On a track, the GT2 will take the Turbo S anytime...but in a straight line, there’s not much out there that’ll beat this new Turbo S!!

We need a turbo s with GT3 RS sound. That would be the best car ever. 5:10 the videos starts.
With 2 turbo charges that’s not possible...the GT3RS has a naturally aspirated engine with 9000 rpm and no turbos. I’m a huge GT3RS fan tho, it’s my favorite car.

why isn't it? Rear weight bias, extreme traction control, launch control, AWD, lots of boost and torque? It is a street dragster par excellence
@@02hreblue30 No one is saying it's not excellent at being a street hot rod. Simply that as good as it is, it's better at being a GT and track car.

Might I recommend removing the pickup truck from the side of the road. If one of you spin off you’re dead for sure. That’s how Bruce McLaren died. He hit a fixed object in a crash.
Also you should have switched drivers as it could have been driving skills. I’ve seen other drag races where GT2RS won.
And lastly get the gorilla to spit out his gum before filming, chewing with mouth wide open on camera.

Ya. It’s not a drag car and isn’t built to be one. It’s funny when guys get so invested in driving a straight line and think it is such a big deal. It’s kind of an American thing I think, but a Porsche puts so much time into braking and handling, that accel is only one of the factors of the performance equation.

As an owner of the 992 Turbo S I’m bias but that was a great race always give respect to the GT2 RS it’s an awesome machine, at my age I prefer a more relaxed drive of the Turbo S as my daily drive.
I hear the 2021 BMW M5 CS mIght be a contender for the Turbo S , might be a good race .
M5 CS does quarter mile at 10.4 seconds. Turbo S at 10.1 seconds. Surely the win for the Porsche

The big issue with the M5 CS it’s going to be extremely low Specialty production that won’t be available as the production has already be allotted. So you won’t be seeing them as you would a standard M5 or a Comp M5 , let alone racing them .
Both amazing cars, GT2RS looks so aggressive 👍

Of course its faster in a straight line. That wing on the rs is taking 10 mph to improve grip in corners. That being said I am glad you did it anyway I really enjoyed watching it!

exactly. it amazes me that people dont understand the concept of a wing, and more importantly physics, the faster they go the slower the gt2rs will become relative to its potential because of the downforce that it creates. Down force is literally weight pushing down on the rear of that car and it gets heavier by every mile and hour that increases

Turbo S for weekday/work and GT2RS for weekend/track.

Difference was drag because of the huge wing on the GT2 RS and all wheel drive on the Turbo S.

Good race. I have a 2008 Z06 but these Porsche’s make me want one.
One of the car's horsepower ratings is off by a large margin, either the 992 has way more horsepower than advertised or the GT2RS doesn't have over 700 horsepower. I suggest both cars get tuned and dynoed to determine the real winner. By rights the GT2RS being lighter and having more horsepower should have reeled in the 992. The rolling start is what told the true story since traction would not be an issue and simply a matter of who had the most horsepower and torque.

Tbh the Turbo S shoots off the line way faster bc of the AWD but after crossing the mark of 200kmph the aero starts to shine on the GT2RS.

Only thing I really dislike about either is the sound especially on the GT2, it's such an amazing car but it sounds so muted. The GT3 sounds so much better

The GT2RS is behaving as though it is out of water which debates the horsepower to that of the turbo s.
This is obviously the case because they stay together on the rolling start.

I saw a track video 911 turbo s against GT3 and the turbo s was just slightly slower on the road course. Hopefully one day I can buy a turbo s they way I build it on Porsches website. They cost a few pennies more than my Porsche boxster s, lol.
