    Why are the reporters allowed to ask questions that aren't even remotely related to Tennis?
    Mess up his head so that we cannot see a good final between the two most deserving people in the tournament.
    Zverev has earned his spot and it should have been about his victory and thoughts on the next match.
    It is people like me who are rooting for Alcaraz but want him to win fair and square not because of the opponents frustrations.
    People get upset and some idiots are commenting "what is wrong in being asked these questions", I am glad Zverev was straight enough to say I do not want to hear about this ever. haha that, on the second reporters question not the first. he resisted on the first but quickly concluded on what was going on.

      The reporters are asking because it’s their fucking job. A star tennis player’s domestic violence trial is a big story. The case being dropped this very morning merits some questions about it. Also I don’t believe your concerns over these questions causing him such mental frustration that it affects his tennis, unless you’re just not paying attention to the tennis. the evidence is quite the contrary: whether he is an innocent or guilty man, he has been dealing with these accusations and questions for years and has dealt with this court appeal trial during the entirety of this run to his first French Open final through a difficult draw…so it certainly hasn’t affected his game negatively, he is great at compartmentalizing.

    All these people in the comments don't seem to have read the statements by the court or the journalistic reports on the decision. No, he wasn't "proved innocent," that can't really be done in most cases, especially this one which didn't go to trial. According to BBC Sport, the court said this decision is not a verdict, no proclamation of either innocence or guilt. And the settlement $ was NOT paid to the plaintiff! The settlement was between him and the German court...they offered to drop the case if he pays the court 150k and 50k to charity. None to his accuser. She is not a "gold digger," and the court stated a major factor in their decision was her desire for this to end bc of her child. You can assume either that it's because she doesn't have a case or that she's tired of her name being dragged through the mud, we all have our biases. But do take five minutes to read before making up facts.

    • @seankelly3774

      Just read a shortened version of it and it looks like he has to pay 450 grand and 200 grand, 150 of which goes to the German state and 50 grand to a charity. No pronouncement on innicence or guilt is made by the court. I am pretty sure the mother of his child wouldn’t make this up.

      @@Mauruud Well thank goodness vibes aren't admissible in court. It started as a custody battle and escalated from there. She wanted full custody (more money) & he wanted joint custody. Then she leveled allegations of abuse. Then there was a penalty order issued which he rejected in favor of appealing for a closed door criminal trial to protect their daughter. The trial would've ran through two Slams, therefore, he was not required to be present. The ex-girlfriend underwent questioning after which the prosecution swiftly withdrew their case. He was awarded joint custody & his innocence is maintained. She received no money & the settlement pays for the court fees resulting from the trial he requested. Case closed. So many comments are ignorant conjecture from people looking for an easy villain.

      @Mauruud the court didn't say he did or didn't. She was suppose to testify Friday morning and his lawyers said umm OK we actually want to make a deal. So we will never know. If he is "innocent" why wouldn't he just let it all play out, take no deal and then he owes nothing......🤷‍♀️

    • @got2bjosh
      @got2bjosh 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@RhondaVarnes-oj8nh The defendant doesn't have to prove they're innocent. They already are. It is the burden of the prosecution to prove otherwise "beyond reasonable doubt" in a court of law. That is a very high bar to clear and there are different legal tests of "scrutiny" used depending on the nature of the case be it civil, criminal, or Constitutional. During the closed door trial, the prosecution questioned her and then withdrew their case & swiftly moved for a settlement. Regardless of outcome, he would still have to pay the court fees for the trial he requested. That's what the settlement money to the state covers. She didn't receive a payout from the trial. This was originally a custody battle. In the end, he did receive joint custody as requested which the courts do not give to men lightly.

Horrible that some fleusy can just trash a hard working top athlete & bring him down through jealousy just mental health issues. Luckily Sasha has a tight together family that supported him through this hell. Good Looking talented wealthy young man who are hard working & focused are so vulnerable to these kind of incidents. Olya should be ashamed of herself & her mother too who seemed to be stalking Sasha. Bravo Zverev #2 in the world. Bravo

    A couple of comments. 1) McEnroe picked "Za-verev" (how he pronounces it lol!) to win the whole thing and he may be right. 2) If Zaverev (ha!) doesn't win this time, he will be crushed bcuz he beat Nadal in first round, he beat De Minaur, he beat Rune and he beat Ruud. Plus, there's no Joker anymore. Your chances will never be more in your favor. It is now or never! 3) However, to be fair, Ruud was sick and didn't play at 100 percent. We shall see.

    It started as a custody dispute with the ex-girlfriend. She wanted full custody & he wanted joint custody. She filed allegations of abuse. Zverev rejected the original penalty order & appealed for a closed door trial to protect their daughter. The ex-girlfriend was questioned & the prosecution withdrew the case. She received no money. No ruling either way means his innocence is maintained. He was awarded joint custody & paid off court fees to the state via a settlement since he was the one who asked for the trial. Case closed. Back to the tennis.

      Innocence can be or is just as difficult to prove as guilt but u don't have to prove innocence thankfully... that's the system. It's very often a he said she said battle where there's no solid evidence either way, so any money involved is for court and legal fees and fines. That's just our stupid legal system for you. Personally if he is not found guilty he should not pay a penny but that's my viewpoint. But they are just saying it's not a profession of guilt or innocence to justify the fines and fees.... It's BS.
