The XFL played regular games on the Saturday and Sunday this season with a couple of games on Thursday as a test for the 2024 season they may stick to playing games on just Sat and Sun in the afternoon/early evening. As for the XFL losing $60 million that was mostly debt from 2020 and was expected to be lost. Merger talks are overstated the XFL has plans to remain a separate league from the NFL and with their position of starting in Feb and ending around May/June it leaves time for players to recover and shop their footage around to NFL teams also AJ McCarran choosing to play in the XFL instead of taking the boatload of money offered to him by an NFL team to be a backup is a plus for the XFL because there could be other players who would love to play football instead of just sitting on the bench. If the XFL focuses on building their own stars while also allowing players to leave to join NFL teams if they want then they'll do just fine. Also the USFL is in talks with the NFL to potentially be a minor league for the NFL provided the NFLPA allows it which would be good for the USFL as I think that the if the NFL does accept the USFL as minor league they can move the USFL to replace the preseason of the NFL have it start earlier and have a "preseason superbowl" or call it the "Megabowl" or "Minorbowl" or whatever. Thought the perfect scenario I would like is if both the XFL and USFL remain separate leagues and become viable options for football players to have a career even if it's not in the NFL also having three pro leagues would make contracts better like if both the XFL and USFL establish themselves and get more advertisers as well as bring in more revenue it would be a plus.
Also as for the XFL selling teams to owners I don't think that would be good thought I have been thinking about an idea that the XFL could possible do which is to separate the Head Coach and GM positions because as it stands now they're the same person so separating them would be good and they could give each team it's own account where the GM would control as well as give each team its' own training hub in the city it represents where players would live and train during the season that way home games feel like home games. While also allowing the GM to create events that would bring in revenue for the team though the XFL would still pay the players and the team GMs would worry about promoting the team and getting fans into the home stadiums for the games as well as running the team social media.

Here are some of my thoughts, most of which I agree with you but just wanted to elaborate on. 1) Got to play early games on Saturday and Sunday. See DC and Seattle. Match it up with what people are used to: A game at 10am, then 1pm pacific time just like the NFL. 2) I love that they start in Feb after the super bowl. I am still in Football mode. And its too cold to go out and do anything else anyway. This could hurt some of the attendance, but try to play early season games in Domes and warm weather cities. Plus, at this point I think the TV ratings are more important. I like the USFL, but by spring I was finally getting tired of football. And Spring/summer I was missing games going on weekend trips and camping. 3) I believe, for a major business start up...60 million is not that bad. Sounds bad to regular people. But, if that gets cut to 30 million, then even in year 3 all is good. 4) Personally I would LOVE the XFL and USFL to merge. Lets be honest, we know there are great players that just missed the NFL for whatever reason...but not 16 teams worth. That goes for coaching also. But I understand, they are two different leagues with 2 different business plans. So...in that case....USFL needs to move to same Winter/spring schedule as XFL. Then, at least we are not burned out on football in May. And then you can have the winner of each league play in a "Spring Bowl" last weekend of May. Maybe call it the "World Series of Football" because that would be like how baseballs 2 leagues were separate and never played each other until the World Series. 5)Lastly, any spring football league needs some teams in big markets (LA and NY) but mostly have teams in the biggest non NFL markets. I call it the MLS approach. MLS made sure they have covered all the biggest markets for TV ratings. Then, they have lots of medium size markets. So check this out. The Big market teams are not necessarily the best supported teams. In fact, most are the worst supported attendance. But, then MLS takes that NY team or Chicago, Denver, Houston team and put them on TV AT Seattle. AT Atlanta, Charolotte, Nashville, Portland etc. So, I think XFL should get out of Vegas and go back to LA. Then, you put opening night game on TV as LA Wildcats AT St. Louis Battlehawks. New York Guardians AT DC defenders. Now, the stadiums are full, looks great on TV. and Ratings potentially are bigger as the big markets are tunning in. What do you think?

@@SacTownLions0 I agree with your last point kind of but leave the team in Vegas but also get either an LA or San Diego or Oakland team anyone of those cites would get the LA TV market. The XFL may have renewed their trademark on the LA Wildcats and could be bringing the team back as Vegas is a good city to be in as the attendance was consistent week after week so that's good for the team and the league.

how much can either the xfl/usfl expand before the talent pool for players and coaches reaches the bottom of the barrel if they haven't reached already?

Sorry, but CFL is way better than XFL in everyway. I do hope XFL won't fail, but it will be limited pretty much to southern states.
As for NFL teams moving to Canada, there is not enough interest to pay NFL priced tickets in Toronto, a city where basketball and soccer have more fans than NFL fans due to immigrants.
