Thanks for the video. Saved me a lot of headache trying to look up things that'll work for my pt cruiser from the neon. I have a 03 pt cruiser gt with a worn 5 speed manual transmission and plan on going with the t850 racing transmission with neon axles since the lengths are different but the hub spline count is the same. And of course I'll have to change the shift and clutch cables as well as the shifter housing to make it go into the correct gears
The manual transmissions are hard to find for the pt as there wasn’t many of them also the srt4 transmission has lots of parts no longer available along with the shifter cables and internal parts it would be easier to just convert it to an auto from a pt gt
I have an 04 touring turbo and an 88 dodge omni. I plan on swapping the engine but I first want to get the engine to make 300 whp. I’m trying to find out if I can use srt4 engine upgrades on pt engine. This will be my first swap. Hopefully it goes well.

I'd love to get myself an official srt4 but up north here their pretty scarce and out of my price range so I was hoping to build my own. It's been my realistic dream car since it debuted.
@@Mattsneedforspeed what do you mean exactly? I've read the power steering pump has to be swapped, but my understanding was everything else would work. Of course my sxt is a 2004, and my parts car is an 05 dream cruiser 4. It appears to have everything the GT has, brakes, sway bars, ect
@@RockBottomGarage the engine as a long block oil pan to valve cover the exhaust manifold turbo lines alternator and all brackets on back are the same on the front the power steering pump and bracket and lower thermostat housing and the metal coolant lines will be the same every thing else is different on the engine to direct bolt into a srt4 you can use the front spindle and brake assembly with hose the rear you can pull the hub bearings and the backing plate spindle brake assembly the ebrake cable is different

You can use the brake caliper, rotor, and caliper bracket....by doing this you lose alot of wheel weight from the neon srt front brake set up. The only thing is you have to have 17 inch rims and tires for the bigger rotors to have clearance. Its basically an upgrade, cause it's lighter wheel weight. So you gain about 20 horse power... ALL OF YOU SRT4 people can thank me later for that one...
haha just came from watching ed peters video im guessing? could of gave bit better info such as which year and edition will fit not all years and editions fit
well id need to get and do a tear down on all years and models of the pt cruiser this primary covers the pt,s that came with the turbo engine there is not many parts that are a direct fit to the nsrt4 from the pt and for dan a brake swap does not add horse power, this would be less rotating mass from this swap the srt4 and pt turbo brakes (THE CALIBER MARKED TURBO) is wider and the bracket and the rotor. there is more mass to dissipate heat under hard braking an upgrade over the standard pt cruiser (non-turbo) thinner rotor a real upgrade is the 4 piston wilwood set up i did the install and weighed the components and i think it was around 13 lb drop over stock ruclips.net/video/DjMZA0k6JTU/видео.html
Hope somebody knows the answer for this. He says struts can be used on srt4s but they look like neons struts which arent the same. Are these different from neons but same as srt4s?
the pt cruiser came with 17in wheels the spring rates are different as the pt is heaver and the spring perch is mounted farther up the shaft so yes a pt front strut will fit on an srt4 and the factory nsrt4 wheel and tire size will fit up and not rub
Edgar Ayala ok a turbo pt ecm, skim, key and lock cylinder will install in a Srt4 and make the engine run but there will be no fan and no Speedo with a manual ecm with an auto ecm I never tried I’d think start and run not sure on driving since the ecm will be looking for an auto transmission it will have check engine codes

@@Mattsneedforspeed yeah it's compatible well the gt pt cruiser 2.4l turbo and the srt4 ac bracket is the same. I wanted to know before I brought one off of ebay and well i took the risk. Idk some ppl said it wouldn't but it surely does. Thank you for your reply 🙏
The bottom center console instruments like the rear defroster and cig lighter socket are the same, with the same black bezel for it.

Are the PS Lines and pump interchangable? That rag top is big $$$ as is the pump. NEW the top cost me almost $4000 to my door in Canada

how much would you charge to convert a 2003 Neon SXT 5speed with the 2.4 setup, stock swap with all suspension parts needed?

Do you know what uses the same pass side intermediate axle as the 2005 srt4 neon?
2003 and 2004 use the same shaft as the 2005 its pretty much an srt4 only part

Does the srt4 and pt cruiser ac with belt tensioner bracket fit? Or compatible?
the lower front bracket is the same but the front lower motor mount bolt ive found to be smaller im not sure if its for all or just the non-gt
