Bayonetta's Steam Store page confirms this, and says that purchasers of Bayonetta will get 25% off the Vanquish pre-order.
I can play this game at 1080p with 45-60 fps (45 when crazy things are going on and mostly 60 fps) on my 9 year old c2duo E8500, 5 year old HD7750 and 6 GB DDR2 800MHz RAM

I don't remember having such fps drop on PS3, of course it had slows on cutscenes and flashbacks but overall game wasn't bad.

I'd have loved to have seen performance analysis of it running on integrated graphics (and I'm always interested in this, given how much more commonplace a scenario it is than even having any recent GPU, never mind one that's several years old)

What some of these guys don't understand is that Sega can make more money on the pc. Because they don't have to deal with license fees from Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft put their games on consoles.
And after Bayonetta sales, steam give Sega a bigger share of money. Which means that they can make more games for your consoles and your Pc. So unless you don't want a Bayonetta 3 (maybe) Vanquish 2 (it's possible) Virtua Fighter 6 and Shemmue 3 released, I suggest some of you stop being a-holes about Pc gamers getting the best version of a game that's been released a few years back.

Double A Animations that all depends on Nintendo really. Platinum could easily go back to Sega with that because they're not under contract to a single publisher. So who knows, anything could happen.

I don't know the real numbers but let me use an example.
Let's say that Bayonetta was $50 when it first came out on XB360/PS3.
For every copy that was sold, Sega would have to give Sony/Microsoft $30-35to cover for license fees and distribution to stores (gamestop, best buy, etc) were $15-20 go to them.
Where on Steam if it was sold at the same price. $30 or more would go to them, and Valve gets the rest. Like I said I could have this all wrong, but yeah Pc is very beneficial for Sega in that regard.

Very nice. Hadn't even heard this game was getting ported. Just added to my wishlist after clicking on this video. So happy this got a proper port since I just got a 470 a new ultrawide. Also, just remembered I had Vanquisher on my list of games I need to play, doubt it will get ported though.

970 until less than 1 year ago was considered the main gaming card on the market, funny to see it as "old"..
7770 is older and weaker, but at the same time, the raw performance is around the same level as the Xbox One GPU, so hardly to impressive that it runs a 360 port.... Bayonetta on PC uses DX9C, so it theoretically could run on Windows XP and very old graphics cards; it feels like a port made 7 years ago that they decided to release now to be honest.
hmbrz Well, 970 was released in fall 2014. So, in PC terms it IS old.
September 2014, and until less than 1 year ago it was the main gaming card on the market, it's less than 3 years old, PC hardware doesn't age as badly as it did 10 years ago, a 2600K from January 2011 is still good, a 7970 from January 2012 is still very usable for gaming, a 970 is a very up to date gaming card.
it's no longer "high end" performance, but, it shouldn't be any surprise to the fact it runs a 60FPS (target) 360 game easily, the Maxwell architecture is still pretty good and close to the current Nvidia architecture (Pascal), no massive changes.

If it sells about 200k copies, which is pretty good for this kind of release, you'd probably see Vanquish.
SEGA ARE more focused on PC these days, it's just the games they release you never cover, for some reason.
Why do you never look at things like Dawn of War or Total War? You cover console exclusives, and these games are interesting because they tend to be CPU workouts much more so than other genres. Not only that, but unlike consoles you can actually compare different hardware even though they're only on one platform.

+SuperNeonManGuy I just got 600 arrows yesterday, haven't updated the game yet so I don't know what cap your talking about. I have heard from many people that they limit the arrows that you can pick up at 25.

Actually 5k/60 might be exactly what the Pro can do. You can pretty much checker board anything from 1080p/60 to 4k,5k,8k, and maybe 10k/60. Remember that SONY is behind the elite trickery of checker boarding. Don't sell yourself short and keep in mind that Playstaton Pro is the best.
PS4 Pro would be lucky to do 1440p upscaled to 4K while holding 60 FPS.

I kinda wish for games like this, with so much going on on screen, there were zoomed in stills included to get around RUclipss bitrate issues. I know its a premium feature for patreon supporters to get uncompressed video, but I think this feature would be well appreciated on normal videos as well, in addition to the usual gameplay to show smoothness.

What's with all these people WiiU people claiming this is somehow inferior? Did you not see the Video? Do you not know how the PC has controller support and has had controller support for games easily for a near decade now? Hell, I've played local couch co-op for games and used a 360, XBox One, PS4, and NES Wireless Gamepad all for one game. 4 separate controllers for one singular game.

They don't really acknowledge anything unless it's on a Nintendo console. After Bayo 2 went exclusive and was buried forever on the Wii U never to return, they don't regard any other versions outside of a Nintendo console as valid. Same happened with Batman, COD, and Zombie U to name a few on Wii U. The tablet somehow made them the definitive versions somehow, regardless of slowdown or lower frame rates due to an under powered system.
Just toss reason out the door and maybe you might be able to relate.

Bayonetta 2 is great, but didn't sell well because the Wii U have less people and didn't get enough support from people that owned a Wii U. So unless Platinum gets a rich mega fan to fund it I don't see it happening sadly... It sucks Sega didn't support Platinum for 2 and thus having to rely on Nintendo to finance it.
VanTesla I can honestly see Bayo 3 happening after Platinum getting burned on Scalebound and the Switch already being a massive success. Plus Nintendo and Platinum have a great relationship. Wii U was a dying console when Bayo 2 released and was competing with freaking Smash Bros.

This is exciting to see and hear. Hopefully this opens the possibility of a Bayo 2 port and possibly even a 3rd iteration for pc users seeing as to how the bayo team don't have worry about past company relations and hardware limitations when releasing for pc. I love this game and I'm hoping me and others that never had a wii u get the chance to play the 2nd game on pc sometime in the near future.

I think it is the same case for pc the pc port too. Just the game selling well is not enough. You need a miracle. Maybe nintendo suddenly decides to be nice to you. Maybe Nintendo falls from the console business. Maybe it will happen during our lifetime.

8 years ago i was stilla console gamer and bought bayonetta day one for my xbox 360 and it ended up being one of my favorite action games of all time..now in 2017, i've been a PC gamer for 5 years, and one of the franchises i regretted having to give up was bayonetta..now i get to play this game for the first time in years in 4k..yes plz and thank you.

Some times it's not that long, people could play breath of the wild 2-3 weeks after release date, at 4k-8k with reshade to make it look better, well i had 2 PS3 one fat one slim, they cost me 950-1000 to get in total, both broke down after 1-2months after warranty expired. but that was not the issue i had 63 games only 2 of them i got in lower price that 59.99, more that 3.700€. And i could not play them anymore. That and the pay to play online are the two reason i prefer to wait a weeks-months-years until i can get my hands on exclusives or timed exclusives. We have games to play until then. And bayonetta is a single player experience so why does it matter when you played it? You played a lower quality version 7 years ago, we played a better version now.

Yeah, lets not support the devs of the game at all. That kind of emulation DOES affect devs, cause its a modern game and the game is still being actively sold. Guess no one wants a sequel to Bayo 2. I still strongly hope that it doesnt for that and a couple of other reasons.
Rockymann27 Emulation is not bad, devs don't lose revenue from games that are emulated because they were never going to buying it the game in the first place.

Why so much emphasis on 4k gaming? It's still in the minority. The majority of gamers are on 1080p.
CyberClu because higher end cards are overkill for 1080p at this point, as in, they're literally designed for 1440p+
On pc you can downscale it to 1080p to get much better image quality.
_"when you have that much power left over, there's only one thing to do, push image quality to the max"_ ^^. Besides even people that don't have 4K monitors may still be able to take advantage of VSR or equivalent.
Google "Downscaling" or watch the video "GeForce Tech Demo: DSR". but a tl;dr if you have a 1080p monitor and you let the game run on a higher resolution like 1440p/4k the image will get downscaled to your 1080p monitor and the game will look much sharper and better and you get a better image quality. It's like anti aliasing just it looks much better because AA methods like FXAA let the image appear a little bit blurry.
Because they had nothing else to maxout in the game.
The Wii u you version is still the definitive version IMO because of it's extra costumes and weapons and the difference in graphics is negligible. Plus Bayonetta 2 is never coming to pc so if you get the wii u you also get access to Bayonetta 2. Also holy shit Vanquish on pc would be leget.

Do you actually use emulators? I do and I'm excited for Cemu but It's gonna be a while bud(scratch that since you are a rude person. Switch that bud with "dumbass"). It will take anywhere from half a year to two years if i had to guess. And that's only because they have a patreon. If it's anything like past emulators it could even take 5 plus years. but those where all done for free so creators probably weren't as motivated as the cemu people. Also you need a pretty good pc to run cemu so not everyone is going to be able to.(albiet that might change).

Emulators are cool, but acting like it is at all a good way to play most WiiU games right now is just ridiculous

Aside from how awesome this PC port is, I didn't realize they had a version of Fly Me to the Moon in Bayonetta (played at the end of the video) since the song was used for the ending credits of Neon Genesis Evangelion. That's really damn cool.
I'm not sure its me but I purchased it yesterday on Steam and for maybe 10 minutes of play before I went to sleep I noticed the audio felt a little odd? Like missing sound effects and music in certain cutscenes? At the beginning where Bayonetta and Jean are falling during the cutscene they say something to each other but its completely silent. Is this just me?
I don't understand how you can characterize this port of a 7 year old console game as perhaps the best PC port of a platinum game when you also say it's
1). locked to 60 fps in the gameplay
2). locked to 30 fps during cutscenes with frame pacing issues. Not to mention the cutscenes have low quality textures with blocky artifacts
3). the options show msaa but it doesn't work

Still the best way to play the game out there, by far.
its more of the fact of how scaleable it all is
quite a few ports might have problems at high resolutions of barely any graphic options at all but this can run on very high resolutions with no hitches and can run on very old hardware and still do good

I've also ran this in my old AMD build which is AMD Phenom II 965 with AMD 7790 and this game runs butterly smooth on max graphical fidelity on 1080p. Mind you this build was back from 2008~2009. The only question I'd like to ask is what took them so long to put this on the PC? Clearly this game was meant to be best on he PC.

This is why I love PC. Running older games at really high settings at insane resolutions is always really nice.
does higher refresh rate really matter? i'm okay with 60fps
vram setting bar should be an industry standard watchdogs 2 had it and it helped make changes in settings easily

I am in a geforce gt 630 and and a core 2 duo and it still runs at arround 50-60 fps at 720p. So... yeah, great work platinum.

I loved playing this game way more than the last couple of DMC games.
How is the pc version control-wise compared to say, Devil May Cry 4 ? I had no problems playing it with a keyboard
