My wife was panicking but this short and easy to follow detailed instruction of disconnection and re-connection did the trick. It was a lot easier even than the video. Now she wants me to fix the roof. Thank you.
I have a Samsung washer & dryer. My husband doesn't have much faith in me. While he was at work I tried this and this actually worked. Can't wait until he comes home and show him. We saved over $300. Technician diagnosis would have cost me $100, plus labor & parts. Thank you for this video. I'm very appreciative!🙏
Years later and this video is still saving me money! I took the cover off of the PCB and tapped on the upper left relay until the dryer stopped running in phantom mode 😂
Thank you so much! I disconnected and reconnected and it worked! Our dryer is 2 years old too. Thank you for the education and empowering people to do fix ourselves and save money!
Easily one of the best do it yourself videos on RUclips. It literally takes 15 minutes to do, start to finish. Just unplug and reattach wires to PCB, and wallah, it works. I'm sure someone can explain why this works, akin to control alt delete on a PC, but this has saved myself and others hundreds in repair or replacement costs. Thx a bunch for posting
The spinning issue has happened twice to my Samsung dryer. The first time unplugging it for a day or so resolved it. The second time I left it unplugged for a couple of days and as soon as power was reconnected it began to spin again. I found this vid and disconnected all the wires from the PCB and then reconnected and that did the trick. Thank you! Also, this issue seems to happen why I get impatient and open the dryer door before it's drying cycle has counted down and stopped on it's own.
Thank You! My Samsung is a few years newer but the general layout is about the same. Disconnected everything. Reconnected everything. And it reset the dryer's brains. Working normally now. Thank you very much! You'd think just unplugging it from the receptacle for 60 seconds and plugging it back in would reset the computer. But you actually have to disconnect each connection one by one and reconnect them.
Sir, you rock! By simply pointing out simply disconnecting and re-connecting all wire mounts as the possible solution, you saved the price of the PCB. Thank you so much for posting this. If you ever have another hack to video and post, do it!!!
Thank you. It saved me replacement. Tapping on relays (first two components where two connectors were disconnected on control board PCB) with back of screw driver fixed the issue. Disconnect and changing to other cycles did not help. Make sure to not tap too hard to not damage the relays. Tap on top and all sides. It worked wonders! Thanks for the great video and all comments.
Tou both are hereby certified geniuses. I tried it the first time just disconnecting everything and nothing. Took it back apart and beat the relays with a screwdriver and shazam! Works for now. Thanks!
January 13, 2021. Worked exactly as stated. I tapped on the two black relays at the left end of the box (as you are standing behind the dryer looking at it) as I had heard sometimes those can get stuck. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with the world. It saved us money and stress.

Hello Sir, I just wanted to say thank you very very much for this video. I have the same dryer. My dryer would not stop tumbling even after I pushed the power button. The lights on the panel would go off and it would still dry clothes, but wouldn't stop. I did exactly what you did in this video, and didn't have to replace anything. Your video saved me a lot of $$$ ,frustration and anxiety! Thank you again!👍👍
Ended up unplugging and plugging back in. There is a switch in the large black plug that sticks and keeps the dryer tumbling. I tapped it with a screwdriver handle. Dryer doesn't keep tumbling now. Saved myself $140. Also board is out of stock everywhere if you happen to need one. Good luck!
Dude!! You saved me!! I tried unplugging everything first then plugging back, didn't work. Put it back together and was about to order the part but read this comment and tried again this time WHACKING that black plug! Did the trick! Thank you!!
Our dryer would not stop running unless the door was open and would not heat up! Following this video, we unplug everything and plug it back in and it works now! Thank you!
Dude, You are the man!!!! I have a 6 year old front loader Samsung dryer. Same issue - keeps spinning when the cycle finishes. I followed your instructions. It took me about 4-minutes, and it's working perfectly now. All I did was unplug and replug all of the connectors as you did. Thanks again!
Thank you for making this video. Hubby works graveyard, and I didn’t want to bother him with this problem. 😊 I thank you for helping me fix my dryer, and he thanks you for being able to sleep longer!
I found all that needs unplugged is the large relay at the far end of the PCB board. Likely what is happening is the relay contacts are welding themselves once current is applied. Same thing happens in larger industrial contractors after lots of hours of usage. In your board, it's the connector with the black two wire plug with larger gauge wiring. Main thing is always make sure to seat the connector back in as this relay does carry a fair amount of electrical current. THANK YOU for sharing this video!
This worked for me also. Dryer had same symptoms. I took apart and put back together but I forgot to unplug one wire. I went to start and nothing. So I took apart again. Made sure to disconnect every plug. And tapped the relays a few times. Also blew on the board for good luck. Lol. After I put it back together it was working like the same way as before. Thank you for taking the time to make this video and thank you to the other subscribers for there extra comments that helped out.

Excellent video and advice. Unplugged motor relay and replugged it in - error cleared and back to normal operation. Less than 15 total time and did not need to buy any parts.
This worked for me!! Thank you so much for posting. Samsung needs to resolve this problem. Opening the dryer door without hitting the Pause button should not be causing this issue.
Good video. Helped me fix mine. The cost 10 minutes and watching your video. For me though all it took was unplugging everything and plugging them back in maybe basically letting the circuit board reset. Didn't have to buy a new board and it's working
Had same issue - watched the video, searched locally & found the part, and had this repaired by lunch. Normally I would have called for a service repair for this issue. Had the time to find this video and DIY ... certain I saved money here doing it myself:)

No need to disconnect all those connections. Just tap on the square black pieces with the back of a screwdriver. Works every time. Samsung should recall these boards. Many of their models use the same boards and they all SUCK!
Brilliant. Took more time to move the dryer back out to screw the top back on it because I forgot. 😀 I'm sure I'll eventually have to replace it, but now I also know how to do that on my own as well! Thanks!!

Didn't work at first. Disconnected them all, and tried the tapping. Then I flipped the box over and hit it hard (on the plastic box) behind where those relays are located, and that got them unstuck. Thx for the video.
No problem eventually you will need a new PCB board, but just buy it online and switch it out doing the same thing. Please subscribe and like the video for me. Thanks.
2:22 That's the blower motor relay. Some people have had luck with banging on it to get the relay unstuck. Sometimes unplugging it and plugging it back it is enough to loosen the relay so it will work again. No such luck for me though, so I'll be replacing the PC box too.
Good call on narrowing down the issue and i had to disconnect all the cable while it was plugged into the wall to get it to stop tumbling. This should buy me some time until the part comes in. Thanks again!
Same thing happened to me today. While the drum was tumbling, I turned on the power to get the display engaged, selected a new cycle, hit play then pause and the drum stopped. Turned it off and on again and it worked just fine.
Run relay is sticking, often caused by excessive heat in console area due to a clogged vent. Sometimes your method will work, if not you have to purchase the PCB. If yew cant find one in stack you can also solder in a new relay. Don't forget to check vent so you cure the cause not just the symptom.
@@gregdolecki8530 No , usually a clogged or restricted vent caused extra heat inside the cabinet of the dryer, over time it can cause the dryer to run longer if you are using the auto cycle. The heat build up also is not good for the electronics , this can cause them to stick.
You just saved my parents a service call and a part - we got lucky I guess and also just needed to disconnect / reconnect. Thank you so much, it's very much appreciated!
Thank you--Unplugging the PCB connectors and plugging back in worked like a charm. Fixed it in 10 minutes. But why would that work when simply unplugging it from the wall, which I also tried, NOT work?
Because unplugging the connection on the relay sometimes breaks it loose inside where the contact is stuck. You don't need to unplug all wires only the run relay rectangular the heat relay is square
Check the continuity of the black and brown wire relay. Sometimes they are just stuck closed. The jostling of me removing the board was enough to reopen it. Dryer works perfectly now.
Thank you!!! Thank you! After looking at this video, we did what you did and bam! Dryer is working. Hd the same problem-it wouldn't stop. How long is this fix good for? I'm canceling my appointment that I made for tomorrow. You're a gem!
Well, I had to do this about 2 or 3 times. But, then I had to buy a new PCB, which you can find online. If it happens again quickly, then just but a new PCB and switch it out, simple!
Just taking the connectors off and back on and it worked. That white in back of the black was very hard to get off. Wish I would have tried just the black connecter first.

Because unplugging the connection on the relay sometimes breaks it loose inside where the contact is stuck. You don't need to unplug all wires only the run relay rectangular the heat relay is square
