Great sportsmanship and humility from Sasha. Carlos was really fantastic in 4th and 5th sets, and Sasha dropped his level a little bit. He definitely made several big misses in the 5th, especially volleys, his 1st serve was unreliable … So the overall trend was for Carlos. Logical winer.

Sasha was honest. He was robbed, yes. But he frankly admitted at the end of the interview that Carlos deserved as , so far, he simply executes at a superior level.
Zverev played well in parts. Same goes for Alcaraz. But when you conpare, because Alcaraz has a better variety and skillset overall, these patches of dip in form within a match don't hurt him as they hurt Zverev. Its similar to the big three. Because their game is so good, if you give a slight opening, they will make a comeback. After set 3, Zverev had a considerable dip in form, unforced errors, missing volleys, misjudging the lobs etc. I won't say Alcaraz played his 100%, but his 80% was better than Zverev's 90%. May be it was tiredness, nerves but last two sets Zverev really struggled with consistent tennis and seeing that Alcaraz went for more and got results. Also, Zverev was very defensive in last 2 sets. Alcaraz got great opportunity to decide what he wants to do in a rally as Zverev was not being aggressive. Another great tactic was moon balling. High loopy shots troubled Zverev on his forehand specifically. Zverev did have lot of chances to come back in last two sets, but couldn't string few good points together. He will have his chances. My key takeaway is that Zverev needs to trust himself more and be aggressive on big points to give himself maximum chance. He does that when he knows there's no other option for eg against Nadal. But when he feels he may win with baseline game alone, that's risky. Alcaraz also needs to probably work on shot selection as this level may not always get him through. However, having won 3 majors already, I think he has a lot of time to improve.
Sascha played a great match today. Served well, kept pressure on Carlos - did as well as I've ever seen him play. But Carlos is Carlos and his style of playing isn't like other players.
