Really love the size of these Deluxe Editions. Glad DC included other stories Jay Garrick stories like Vengeance of the Immortal Villain. Didn't realize DC had plans to release this so it's a nice surprise. Thanks for the video!
Omar, I grew up with 60's Silver Age comics, and just off the top of my head Andy Kubert's Flashpoint and Brian Buccellato in his work with Francis Manapul outshine Infantino in almost every way. Their work pops right off the page, nearly breaking the forth wall, which captures that sense of speed and immanence that is The Flash, at least to me. The older work is confined to the panels, which puts boundaries on The Flash, which misses the essence of the character. Kubert and Buccellato make me feel The Flash can use his speed to go anywhere, including right off the page into our world. This brings an excitement that just isn't there in the older stuff.
Oh, Larry. Kubert is a great cartoonist. Manapul not my bag. InfAntino was an ARTIST. Respect to your opinion, but you're comparing apples to kumquats...
It`s great that the two giants (Marvel & DC) are preserving their rich history. We`re living in a Golden Age for collectors. Having access to these great stories in these formats is something I could have never imagined. Gardner Fox was a genius and should be remembered as such.
How does this compare to the DC Comics Classics Library edition? Is there any more content in the newer printing? Paper Quality Comparison? etc.. Oh and Julie Schwartz is a guy.
Thanks for the video Omar. It actually inspired me to read the original story which I have in the "Flash: A Celebration Of 75 Years" hardcover. Entertaining story and important in DC's history but it did remind me of how hokey Silver age DC could be. Cheers mate. 😊
I'm glad that DC is putting this out again. I sometimes think that fans must get so tired of companies putting out the same material over and over, rather than printing new or different material, but, there is always new people coming along or old fans that haven't picked it up. Also, this books looks really great! I love the way the silver age colors look on that gloss paper.
Personally I feel silver age marvel is the best out of the big two and I grew up reading silver age marvel reprints and loving them to this day. They're great! Stan Lee was probably one of if not the best writer for comics of his time. You can actually read full silver age marvel runs in omnibus format and be proud about that fact lol. Silver age DC however, I tried like you and yeah they're just not that good maybe aside from a few cool issues and some keys such as flash of 2 worlds but other than that it doesn't have much to offer. Imo silver age Marvel is the best and still has concepts that later comic runs would take or even some of the movies take influence from.
It'll be a miss for me as with many of the current DC line as I hate the PAPER and INK being used. And is that binding looking a bit lop-sided. Great review as always what are your thoughts on the solicited Blade TP by Guggenheim. Thanks.
This is a book that at first thought I never really considered purchasing. I don't have the room for the DC Silver Age omnis, but seeing as this contains a couple issues from three separate Silver Age Flash omnis, this looks like a nice slice of important comics history
Great video Omar, I love these stories and the book looks awesome but I am still going to stick with my Crisis on multiple Earths team-ups vol's 1&2 as they also contain the 3 Green Lantern and the 2 Atom of two world issues.
I wish there was an early look at both john brynes doom patrol and gail simones wonderwoman omnibus. DC needs to send you early copies like marvel. Now i can't buy either cause i don't know anything about them.
@@NearMintCondition I love DC and just wished they went out of their way as much as Marvel does for the fans. Hopefully they can make something work with you! You're the best!
DC needs to start Bronze Age Flash collections, that was a good era for the book
I think that might come.
I look forward to you announcing it!
A Flash Geoff Johns omni volume 2 would be sweet.
Indeed.
"This doesnt come until 2050 but our friends over at [PUBLISHER] sent us an early copy"
Ahem... next week. :)

it was a nice surprised.
What a great book. These and the JLA/JSA crossovers were so amazing.
Classics, brother.
What a dome they used to draw on Barry. I legitimately thought it was a Flash gets super brain powers story.
Never read it but definitely getting it, my kids love silver age comics!
Love hearing that your kids love the Silver Age.

Ah one of my favorites is Scott Kollins and I know he's hit and miss with some folks.

Thanks for that, omar. I look forward to your review of it. I've been waiting ages for this to be finally collected.
You are more than welcome, brother. I hope you enjoy it.

You aren't lying about having access to these stories now.
I'm looking forward to buying this digitally.
Looking so good that book
My man!
I think I became a flash fan in the early by watching 1990's-91 flash series
How does this compare to the DC Comics Classics Library edition? Is there any more content in the newer printing? Paper Quality Comparison? etc.. Oh and Julie Schwartz is a guy.
It's taller, but the paper quality isn't as good. Yeah, I thought it was Julius' daughter. :)
Hey Omar, I have a question. Is the Sandman Overture Gallery Edition cancelled? Can't seem to find it on Amazon or BooksDipository
Came out today, brother. So CGN has it, perhaps Amazon in a couple of weeks or so.
@@NearMintCondition Phew, that's reassuring. Thanks Omar
If you have all three silver age omnibus you have all this materiel correct?
All of this should be in the second Silver Age omnibus.
Thanks for the video Omar. It actually inspired me to read the original story which I have in the "Flash: A Celebration Of 75 Years" hardcover. Entertaining story and important in DC's history but it did remind me of how hokey Silver age DC could be. Cheers mate. 😊
Hokey is right, my friend.

I think some things are evergreen at companies.

Yeah the marvel stuff holds up much better. My silver age spider-man omnibus with the entire Lee/Ditko run is my favorite book in my collection
I've tried to get into the Golden and Silver Age DC and I still couldn't
Hi omar, any idea when the flash by baron & guice will be collected?
Volume 1 is this summer.
Ive been hesitant on buying the silver age flash omnis, so this will be a perfect way to try it out and see if i can get down with the silver age.
Good journey.
One less issue, missing #170, than the DC Classics Library version
Someone else mentioned that.
Hi Omar, which geoff johns run do you prefer , flash or green lantern?
Ohhhh man, so hard. Flash
I've got the standard sized version of this in hardcover. Not sure if I'll be picking this up unless I can sell my hardcover for a decent price.
I know that feeling. I have a stack of books I need to sell.
A very high concept for 1950’s comics
For sure.
It'll be a miss for me as with many of the current DC line as I hate the PAPER and INK being used. And is that binding looking a bit lop-sided. Great review as always what are your thoughts on the solicited Blade TP by Guggenheim. Thanks.
I'm all over that Blade. My overview will be out tomorrow on that and the other Marvel Trades.
Thanks for review Omar 🖖🍀👍🙏
Thank you for watching adn the kind words.

It is important. You are absolutely right.
Do you know when the James Bond Warren Ellis omnibus comes out?
Sometime in March I believe.
Awesome Video hugs :)
Great video Omar, I love these stories and the book looks awesome but I am still going to stick with my Crisis on multiple Earths team-ups vol's 1&2 as they also contain the 3 Green Lantern and the 2 Atom of two world issues.
Good call.
I grew up with Barry ... loved it and I loved Wally West taking up his mantle...I hated how dirty they did Wally
Same.
Any word on a second Geoff Johns Flash Omni?!
Not yet, brother.
Awesome review
I hope we get volume 2 with Flash #s 215, 228, 235-237, 246-247, 305, Flash spectacular and Flash 179 "Flash, Fact--or Fiction?".
That would be a great collection.
At $30 I probably won't get it but I'm hoping InStockTrades will have it for half that when it comes out.
I'm sure it will be discounted.
I might get this looks interesting
It is interesting.
I am so on the fence on this one.
I hope the video helped. :)
It was selling out, so I picked up JLI V1 OMNI from amazon. It came w/ TWO DUST JACKETS!! Have you ever seen that before Omar?
Great choice. I havent seen that before.
I wish there was an early look at both john brynes doom patrol and gail simones wonderwoman omnibus. DC needs to send you early copies like marvel. Now i can't buy either cause i don't know anything about them.
I will be doing an overview of Wonder Woman as soon as my copy comes in. We've been talking about advance copies so who knows what they may send.

Too many damn words per page for my dumb ass. Great uncanny video though, thx!
hahahaha...sometimes I feel like that.
So if you have the omnibus books you have no real reason to buy this, right ?
Correct.
Julie Schwartz is not a she.
Thank you so much for clarifying that. I know that sometimes he went by Julius.
You really do not know your comic creators. Julie Schwartz is short for Julius. It is not a she.
I really make mistakes sometimes. Good thing I divorced the person that called out my flaws. Harlan are you related to Heather?
The idea of multiverses is nothing new really
Nothing is really new :)
