I know this may not be the way to get an answer, but I really need help. I have the opportunity to buy GIGABYTE M28U and LG 27GR93U-B at almost the same price. I kindly ask you to help me buy a better monitor. I'm only interested in which one is better for gaming.
In Europe it's right around 500 euros and it's currently the cheapest 4K 144Hz option with official g-sync compatibility. My unit has great uniformity, absolutely no backlight bleed and IPS glow is only barely visible in a pitch black room, but with some bias lighting it goes away completely. G-sync works flawlessly across the entire refresh range with absolutely no stutter or flickering. It actually works better than my old native g-sync VA panel which had mild brightness flickering with g-sync enabled.
Was waiting for this one, 27GR93u seems like a great option for ps5. Full 48gbps bandwidth, and less overshoot/ghosting than other competitors like m28u, msi mag28 and better response times at 60hz especially. The msi mag281urf is one of the cheapest hdmi 2.1 monitors with full bandwidth support, but the msi has much more ghosting so i think this LG is now one of the better options for ps5/series x. Update: purcahsed this on sale for $600 CAD which was a good deal. Regular $900. Its a beautiful monitor for ps5.
Does response time still matter at 60hz? I mean all of them are below 16.6ms. So it should be 100% refresh compliance right? I think we should look at overshoot at low refresh rate.

@@TomSzczepanski It's really excellent. I have to say though, the stand is a monstrosity - the feet stick out so much. I eventually managed to get rid of the issue thanks to a dual monitor arm but was seriously contemplating sawing off the ends of the feet.
One thing that wasn't mentioned in this review: How good is text on this one compared to something like the M28U? How "matte" is the coating? Is it the typical overly aggressive matte coating like on the new 27 inch OLED 240Hz from LG? How does it compare to a 27GL850-B?

Could you please check out the HP Omen 27q? I've seen it recently on sale, up to $150 cheaper than its rrp despite it being a relatively new monitor (2023 monitor), and I haven't seen any reputable reviewers check it out
What is going to be the best suited monitor for PS5 FPS gaming (Fortnite/COD)? LG 27GR93U, Gigabyte M27U or M28U??? All roughly the same price range in Australia.
Ive had this monitor for a week now. Its fantastic! Using it with my 7900xtx the freesync is buttery smooth. I use it as a work monitor and the text is crystal clear. I use it on my linux machine and game with linux. Everything worked great out of the box just plug and play. A month a go i had the cool master gp27u for a week and it had some dead pixels so i returned it for this. The LG monitor shits all over the gp27u as an all rounder. It handles reflections better. The adaptive sync feels more smooth. Text is more clear. The software works. The panel is very uniform while the gp27u felt low quality. Yes the spec sheet is better on the gp27u. But when u actually use it day to day the lg is way better. Only wish it had a usbc that charges my laptop.j
I’ve heard that they are also bringing back the LG GP95RP-B which is the newer model on the GP950 27 inch variant any thoughts on if this model is better then the 27GR93U?
i have noticed the 3 new GR series ultra gear monitors all use BOE panels instead of LG panels, should we be concerned at all? so that's the 27GR83Q-B the 27GR93U-B and the 32GR93U-B.
Nice monitor. About time this spec monitor started hitting the €500 price mark. That secondary chin is a real killer though especially for multi monitor setups. Seems completely unnecessary? Might seem nit-picky but I like a nice clean line between my 2 monitors.
a 4k 24.5 inch monitor would go crazy, because you wuld have an insane clarity for media, and you could play 4k or 1080p (with integer scaling) and it would look exactly like a 1080p monitor
@@SlixbrahSomething has to be wrong with your settings or your nose is touching the monitor screen. The difference in games between 4K 27in and 1440 27in is pretty small. Improvements in a 24in monitor at 4k would be nigh imperceptible.
im planning on getting this. Monitors in my country are impossible to get beyond 1080P unless you wanna pay way overprice. I plan on downing the resolution tho. No interest in 4k for now but this gives me the flexibility to test it down the road.
I received the 27gp950 last week for only $700, the picture quality is stunning and the rsponse time is very impressive. Which one do you think has better image quality? 27gp950 or 27gr93u ?

@@MyrKnofMe as a gamer first I care the most about response time/low overshoot first. So I personally look at the cheapest monitors then decide which one to get solely on those response times. Unless that price point isn't satisfactory, then I increase the budget. IMO cheaping out is always a bad idea. For example if I'm looking for a 1440p 144Hz, I'd pay extra 50-100 bucks for a superior product, as monitors is something people change the least often I feel
@@MyrKnof Thanks for the tip. I've been wanting to upgrade my monitor for over a year now and everytime i check stores, prices are outrageous. My biggest problem is that i have no idea about monitors nor monitor technologies. I've been using the sane monitor for years (Asus VG248 no idea if it's considered good or not, bought it based on what the product description said and i had never had problems with Asus products so went for it) and whenever i look for information i find opposite opinions about the same things (i.e. VA vs IPS)
@@GewelReal I agree, cheaping out on stuff as important as this is a bad idea, but i also think it is a bad idea to just buy something more expensive without knowing if it's gonna look better or not, which is my main concern i feel. I don't want to spend 500€ on a monitor just to have a similar experience to my current monitor, which was 250€ or so

when will you test Samsung G6? I had it once but had to return due to dead pixel and little too dark for competitive games but many people seems to have defects with this monitor.
Have you tried including contrast enhancements and local dimming? HDR and still it's dark dark for you ? otherwise , how do you like it for shooting games ? do you feel any delays on it ?
@@yurarnd8135 input lag and motion performance it's really good and 240hz is just super nice. Idk I tried HDR but the games were just either too bright or washed out colors. I have since replaced the G6 with an LG GP850-P 180hz which is a lot nicer for competitive fps in terms of visibility.
My GP950 is due a replacement under warranty, they have offered me this monitor , should I take it? From what I’ve seen it is a lower class monitor but gets brighter and handles reflections better.
I picked one of these up and I do like it, however has anyone else with one found that when enabling HDR mode in Windows the colours are actually de-saturated/lower-contrast in appearance vs SDR mode? I thought it may be a Windows/driver thing but running an AMD RX6800 with current drivers and other guys with similar setups find HDR only improves these qualities, doesn't reduce them. I've got a support case with LG ongoing.
Any chance you can start doing reviews on non Gaming monitors for Color accuracy etc? Asus Pro art series, Ben Q PD3220U etc. it is Monitors Unboxed, not 'Gaming Monitors Unboxed'
I'm writing from this monitor, but today I'm packing it to take it back, I got for less than $500 a labor sale that lasted 3 days, first impression are good, something that reviewers don't mention is the saturated colors compare to my 27GL850 but I prefer this since it gives the punch that colors on SDR needs since switching to HDR colors loses deeps because everything is over lit so I won't get this monitor for HDR, as a SDR is fantastic, I like there is not PWM so don't worry about headaches, like I mentioned the colors are very rich and it helps on games like warzone 2 to keep trach on enemies marked on red cuz they pop on the screen more easily than my other monitor, compare to my Samsung VA mini led on HDR this LG 27GR93U gets very close on colors so I don't miss HDR you won't get the bright highlights that's all, so it's fantastic then why I'm sending it back, well the first thing I notice is I want a bigger size I had to scale windows to 200% and I usually sit further away when playing with gamepad so most of the resolution benefits gets lost, second I thought this very well, I don't want my 27GL850 anymore so I can sell it but with what I pay for this I can put a little bit more and get the LG C3 42", yes I'm not afraid of burn in, but in exchange I get the bigger size that I felt missing plus it's a damn premium TV and you can feel it, it's absurd how these monitors feel like a toy, the LG C3 can do excellent HDR it has 4 hdmi 2.1 ports and that model comes with lower input lag than C2 and better motion handling, plus it's OLED so it's gonna feel like a 180hz display. So I recommend the monitor but if you budget can go above $500 I recommend getting the OLED

Get the LG 27GR93U…
@@broadwaybull I got the m27u it’s pretty damn good, couldn’t get the LG in Australia for some reason
LG 27GR93U or Asus VG28UQL1A? Any suggestions?
6:16 it says 1440p, which is obviously a typo?
It's disappointing that the contrast ratio is so low. I was expecting at least 1100:1. It's the only thing stopping me from buying it.
All IPS panels offer poor contrast, 900 Vs 1100 would hardly make a difference.
If gaming mostly at night VA or OLED are way to go
I’ve heard that they are also bringing back the LG GP95RP-B which is the newer model on the GP950 27 inch variant any thoughts on if this model is better then the 27GR93U?
i have noticed the 3 new GR series ultra gear monitors all use BOE panels instead of LG panels, should we be concerned at all? so that's the 27GR83Q-B the 27GR93U-B and the 32GR93U-B.
Nice monitor. About time this spec monitor started hitting the €500 price mark. That secondary chin is a real killer though especially for multi monitor setups. Seems completely unnecessary? Might seem nit-picky but I like a nice clean line between my 2 monitors.
There's a small bug at 5:06 - it says that 27GR93U is 27" 1440p while it's in fact 4k. Scratched my head for a minute.
I noticed the overdrive setting seems locked to "Fast" in sRGB mode. Is this still acceptable for good response time performance?
Will you also please do a review of the new 57 inch Samsung G9 Neo? I'm dying to see your full take on it
57 inch your neck 💀
@@Neucher depends on how deep your desk is. My desk is 1 meter deep and I already have a 49 inch where I can more than easily see everything
a 4k 24.5 inch monitor would go crazy, because you wuld have an insane clarity for media, and you could play 4k or 1080p (with integer scaling) and it would look exactly like a 1080p monitor
Plus the PPI would be crazy
You can do all that on a 27 inch 4K monitor and games at 1080p don’t look bad at all.

This LG 27GR93U is actually cheaper than both the Gigabyte M28U and M27U right now in the UK.
I’m hesitating between the 27GR93U and the 27GR83Q for console games, especially fast fps games so what do u think?
I received the 27gp950 last week for only $700, the picture quality is stunning and the rsponse time is very impressive. Which one do you think has better image quality? 27gp950 or 27gr93u ?
GP950 have nano cell he is best
The only one left to review is the 27GR83Q

tip: Either set specs you want and find one that fits OR a budget and then go for the highest specs you can find.
waiting for/wishing/wanting everything perfect and at low cost is never gonna happen and you will be forever waiting/indecisive.

Hi Tim, will you be reviewing the Dell G2724D? Keep up the great work!
Bought this one open box for 480 euros wasn't sure if I will keep it but might as that was a nice deal black friday 50 euros off and then 70 euros off because open box deal so 120 euros discount
how is it
I just bought a Dell G2724D, have been waiting ages for your review but as its only £209 on Amazon now I had to blind buy it & fingers crossed its good.
Think you made a minor mistake @6:27
It appears on most of the charts as a 1440p monitor, even tho It's not.
why would you choose a lower refresh rate besides 144hz? Any reason to do this?

Is this lg better than the m28u for Xbox series x? Specifically for COD WARZONE?
I wanna know, too! Someone chime in?

I just grabbed it for 450 - seemed too good to be true at that price
Yep, see it now on Cyber Monday selling in US for $450. Looks like a nice deal.
what i want to know is how does he get the rgb lighting on the back to go really fast and rainbow colors i don't see that option?
LG have announced the 27GP95RP-B - a 27" 4k 144hz nano-ips screen just a few days ago.
Anybody know how/why it's different to this 27GR93U?
Really? I couldn’t find anything similar to the nano ips one that came out recently. I think you mean the 27GP95R
Upon further investigation, the 27GP95RP seems to be some kind of variant of the 27GP950, possibly without the RGB lighting
Where did LG announce it?
Why would you buy this over the 27gp950-b though? It’s very largely the same monitor only the older model offers more hz @ 160, bigger and better rear rgb features, and most importantly it’s cheaper to buy to boot.
Strange 🤔

@@yurarnd8135 input lag and motion performance it's really good and 240hz is just super nice. Idk I tried HDR but the games were just either too bright or washed out colors. I have since replaced the G6 with an LG GP850-P 180hz which is a lot nicer for competitive fps in terms of visibility.
Where is the amd free sync premium I can’t find it or is it already built in???
My GP950 is due a replacement under warranty, they have offered me this monitor , should I take it?
From what I’ve seen it is a lower class monitor but gets brighter and handles reflections better.
No. If they can't give you a GP950, demand a GP95URP-B.
Is this good for the PS5?

How does this compare to the LG27GP95R ? They seem to have the same specs but the GP95R is cheaper.
Is the SRGB and contrast ratio better on the 27GP95U? Can the GP95U be calibrated like the GR93U? I'm interested in the GR93U but don't like the contrast ratio. I need an all-round monitor, not a gaming monitor, and HDR does not matter.
good day, do xbox series x and PlayStation 5 provide 4k 120hz? Would you recommend it for these two consoles? I want to play cod warzone.
Yes. This is the perfect Monitor for the PS5 and the XBOX series X as it will play your games at 4K, and at the full refresh rate for consoles which is 120Hz.
