Thanks Miles! I've been watching a thousand of tutorials to improving my research on the FB insight and kind of understand how it works and I have to say this is the best one so far, really explanatory and helpful!!
Right on! I'm still madly in love with this tool... It exposes such intimate detail about audiences that isn't always 'cut and dry' but it gets you thinking about the audience different and can synthesize some really cool ideas about their needs, wants, desires, fears, etc.
Miles In your description, how many of your own youtube links should you link back to ? for instance get part 1 here if you missed it now if there is an affiliate youtube link there and your audience clicks on there link, how do you get a commission ? How do you work it out with the company ?
Hey Miles, it was a very valuable video. Thank you. With that information it is so easy to give your avatar a statistic based character. Very cool. Thank you. Steffen
100% most people don't do enough research and wonder why things don't work… Because they started in the wrong direction after not doing enough research
Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate diabetes research after you already demonstrated Golf. Since I'm part of the wellness world, I needed the second 20 minutes of demo, plus the comparison between the two was interesting.
Love all your videos! This one is no exception. I did jump onto FB to start using this tool and not all the options are available. I guess FB phased out 3rd party data due to regulations. No more Household or Purchase info as of right now.
Hey Miles, great content I came across your channel a few weeks ago, customer avatar is an area im really try to improve upon for our niche which is digital & social media marketing. Magazine.com is focused around the US and similar sites for the UK?
Good video, thanks! :) What I still do not know is how to interpret these gray and blue boxes. Which color should interest me more? I want to run some ads on FB.
This is so helpful! I paid about 2k for a course on private label and they're telling me to do my own research but don't really hold my hand while doing it like this guy here. Think im going to get a refund
I learned a lot from your videos, Thanks a lot. Im facing a problem to select my audiences due to my business nature. it is on Instagram , I have small business selling mixed type of items from my home and the customers can collect the goods from my home or i will deliver to them. based on that how I can select the audiences?
Hey miles Im doing this now but I believe alot of these tools are not in Facebook anymore :/ or at least I'm having trouble finding them. I go to audience insights but the most I get is top cities and top pages
So do this research first, then let your ad run, then use pixel data from clicks to build funnels and LAA’s? Thanks for the quality information, I’m not there yet but I’m not stopping until I am! Haha, thanks again!
EXTREMELY helpful videos. Best I have found on avatar development so far. Thanks for that! However, I am stumped on what interest to begin with for my business which is real estate investing. Specifically I am trying to develop avatars for people that NEED to sell their home as opposed to someone who just wants to sell. We call them motivated sellers. What interests can I begin with to begin the process in Insights? Any ideas?
I used to go pull the lis pendens filings from the courthouse for this info. People rarely 'like' things that identify them as being broke or in pre-foreclosure. This is a tough one... Credit card consolidation companies come to mind.
This kind of information will catapult anyone chances of success in Facebook or direct marketing in general and Miles is dishing it out like candy on Halloween! Thanks for making your experience available to the rest of us.
#TheCandyMan! :D Thanks for the comment and you get it (most still don't) that audience research and truly 'knowing your perfect customer' is the biggest 'trick' to the game. Most people hate research, tho! hahaha... Thanks again, Ed!
Right on Tracey! Glad you found it informative and that tool has been sooooo beneficial in my marketing campaigns, it is difficult to honestly explain! Happy marketing! :D
Thanks for the great info, Miles. I liked and subscribed. I know that Facebook has made some changes to the insights panel, but I am wondering if it is still possible to see the "household" and "purchase" tabs? I cannot see them on my insights panel. Also, I can only see the age/gender, relationships, education, and job title groups in the demographics section. Is it still possible to see the lifestyle group in the demographics section?
few months ago i was buying digital marketing course and it was damn expensive, few days after my subscription were end, i found this channel. What a dummy i am, thank god this channel exist!
WOW! Just WOW! I've gained so much knowledge about learning a niche from this!! I Thank you so much! Love your content and thats +1 sub you got from me! :) Ill spend my time learning from your videos before starting my business!:D
Hey Miles! Thanks for sharing. I have a question. I am an affiliate marketer of a company that sells online business education to small business owners. There are top earner affiliates from the same company whom i can find their names in the "interests" within insight tool. Do you think it's ok if i can use the data to look for my own customer avatar or to use the data to find interests to target to? Or just use both? Thanks in advance!
I think that is a great starting point, but it's just a hypothesis… You want to analyze your results and test your ideas over time. But again a great starting point!
Hi Mike, I am really happy with your training! I am still trying to figure out how the research translates into the ad. Like are you going to just stack the interests you researched into the ad? do you put the interests into categories? eg. Websites and magazines? Or do you just lump them together?
Right on! I cover the tool from an ad set creation standpoint in this video: ruclips.net/video/1g17t182OgA/видео.html The TL;DR is that I generally look for lesser known interests (less competition with other advertisers when I do more research and a cheaper click) and stack on all 30 into one ad set. With that said, if there is one BIG interest like Tony Robbins that has a million or two audience size, I do run split tests at the ad set level, where I show one ad set/ad combo to the Tony Robbins audience and the other (exact same) ad set and ads to the 29 smaller interests and track which converts better.
Q: So generally when looking at Audience insight we want to keep the reach under 100k, however when creating the audience inside the adset do we want the reach to be under 100k as well or is it better to have a bigger reach( and how much)?
OMG.. you really give good content Miles.. and how gob smacked was I when I discovered I had already been watching Melanie's YT vids and she is your wife! Amazing... totally weird as is such a massive tangle of RUclips vids out there and that you are a couple and I watched you both independantly.... Serendipity at its finest...
The 3 series makes me understand CA better. I was so nowhere 1 hour ago bout this chapter, but now I think I can do a good CA. I understand CA better. Thanks for the content. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I am so glad that i've spent over a hundred hours watching these videos and videos from others. Some are so convincing at the outset and I thought that I had really lucked out. Then as I learned more and clicked on different types of people educating us in this field I found that the most are charlatans. Anyway I was lucky enough to be thorough in pinning down who the real teachers are. In the last three days I have come across Myles Franklin Hatchett, Kelly Ballard , Neil Patel, Charles , Malan Darras and the gut on istack. That is an amazing group of individuals and I haven't heard anything about Lamborghinis. Thank you so much Miles I'm looking forward to following you. Cheers!
Not anymore... There used to be a hack for this a few years ago. ...They may start rolling out ads to groups in the future, tho. But if there is a big group on something... There has to be blogs, authors, books, fan pages you can find in the audience insights tool that you can target: ruclips.net/video/1g17t182OgA/видео.html
Thanks Miles for sharing all of this great info. My friend and business partner and I are starting our first Shopify store in just days and this series is a huge help.
TOTALLY.... It used to be scary detailed when I uploaded my customer list, the data i could see... FB is backpedaling in every aspect of biz right now.
Miles What program can i use to shoot a two camera demonstration meaning if i am demonstration a technique on an implant tool and i want to talk, like you in the corner BUT i want to switch to another camera to demonstrate how to use a specific tool what would be a good program to do that with
Facebook is the marketplace for marketers, that's where we can go in and shop for our ideal customer haha My favorite metrics from it are the purchase behavior, ad engagement, lifestyle and of course the ton of other metrics. The location metric would be really good when running PPC campaign because it might help get lower CPC and more conversions.
Tell me about it... I don't have as many tabs as shown in the video and I searched online and a lot of people's audience insights' panel are also only showing with "Demographics, Page Likes, Location, Activity" I guess those are the only tabs available now
Awesome Miles. Cheers mate! If you're a local service provider, ie: massage therapist, would you still be aiming for that 100k monthly active people number? I guess it would depend on you niche and population, but is there any number that is just too low or not relevant? Or would it just mean your ads don't reach as many people? I hope that makes sense 🤣
You are correct... Don't try to 'inflate' the audience size when you are going local... People from 25 miles away simply won't make the drive even if you have great ad copy! Relevance is the trick... and focusing on Google results, showing up on the map in Google organically is key for small businesses!
Awesome, Thank you very much. I'm going through your videos one by one and trying to learn as I go. I'm a button pusher by nature, but FB has a LOT of buttons. I'd but given up hope on figuring this on my own when I stumbled across your youtube channel which is exactly what I needed to be able to connect the dots. Thank you very much for all you're doing. I greatly appreciate it
2 interesting (assumption) questions for you: 1.) do you still feel the same way about Facebook ads being undervalued? 2.) this ones random and not as relevant to the video (I apologize): have you noticed Frank Kerns new philosophy of marketing funnels? Utilizing Facebooks ad platform as the primary way to distribute content vs traditional email, lead magnets, etc... I guess I’m curious what your thoughts are on landing pages in 2018? Im excited about them but just don’t know if they are still as effective?
1 Yes. 2 Frank has mansions and Rolls Royce's to pay for... He has to make up stuff to sell. Landing pages and email lists I OWN and that is key to me.
Hey Miles, got a question and I want to make sure that I have this right. Although we are able to dive into an audience, we still shouldn't advertise with a campaign until we have 30 interest associated with that prospect audience? Is that correct?
Absolutely rocking video. Now that Facebook Audience Insights are going away, how would you navigate the new Facebook Business Suite insights?
Thanks Miles!

Great info here, thanks! You mention fears, how can i find the fears of the golf avatar example you gave? I didnt see how we could find fears
Loving these videos - thank you! FYI, Diabetes Mellitus is the official scientific name for diabetes :)
There it is!
Miles
In your description, how many of your own youtube links should you link back to ?
for instance
get part 1 here if you missed it
now if there is an affiliate youtube link there and your audience clicks on there link, how do you get a commission ?
How do you work it out with the company ?
+Anthony LaVacca as many as are relevant... The vendor pays per sign up... Just find their 'affiliates' link and sign up...
did facebook remove household and purchase tab? I can't see them on the insight panel.
I notice this as well.
Hey Miles, it was a very valuable video. Thank you. With that information it is so easy to give your avatar a statistic based character. Very cool. Thank you. Steffen
Thank you for super valuable information!
absolutely my pleasure
Thanks for the video! You are amazing!
+Valdas you are welcome
Appreciate the FB Audience Insights depth really allowed me to understand the importance of RESEARCH.
100% most people don't do enough research and wonder why things don't work… Because they started in the wrong direction after not doing enough research
Gratitude Miles.... Thanks you so much for your knowledge and dedication to this channel....

Ya, they've thinned out this tool a TON recently.

Hi Miles! Since Facebook audience insights no longer exists, do you have an alternative?
Hey miles Im doing this now but I believe alot of these tools are not in Facebook anymore :/ or at least I'm having trouble finding them. I go to audience insights but the most I get is top cities and top pages
Extraordinary. Too valuable information. Our business to another level.
thank you so much, your content is so extremely helpful!!
I maxed out at about 12 hours of intake. Another great video ... brain going nutso!!! WHAT FUN!!!
Wow... Be sure to take some time in nature and meditate on it all so it can sink into your subconscious!
ruclips.net/video/rSqocM4lr5c/видео.html
how can i use this for bizopps?
The same way you use it for every other niche...
So do this research first, then let your ad run, then use pixel data from clicks to build funnels and LAA’s? Thanks for the quality information, I’m not there yet but I’m not stopping until I am! Haha, thanks again!
Pretty much, ya!

LOVe it too, But where did all the tools go? (Ie dempgraphics/household)
Thanks Miles I really enjoyed this. It was very helpful and informative. I believe that it will help me with my marketing campaigns. Tracey

They are making big sweeping changes because of Europe's new privacy law, GDPR...

Facebook has gone through so many changes since this video - how would you get to this info and navigate the insights in 2021?
I have an updated customer avatar course. Search it out!!!

Great again Miles, Thanks Man - that insights tool is so powerful when you know how to put it to use.
It is one of my favorites for sure

Thanks Annette! I appreciate your time and comment!
Great demographics hack!
:D
Miles you're the man! Q: What software do you use for your videos?
milesbeckler.com/screencast
Thank you
Do you also do consulting work?
I don't
this is absolutely amazing, thank you. I had no idea of this tool.
