I’ve been driving since I was 12, I find it easy because I’ve studied cars, and I know a lot about them. But this is cool how you’re teaching him so early.
oh my gosh where is this place, it looks like a lot of people also learning to drive at the same time, they need places like this in America where other teens can drive around each other and adapt to each other
Your son has the talent in driving, he managed steering very well. I am really sure he will 1 take pass when he takes the first driving practical test.
Aww cute, he looks exactly like you. And drives like you too... j/k 😄 This place looks awesome, young driver training centre presumably. Wish they existed when I was that age.
The one key thing i saw there on the hill start that the car was helping him to rev up to automatically start a hill start (hill start help), So i think thats all on him to think about and learn but hey driving isnt that eas if you would think. This is a great opportunity for a kid to learn especially car gals
Well spotted. That is one thing that my car does to help. So I was confident about getting him to just use the clutch to set off, so that there isn't so much to deal with and the danger of overrevving and lurching forwards was minimised. We'll introduce the accelerator next time 😊
This is so cute! I think it would be so fun if you guys documented his whole learner journey when he's old enough to get his provisional. Also I'm pretty sure that's the cardrome near me lol. They absolutely suck. The roads are so bad and the instructors aren't great either and £20 in pound coins to get in 😐
Haha yes! Such a cool thing to have somewhere for kids to be able to drive that's like actual roads. But for somewhere they use to teach learners I was surprised how bad the road markings are. We'll definitely be back though!
These driving places are a good idea, I think it's good to learn when you're younger as your brain is better at learning then. A 5 year old can learn to speak chinese, but a 40 year old English person would really struggle. Having said that, I just learnt to drive in my 40's, so its still possible - but I would likely have learnt faster if I was 17.
I wish this were legal where I live. Constantly relying on driving schools gets expensive at times and really bad if you have a bad instructor. Also being able to do this with family could make a more friendly environment and getting more constant practice
@@jfluffydog2110 No it isn’t. You literally will get fined driving with or without someone who’s got a license. Not only that, if the other person who allowed you to drive also get a fine
@@TheGoatsy Because it's not legal, you learn this on private road. Private roads are where most manoeuvers are taught no sane person would let inexperienced person to just go right into the traffic.
I love that you explained what happening to the car and how you do will influence the car. In my country, many people don’t know how the manual car works even though they have passed the driving test. And….yeah I know. That’s terrible.💀
I've just come across this and thought how good this is to start your kids first experience driving a car safely, I live near Maidstone in Kent, is there anywhere like this place near me, it would be a great place for my daughter to bring her 15 year old daughter!!
I am 15, and I never thought it was easy... and boy when I sat in the driver's seat it really did hit me full force. Worst part that there were cops coming past as I was driving in a parking lot XD
Driving is really easy for some people. They may even be driving better than their instructor in 2 months time. But its important to get them to understand what an accident is because they really have no clue. A kid who hasn't experienced real desperation or a real wake up call doesn't understand something of that scale and intensity. You can't talk your way out of it. There's nothing that can be said. No comfort to be found once you make that one mistake. Being a good driver isn't about being really good at not making mistakes. Its about never making mistakes. You either drive at a 100% safe level or you don't drive safe. It's that simple. It's not a school test. 80% doesn't get you an A*. If you get a 99% grade here, you're going to end up in an accident within 50 days that was your fault and you will have to suffer the consequences. And I really mean suffer. I luckily haven't been in a car accident but I've seen them. Getting the student to push the car for 100m with the engine in neutral is a good start before learning to drive. To really get them to understand what they're moving at 10mph let alone 70. And when another car comes at you, whatever speed you're at, double it. I love racing and found driving to be really natural. But I always drove really strictly and took it really seriously even though it was super easy for me. Because I knew this wasn't a game. In games, you're racing and trying to brake as late as possible and get the best line for the corners. To this day I still do that having grown up loving racing games specially the more simulator ones. That's something I love doing and have to actively control. The entire road doesn't belong to me and the priority isn't fun. it's the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved. For people who like racing games, one thing you can do is go into the settings and disable stability control and traction control or decrease it and increase the difficulty by choosing the more simulator like option for steering and conditions rather than normal. The normal is artificial and regular cars don't have that level of downforce, traction, brakes, suspension... With these settings, your children will be able to count the number of times they would be dead per 5 minutes of them driving/racing. In the real world, you get sensor lights in your dashboard by just going over a pothole or having an older battery. In the real world, driving is boring and you zone out into your thoughts. Everyone does. Humans can't sustain attention for very long at all. And then bam. Should have developed better habits. You'll fatigue mentally and so can't rely on yourself to save you. edit: this comment is general. noting to do with this video or your son. He behaved perfectly.
Im 11 years old, i know alot of driving advice in london, also about rounabouts, dual carriageways, slip roads. Driving is easy, the people that your on the road with are not easy to control! My mom passed her test with no minors or serious or dangerous faults
As someone who started driving at 14 im going to say a couple of things, practice makes perfect. It doesn't matter if your a beginner driving or a pro everyone needs to drive and make mistakes to get better. Second some people come across driving easier than others that doesn't make them better than you, that just means that you need a little more help which is okay. third, I think he did an okay job for a first timer, overtime he'll get much better!
When I was still like 5-7, I would sit on my father's lap and control the steering wheel on a straight, clear road until about the age of 11, when I first drove by myself. I'll never forget that day. I am now 15 and I still drive without my parents around my neighborhood and area because it's mostly clear roads, but I have driven once or twice in traffic and highways, and it went pretty well. I just can't wait to turn 18 and get my drivers license.
I'm 15 yrs old rn and I started driving in my dad's legs at the age of 9, and when I was about 11 yrs old, I knew how to drive the manual by myself and even on road. And for now I can drive like it's nothing
If you decide to make this a series I highly reccomend you buy an older car just for him since he's your son, he is still learning so he will probably get the hang of it eventually but I noticed every time he pulls away he only uses the clutch and doesn't add any acceleration which only works in newer cars or diesels as you already know so if he gets so used to doing that by the time he's 17 - 18 and passed it will be a whole new learning curve going from a modern car that adds acceleration to an older car that doessn't due to insurance
That’s a great observation! I instructed him to drive like that on purpose as some of the junctions here are quite small and I didn’t want him smashing the gas and dumping the clutch by accident. First step being able to set off slowly but next time we’ll introduce the accelerator for fast starts 😊
@@DrivingSchoolTV ah fair enough, I was just thinking about when my dad was first teaching me to drive in a diesel and I did this a lot, then my instructor had a diesel and I still continued it, passed and had to practically relearn how to drive a car all over again when it came to owning a petrol, not to mention I had no clue how to use a handbrake because I only used the hill assist 😂
For the most part, it is easy, mastering the wheel is probably the hardest, 2nd is brake, sometimes you press it too hard, 3rd is gas, sometimes you press that too hard too. And what i did to master all 3 of these is I Just took my car and drove around the neighborhood a few times, while being careful, i just took the time to learn those.
Having access to a car and family member who takes you out to practise is a privilege I wish I had. (Both my parents are disabled)

this is cute 🥺 as the daughter of a taxi driver who has taught many to drive but isnt qualified, i cant wait to experience thisss!
Aww thank you! Good luck for when you can start!!
@@DrivingSchoolTV Thank you ♡! Good luck to your son, hoping he gets his moped AND his car 😂
W dad W son impressive driving for beginner
under your teachings , i cant tell he will be a great driver one day
that kid lucky not getting beat up everytime he stalls the car
The boy did a good job
uh don’t lie to yourself
Your son has the talent in driving, he managed steering very well. I am really sure he will 1 take pass when he takes the first driving practical test.
Great teacher. nice one guys.
ahh i went to this today with an instructor went very well and hopefully he does aswell!
Well done Adrian 🎉 that was amazing 🤩 great skills already and great explanations Francis 🥳 really nice video (especially the beginning 😍) 👍🤗👍
to learn driving without Power steering is so much harder !
Nice Job for driving first time.
He was actually doing great as a 'first time', i remember mine, it was traumatizing 😂
Im 15 and my dad tought me how to drive a manual, today i can drive like someone who has a licence although i don't
Good luck on your exam.
@@theiaraine thanks ig 😀 although I'm a little scared 😰
@@someone_834 I'm 16 and mine is in a couple weeks. Just get as much practice as you can and be confident.
I see that he is getting real world testing with them pot holes :D
Amazing how many people don't avoid them and just drive straight through them ... then wonder why their car pulls to one side or the other 😅
Aww cute, he looks exactly like you.
And drives like you too... j/k 😄
This place looks awesome, young driver training centre presumably.
Wish they existed when I was that age.
in the USA at 15 you can get a permeant to drive with a adult at 6:00 AM 6:00 PM then at 16 you can take your kid to the DMV to take a driving test
bros such a good teacher
@@DrivingSchoolTV i wish him all the best in his learner journey (and you teaching him haha)
This car is so forgiving for this kid, personally i would want to learn on a old car with no helping technology.Still cool video
Your sutch a good teacher so calm and gentil whitch is great because if you panic it’s likely the driver will panic
This is legal everywhere
@@jfluffydog2110 No it isn’t. You literally will get fined driving with or without someone who’s got a license. Not only that, if the other person who allowed you to drive also get a fine
@@TheGoatsythis is only legal because it's a private road mate, he couldn't drive on public roads
20:34 Proud father moment.
Haha so proud I can’t even talk properly 😂
I am 15, and I never thought it was easy... and boy when I sat in the driver's seat it really did hit me full force. Worst part that there were cops coming past as I was driving in a parking lot XD
“This cars nicer stop eyeing up other cars” 😂😂 TOO RIGHT we love a fiat Abarth 😂
He behaved perfectly.
good job young man.😀
Im 11 years old, i know alot of driving advice in london, also about rounabouts, dual carriageways, slip roads.
Can’t you get your learners permit?
9:30 short explained. Its called a clutch bite
8:48 that miata is a freaking training bot for that turn
Nice video, very helpful!
That was so fun i cant wait the next episodes 😅
For the most part, it is easy, mastering the wheel is probably the hardest, 2nd is brake, sometimes you press it too hard, 3rd is gas, sometimes you press that too hard too. And what i did to master all 3 of these is I Just took my car and drove around the neighborhood a few times, while being careful, i just took the time to learn those.
