.
I would spend days driving the beast around dc just to piss off the nut jobs
“El Camino” is Spanish for “The Camino”
Let`s face it it`s awesome . However what is it good for? A museum, keep in garage and go to a few car shows and show your friends. A lot of upkeep and expense with a masterpiece like that. imo
Many folks enjoy that
@@FreedomGarage I am envious but not many can justify it. There's faster for less. So what is the attraction? I am almost glad I don't own something that nice. I like to look though.
How much is it
I say ditch that Tesla and buy it. You look so much more appropriate in that thing. Heavy sigh, if I could get just one of them back.
Not a real SS. A few give aways. Need the documentation or dont pay the premium. Nice car, just not a true SS.
Not an SS
Jared I sorry I just hate Chevrolet
