Just pull out the bottom "spill" retainer from the cup holder (where your pennies are) and there is a torx screw inside there. Remove that one screw and the entire USB outlet/switches panel comes right off. Much easier to work on and access with the entire module in your hand - don't have to reach from down below and can do all the changes on a workbench.

Wouldn't hooking up the wiring to other lighter adapter not give you proper voltage for fast charging. Say you have something 3ose bugged in there.
