4:22, 5:23, 6:35, 7:43 (Launch Stats), 5:43 and 6:50 (Fly-By)
For normally aspirated engines, higher altitude means less baro pressure so the need for higher octane isn't needed as long as your engine isn't detonating. What is the formula? Not sure. Turbo'd or supercharged cars need more octane to keep the engine from detonating (as designed) and using lower octane could knock your engine out (pun intended) with less disregard for elevation. Myself, I would dyno the car with the availability of fuel that you have, at elevation, and see what fuel won't pull timing. Its a crapshoot otherwise.

I'm in CA and just got mine a few weeks ago. With a bad DA of 3200 on full air pressure and completely stock car on 91 I ran a 10.13 and a 2.51 0-60. Car is a beast. Can't wait to test with DP's, tune and better fuel

It was 46 F 93 octane would do nothing the car will only pull timing if it detected pre egnition that’s not going to happen with 46 F temps .
@@brenyz5013 With 98 or 100 octane it will have definetly more power .. you right the knock sensor will not detect pre ignition at 46 F themp
@@mike-thebike5757 also they are waaaayyyyy above sea level. I'm sure the DA wasn't the best. 46° temps at sea level with 93 octane would definitely produce better times
Watched it do 10.1 multiple times on carwow drag races .... Am sure with that 93 it could have done that figure.

That's great to know about the overboost button how the hell do you time your overboost and your launch? Also can you turn on the overboost while you're going in the quarter mile? Please let me know ASAP

When I owned an '88 3.2 Carrera, anyone larger than a small child, sat in the back, would be advised to put their legs in the opposite footwell. At 5'8 (and normal proportions) I was able to sit in the rear of a Lotus Elan+2 in reasonable comfort (over a short journey) using the same technique.

lol, the gravel collector is very recognizable. When I first got the car I thought it was a bit weird but I have also come to appreciate it as a feature.
Also have never seen a single handed launch control before. I am still trying to hang on with both hands when I try it... Great video though!

I'd love to know where the heck in Mexico you guys go to be able to open it up. It's got to be the most depressing thing about living in Draper. "Development / City Locked" from mountain range to mountain range. It's been a year since I got my 992 and I still haven't really opened it up.. aside from the occasional launch-control when no one is behind me driving around town. 0:)
If you could just maybe point me in the right direction of your Mexico map.. The way I see it, it's either go up Emigration or Mirror Lake highway before you're in the clear.. or head west toward Delta. By that time, you've already put your entire year's allotment of miles on the car.

I really liked my 992 C4S but I agree with you. It was sooooo quite. It had a really nice induction sound but the exhaust is just too quite. I recently went back to a 991.2 GT3. Slower but I love shifting it (Manual) and the sound is awesome. This new Turbo S is a freaking beast.

Tests in Europe got better performances, but the fuel is there also better - fuel above 5% alcohol has there to be decared as non premium and is also much cheaper, because of the lower energry.
Put it in sport mode then push over boost button during launch mode for better 0-60

There's plenty more in that car, environment is a big factor. Test it in the right conditions and it'll surprise you.

Higher octane fuel will not give you any more power what it will do is give you the capability of running higher cylinder pressure without pre-ignition and in 46° temperatures preignition is not going to happen in that car Especially at 4000 I higher quality fuel would give you more power.
