These are great. I bought a pair of them and installed 1 in the lower glove box for the dash cam & charging mat on my RAM. The other I installed in the dash of my Ford Tractor which is out in the weather. It's been close to a year with no issues and the volt gauge is a bonus. Also the touch switch turns the usb ports off so there's no battery drain for from things I leave plugged in.

Hey, how are you doing. I would like to know where are you located? I would love to take my car to you so you can fix some issues I have with my stereo system. Would love to hear from you soon.

whats the advantage of taking out the cigarette lighter universal 12 volt port and put in a USB in its place? why not just plug in a $10 12 volt to USB adapter?
I get why you would add one of these somewhere else to add in functionality, but you're losing your universal 12 volt socket here.

Cig plugs are becoming obsolete. Its more practical to have just a USB cord. I have one item that uses a cig plug. Can you guess what it us? It's a dual USB adapter.

@@Itsa_Mea here are the items i have, that I've never seen with a usb cord... air mattress inflator - cooler - heated lunchbox - 120v ac power inverter - dewalt cordless drill battery charger - air compressor/tire inflator... I'm sure theres something I'm not thinking of and I'm sure there's thousands of products that I don't own that also use the 12v receptacle...

@@mykrowsy obviously you have a need. Luckily my truck has a built in inverter for my impact gun charger and other things. I'm not saying a cig lighter receptacle isn't necessary at all, just that a couple USB plugs are needed and are commonly used amongst most, especially in a little commuter car.

@@Itsa_Mea yeah I think it's helpful to have them, as auxillary, like in your glovr box, etc, but it seems foolish take the universally adapted 12-volt capability out of the car.

Im with you on this question. However I have a reason why this may be done. It turns out he diameter on this specific 12V port is wider than the standard so I haven't found one that doesn't fit loose.
